- Heyyyy guys! This turned out to be a long one!
You the real MVPS if you watch the whole process.
This ended up being multiple applications.
Foiling, toning, root shadow and a second tone.

“Those pop tarts are looking extra good right now.” 😂 I completely agree!
😂😂😂 glad im not alone!
Super impressive that you can do that on yourself !! As a stylist , I can’t even cut my own hair just my bangs hahaha
Oh that's funny! I think I've just been doing it so long its nothing now. You should try! Im sure you could!
You have got MAD skills girly!!! Thank you for this video!! I have been doing my own "highlights" since January, and I literally take 20 minutes to get my first foil in, so I have had to do separate sections of hair at a time, like, sides and front were 2 weeks apart LOL.. I keep trying to find an actual professional show in depth how they do the back and crown area, and I can't believe I didn't see this before!!! Thank you for doing this!!!
I've watched an insane amount of RUclips hair videos. I think you do a great job of explaining and sharing detail. Best to you!!
and you remind me of Ashley McBride ( or is it Bryde?)
Oh wow! Thank you so much for the compliment! That makes me happy to know, especially as you've got alot to compare me to!
And im not sure who that is but I'll be looking her up!

sorry I hear the song a million times, Neve the video, not promoting trunk disposal. stick to being the one who defied the nay-sayers- you natural deliver makes me think you are probably quite the bad- ass as she- ruclips.net/video/-RhdqUFRUS8/видео.html
I’m rewatching this and I’m still blown away by your talent!! Gurl!! The blend is on point and you did it on yourself!! Absolutely effing amazing!! 👏 ❤
This is the best video ever! Thank you so much! I did my hair last night in my bathroom using this technique and I LOVE it! I’m not a hair stylist but you made this easy with how detailed your instructions were. I love it more than when I leave my local salon and you just saved my like $150 CAD after getting my own supplies. Thank you thank you thank you ❤️
Ok so after 15 years I dread doing my own root let alone what you did. I did however about 9 years ago used to do my own balyage pieces but no weaving and no sections. Yours is amazing. I appreciate how you showed everything and wanting to re-tone and why. Ty!!!
Thank you! And yes I totally dread doing it too..... my arms get so tired!
TY for sharing. I like the lived-in, random look of your hair. Am hoping to discuss achieving this with my stylist. My base is about a 7. My gray is about the same % as you. Instead of warm, I want to tone cool like you showed in your vid about loving your gray. I've had full balayage for years, but it's too much blonde. The depth of color in hair boosts shine! Love it! Hope it goes well as you reopen. I appreciate that you tell it like it is. We're all fluffier than before quarantine 😉
Thank you! And yes.... damn this fluffy quarantine weight!
I've gotten my hair done once by a hair salon. I was super pregnant and it was for my 18th birthday my mom and my ex husband went halves on it. Ive never trusted anyone since! I'm bomb at doing my own hair and everyone always says its amazing that I can lol. I'm impressed. Came out nicely. Good job.
Thank you! Yes. And I think being picky and knowing just how we like it makes it hard to like someone else's work
@@hairbykristijennings6648 yea u know exactly what ur looking for and u know ur hair more than anyone ever could. Girls that have no clue about hair can do their own hahahaa
You did great!! Its looks so cute! Those blonde pieces really toned down and blended well.
Thank you for the video, the final result is gorgeous and so shiny!
Thank you! I wss very happy with it!
I love it! Trust me that is NOT easy to do!! From one hairstylist to another❤
Hey I just wana say u should really be proud of yourself. You have so much more personality and confidence than you started with! You look into the camera now amd your voice is so much more comfortable. Its so much more enjoyable to watch you! I kept watching cuzni knew you had it in you girl!! Thanks for sharing and stay safe! It'll all be over soon!
Aww! That really means so much! I have this fear starting out since I'm not one of those cute RUclips/ Instagram hairstylists that no one wants to see me..... that's why half the time im not on camera. The only thing I know about myself is im hilarious and people always tell me I need my own radio show/ podcast/ etc..... so im trying to get more comfortable on camera showing more of my personality. Thank you again so much!
@@hairbykristijennings6648 awwwe u r one of those cute youtubers and I wana see u.... Besides have u seen what they really look like hahahaaa at least u r REAL! U will shine! I cant wait to see u in a year and see how far u came!😉
hair by Kristi Jennings You do you! It's what makes you special. Anyone can attempt to be a copy of some cute IG type. I agree with the previous comment, have confidence. You have a great personality. Let it out!
Kristi 10lbs oh I only wish 😫😫😫😉 I'm morphing into the Incredible Hulk 🙄..... so absolutely stunning result your Sooo talented and layout confidence and fact your not like one of the "lovelies " that are more interested in tossing there own hair around is what makes YOU so special! Stay true and real that's what makes you special 😘
Thank you so much for the kind words! Definitely not one of the lovelies 😂😂😂 it is too damn hot up in here to care what I look like when I'm sweating like crazy! I guess that's the beauty of being in your 30s, you don't care anymore 😂😂
I love your personality, Kristi!! You are so funny!! I love it!! I wish you were in Houston, Texas. I would love for you to do my hair. You are a wonderful hair colorist!! Lots of luck to you, Kristi!! 💖
Thank you so much! I would have loved to be able to do your hair!
This is so impressive. I am so grateful that I found your video!
I am no hairstylist but I've done highlights like this with permanent color on my own hair. I understand the struggle and I am glad I am not the only one that attempts this. 😂
I'm amazed. Me not a stylist and do my hair with a kind of baby highlights by only doing top light layers skipping little sections...gray underneath.. just trying to imitate the real deal folks. Lol.. Foils, I know I couldn't handle. Your skills are outstanding on clients n doing your own hair , next level !
That turned out so beautiful!!
Thank you!
Fab! Gees, I wish I had a head of hair like yours!
Oh wow, thank you!
Ok you r awesome helping tone down the anxiety 💯🥰
Oh my goodness you are LOCAL!!! I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing!!!
I like your video, you remind me of how I feel. I do my own colour so I’m not that annoying hairstyles that is watching where everything goes. But it’s not always fun to do it on your own. Its almost a workout. And thanks for some tips. ☺️🙂
Oh yes, it's definitely a work out 😂😂😂 thank you again for watching!
Hello , I’ m a new subscriber, love your new hair do! You have so much hair! I did learn a lot from watching your vids, thank you so much
Hello! Thank you so much for subscribing! Glad to see you here!
Wow, amazing! 🎉
First of all that pink clip though lol .... Haha and girl you are phenomenal at even doing your own hair... I do teasy lights to bc I feel it's easier to blend on myself too all the way but love this color and loved how you did this demonstration .. you are fabulous through and through and hilarious at the same time I swear you make me laugh so hard I was belly laughing thanks again for the tutorial looks good girl
It’s definitely tricky doing your own hair but fun at the same time lol
@@hairbykristijennings6648 agree totally thank you Kristi !!! If only I had your knowledge And skills I'd be set lol 💜💜💜💜😉
You did great!! You are so much fun! Would you please make a curling video?
Yes! I actually have one from a while ago.... it's me curling my own hair and then also a quick one of doing a clients hair....
Love it! Really nice
You have the patience of a saint! I would be screaming and crying if I had to do my own highlights. Also don't your arm muscles absolutely burn doing this?
I really enjoy the stand I got for my phone because I can flex it however I want and also it’s the correct position so my selfie camera is the normal way :)
Oh good! It makes a difference!
Girl!!!!!!?I friggin Love you!!!! I did thus but whooooop. Ended up.like totally strawberry blonde. Ha...need more toner. Omg come to me.
I’m a fat arse too. I’m telling myself tomorrow I’ll start my new healthy journey 🙄 again. For the 3rd week in a row.
Same girl.... same.
Im like digging into my hubbys strechy pants cuz at 5 ft due to these covid lbs blew me out of most clothes i own . ugh thanks for being real girls feelin the corona curse in so many ways but stripped orange hair and lbs are nothing that cant be fixed...heres to the good times! 😂🤯
God this is helpful, thank you so much! I’m quarantined in my house with a mild case of the ‘roni, I’m bored and have some Blond Me and a nice toner on hand sooo 😁
I hope it turns out well!
I honestly miss the Kelly Clarkson 90’s look! Just me?🤷🏼♀️ Anyway, I wanted to ask you what lightener and volume you use on yourself and generally how long it takes? I can easily gauge what I’m going to use on a client, but I’m in uncharted territory doing this on myself. But I’m going stir crazy during this quarantine and I think I’m going to attempt a half head of foiliage with some babylights around the hairline.🥳
oh you should try! I use schwarzkopf blonde me with 20 vol. this lightner lifts pretty good. it blows out the packets tho so water it down just a tad
Yeesss!!! I miss the Kelly Clarkson look too! I thought I was the only one!
Looks amazing especially that you done it yourself 😃 I do have a question though what tint brush do you use cause I've seen you use it before and it looks softer than a regular tint brush and make blending seem so easy lol would just love to try it myself as I'm a newly graduated hair stylist so any tips and tricks I can pick up from more experienced stylists the better 😁👍
Fabulous
I love the shades on the top, back of your head. Such depth! Those faded reds, on the side, I assumed were from the rose gold toner. Or am I confusing this with another of your self-dye jobs….anyway, beautiful!
how long do you like to leave your root tap or smudge on for?
Did you use blondme and 20volume? Or did you use a lesser volume?
This is totally me when I do my hair I’m sore for like a week
I stand up and lean forward over the bowl. Much easier.
#LoveIt #be YOU tiful💐 🤗💞🙏
Omg, Kristi, too many words, girl!!! This video could have been half as long as it was. I don't have all that time to sit and watch. I really want to see the content but I find myself having to fast forward thru your videos constantly. I have to check out of this one now because I don't have time to watch it all and that makes me sad because I don't want to miss any crucial details, but I have no choice.
I actually use to edit out every single bleach grab, foil grab, between every sectioning every little thing to limit the video time, I'd edit out the majority of the repetitious foiling, etc and keep my videos around 10-15 min long..... doing that would literally take me 12 hours to edit a 10-15 min video from start to complete. I once uploaded a longer video and I got so many comments on how much they loved the longer video so I asked what do people prefer, edit out a bunch of stuff or leave it in for the most part and everyone mostly said leave it in, they like watching the foiling and hearing all the explanation. Only a few people said 30 min max, so I try to keep it around 30-45 min, every now and then a long one if it was an 5+ hour service.... so now because I don't have to edit out so much, video start to finish generally "only" takes about 4-5 hours....
What is the number and brand of colour deposit?
