As a Canadian, that $64,000 question was super easy for me haha. Newfoundland is a maritime province that's off to the side, I'm pretty sure east of any US state, while the other three provinces all do in fact share a border with a US state.
I knew the Grand Coulee Dam question from the Dylan song, Idiot Wind, from the line "From the Grand Coulee Dam to the Capitol". Possibly a bit of joke from Bob ... "from Washington to Washington."
For each of the following 2 Questions, I would have picked 1 of the following 2. Canadian Province which doesn’t border the lower 48 States 1: Newfoundland 2: Manitoba Billy Joel’s “My Life” 1980s Sitcom 1: Bosom Buddies 2: Too Close For Comfort
I fell for the same trap Dan did on his $125K question. I originally thought it was Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who didn't end up as one of the choices.
i dont think ive gotten there yet but im confused by how ihe said the comp must hear his voice cuz someimtes he says final aswer someitmes awile b4 they say eys if they change thier mind andthey say it to
Back when they replaced him, I thought it sort of blasphemous... and a total bummer, because to me, honestly, nobody could get the crowd excited quite like he could. Plus, it always bugged me how Meredith would always say “Let’s Play Millionaire!” Bc I’d just be like “No... No! You gotta get the whole name out!” And it just further drove home the feeling that Post-Regis Millionaire just never compared to how epic the show used to be.
Regis was the best host for Millionaire, Meredith was alright, but Regis Philbin was the definite best dude and host of Millionaire, it never felt the same when he left. Millionaire went downhill from when Regis left the show.
8:05 European capitals, but starting in the U.S.? are the question makers drunk? it should be "starting in the east (and going west)" or "starting with the easternmost"...
The problem is that "Starting in the East" doesn't make sense since the Earth is a sphere (you can go east forever) so you have to define a starting point, otherwise it's ambiguous.
@@vinnv226 But any given continent has a westernmost point, Europe included. If they had said "starting with the westernmost capital and moving east" then it would've made a lot more sense.
I can’t help but feel bad for him in this episode, poor guy’s so hoarse he can’t fully get out his usual rousing “Let’s play WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE!!”
Notable scenes : 1. Claire Edelstein walked away with $32,000 after incorrectly answer $64,000 and really loses. (Her $500 question about the sign of loser) 2. Nancy Edwards teached Regis a sign for winning the question.
Having all of your lifelines and using the 50/50 on the 32k question is so absurd it hurts me even 22 years later *edit*- man, this guy must have had a bad interaction with the audience; refused to use them! Could have easily cruised to $125k if he didn’t butcher the lifelines 🤷🏻♂️
WWTBAMclassics well at least his cold didn't stop him from hosting the show that night or else somebody would've took over as a sub host. Was there any substitute hosts of primetime Millionaire before? (Besides the Canadian Edition)
I would have said Washinton because I'm from Oregon, worked at an Oregon dam and never heard of Coulee Dam.
can’t believe i’m watching this 21 years later
Life in the states before 9/11 just felt so….innocent.
🥺
23:18 began something that was such good timing for him, so hilarious!
I was listening to this while studying and yeah his voice was much lower this episode.
This episode aired exactly 19 years ago today.
never leave a lifeline when uncertain!
So frustrating when the phone a friend doesn’t have the ability to listen carefully or the awareness to focus on the time 😤
Peter Booker was on Jeopardy! Wednesday January 25, 2006. He was stationed in Fort Monroe, Virginia.
How much money did he win?
On J!, Peter Booker won $2000.

I knew that one.
Everybody knows its off to the side genius. The problem with it is that its bordered by New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
1 of my favorite Billy Joel albums is 52nd street which is the home 🏡 for both the hit track and the theme to the 📺 tv show bosom buddies my life
My favorite contestants
Cindy 7:17
Keri 7:26
and
Ashar 7:43
She said she was sure Newfoundland borders USA, it doesn’t. It only borders Quebec and it’s at the northeast of Canada.

So many people named Dan on millionaire lol
one of the Dan's won the million bucks in January 18, 2000.
There's an old Swedish indie game called Dan Dolme too. Check it out.
Professor Dan sounds a lot like Mandy Patinkin. If I close my eyes I can picture Mandy in his "Criminal Minds" role.
I fell for the same trap Dan did on his $125K question. I originally thought it was Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who didn't end up as one of the choices.
Yeah, well it was in Concorde, Mass. Emerson's state. Written for a commemorative dedication at the bridge where it occured.
I thought it was John Dong von Hugenschlong 🤨
I’m pretty sure they made that $32,000 question just for Nancy
i dont think ive gotten there yet but im confused by how ihe said the comp must hear his voice cuz someimtes he says final aswer someitmes awile b4 they say eys if they change thier mind andthey say it to
Yes! Please more of the Regis ones. The Meridith ones don't make any sense.
I never cared for the show after Regis left.

I hated Meredith
PLEASE upload the 2-1-2001 episode where Claire and Regis both have fun with the $400 question for like 5 minutes.
I don't have that episode, sorry. I think I've seen it elsewhere on youtube, though
I was in Pre-kindergarten when this aired.
I was in the 6th grade when this episode aired.

I like it when Regis's voice is hoarse, it makes him sound more sinister and the game more suspenseful.
I can’t help but feel bad for him in this episode, poor guy’s so hoarse he can’t fully get out his usual rousing “Let’s play WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE!!”
Rod Roddy's (Announcer on The Price is Right) voice was hoarse too whenever he's sick. Both he and Regis should have some cough drops on the show.
😂
I felt sorry for Regis since he was too hoarse and can only talk softly
$16,000 (14:41 & 33:57)
$32,000 (5:03, 15:21 & 35:46)
Pound sign would be hashtag now.

I would have known that the answer to the $2,000 question was “The Flintstones” from watching the commercials for their vitamins.
I knew in the $64,000 it was Newfoundland. Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba border the continental U.S.
🇨🇦

Wow that Canadian province question was embarrassing to see, as a Canadian..
Norm MacDonald was also a Canadian, especially William Shatner is a obviously a Canadian.
Can you do Stan Wu?
30 shows before Kevin won $2.18M
The Paterno stuff didn't age too well.
Bonneville dam is Ory-Gyn's. (some say Oragun, Orygun, but genuine Ory-GO-knee-uns say Oreegyn.)
I would have known “The Flintstones” from watching the commercials for their vitamins.
That teacher is so full of herself and she cheated with the paf...
I don't know if they could police that but I definitely heard what you heard during that call. Lol
Ed Regis sure didn't dwell on peoples losses like Chris Terrence. Just "oh boy, good luck to ya..."
Wow
😯
do you have millionaire from 2000?
Celebrity Millionaire
$2,000 (13:05 & 30:23)
$64,000 (17:17)
Married 25 years? She looks 25 fer gosh sake!
Guess what WWTBAMC, CAPS Won The Stanley Cup for the first time! In honor of that, could you upload the 100th night of Primetime Millionaire?
*Did* watch the Caps the other night (actually know someone who went to a couple of games too!).
I don't have that episode, tho.
The contestants were Rene Nortz, Richard Grebow, John Webb, and Bill Harn. But it was also the first Fastest Finger Tiebreaker!
Yup, I know the contestants… I don't have that episode tho
Our DC Networks had watched the game outside Capital One Arena, like Leon Harris, Alison Starling, Marina Marraco, Jim Lokay, and many more!
Jim Lokay… that name sounds familiar.
You may wanna take a look at this……… ruclips.net/video/cxh00md04hc/видео.html
WWTBAMC, what is wrong with Regis, my man?
Think he must've had a cold or was feeling under the weather that night.
WWTBAMclassics well at least his cold didn't stop him from hosting the show that night or else somebody would've took over as a sub host. Was there any substitute hosts of primetime Millionaire before? (Besides the Canadian Edition)
$4,000 (13:36 & 31:04)
$8,000 (14:03 & 31:37)
