  • How do you get a dog to walk on a leash if they are alligator rolling, biting the leash, crying, flipping in the air, literally doing everything imaginable to get off the leash...!
There is a way! You must be gentle and patient, but it can be done. In this video you'll see this little guy's story of how he has lived alone in a backyard for 3 years, and in one afternoon I teach him how to walk on a leash.

You can always use Google translate on your phone to get your message across to the owner. You type in what you want to say, and it will speak the translation out loud to the other person.

I'm so happy! I just found your video!! I adopted a 5 yr old retired miniature schnauzer from a breeder last week. I have spent the last week getting to know her and now the work begins. She has never walked on a leash or worn a collar. Your video almost described her behavior when I put a leash on her but times 10. She is very timid already and I really want to get her out walking to help build confidence. Thanks for your video!

Brilliant, you have already improved this dogs life no end, as dog rehabilitation is slow, so is human. Its not a sprint ( although it should be ), even if they don't surrender him to you they know you are watching. Sometimes that's all it takes. Loving your content.

But I am positive once she gets feeling like this is her home I will be able to work with her. She is smart. But your video was super helpful and thank you for all you do.

This is amazing. I am in Chile and just took a dog that has lived in the forest/streets for at least 3 years. She is very afraid, doesn’t trust humans and when she sees me she puts all of her weight down to the ground and doesn’t want to move. It is a challenge because she is not interested in food rewards nor touch so it is going to be a huge challenge but she deserves it. Brought her to the vet. She is missing all of her front teeth up and down. She is about 8 years old. She got her first set of shots as she has bloody diarrhea and is lethargic but the vet said she is in good health for 8 years old on the street. Hoping to give her a good life for the years she has left. How can I make her trust me? I also have a German Shepard. I have kept them separated since she has been here. She has seen him through the window. He has smelled her. I think she is afraid because she knows he is around even if he is locked in when I take her out from her room ever 2 hours or so and interact with her for about 30 minutes each time. Looking for some advice on trust . I will not introduce my German Shepard until she is fully vaccinated. She does not have her rabies shot yet will get in 2 weeks as the vet wanted her to get the diarrhea under control first. Dreaming of a dog that will be able to enjoy the outdoors. We have quite a bit of land for her to run and enjoy but now she is on a leash and rope when outside because she escaped once and I couldn’t catch her for 2 days…she slept outside at 32 degrees F….I hardly slept those 2 nights. Any help with trust and leash would be great. Thanks for showing this video. I will try this on Luna hoping she will learn with time. I am inspired by your video.

Your level of genuine empathy for another living creature is extremely heart touching. My entire life I have had a deep compassion for animals. I can relate to who you are and how you feel about this situation with that little doggie. I immediately shared your emotions and teared up with you. I’ve never seen your channel or commented before. You have touched my heart and I want you to know I love you for who you are. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I’m proud to know there’s such a down to earth woman that lives by the value of sacrifice, (Even if it means getting yourself into more shit sometimes lol). It can be hard but it’s extremely meaningful and fulfilling for some and you seem to be that person. Nothing but respect for you. I mean every word of this from my heart.

Great job keeping your commitment♥️it gets easier! Use food to build trust. Feed all meals from your hands. If she won’t take food from your hands, turn it into a game, and toss a piece of food to her, once she takes the food, mark it with “yes”, then throw another piece. Rotisserie chicken is how we win over all our feral and shut down dogs in the beginning.
If she still won’t take food you’ve tossed to her. Keep her in a room or gated off area, and several times thruout the day, walk into her area and deliver a small few pieces of chicken. Dont talk to her, or hang out, just be the good thing that has yummy food.
This process will collapse time frames, and she’ll come around.
The goal is to have her take food from your hand. Once you can get her to trust you enough to do that, then turn it into a game, and do “food scatter” toss a few pieces on the ground, when she takes the food, always mark it with a word, we use “yes”, then immediately deliver more food.
“Yes” lets them know high value food is on the way, and to keep doing what you’re doing.
Once you can get a dog to play with you, you’re in♥️

Your video gave me some great insight on how to teach my enki how to walk. I got him from a guy who was giving the puppy away. He came from tj Baja California. I’ve been trying to train him and find that he’s really fun but skittish to some stuff and he doesn’t like paracord. But understandable because he was given with a paracord rope. So that night I bought him some food and gave him my vest to sleep on. The next day because his belly was bloated and he was very drained of energy. I got deworming drugs and got him a proper collar and started learning how to teach him. Now he running after 4 days and a few good puppy meals and doing excellent. I don’t know dogs outside of universal psychology for all living creatures on this planet. So thx 🙏 I’ll teach him this and also continue my journey to raise the best dog to live up to the god I name him after.

Question: how do you handle a dog that’s never been on a leash and totally breaks down when you put one on. I have some girls that have never been on a leash before and it’s either they will not move or they totally flip and then go back to just total submission and will not move again.

But he’s finally comfortable at home, running around, jumping everywhere etc. But all I can say is be patient, take your time, don’t force it, it’ll come. I’d say he got a bit comfortable around the 3rd-4th month of having him.

I am crying watching this video. We just adopted a dog two days ago. He is a small dog, a jack russel mix almost 2 years old. He is very scared of everything, no sudden movements or noises or he runs. Tonight i got him on a collar and leash after dinner so he can go to the backyard and do his thing. All of a sudden he just went crazy, jumping up and down trying to break free. When he realized he couldn't escape he just went flat on the ground. And then he was able to break free on our backyard. I was so sad as this is my first time to see a dog this scared. He is sweet, follows me and my husband around. He sleeps in bed with us. But somehow during the day he is a different dog. He is very shy and just hides.
I hope i can make a difference on his life. See his tail wag, see his happy bark when he greets us... But as of now, i don't know where to start. 😢

Why don’t you train the owners instead of taking their dog away then if they don’t comply move to next step
