TO CLEAR THINGS UP: ren puts his negative emotions and ideals in a 2nd personification of himself(like multiple personification disorder), thats the reason he talks to "himself". While that negativity in himself reminds him of a devil on his shoulder he kinda talks to the Devil either(most religions have the right thinking of divinity in human actions and throughts) since we the closest to god beeings that belong ON this earth. He clears things up for himself by saying that we are in fact just imperfect humans that cant compare to the ideal Godbeeing
Never the less what impressed me most is the sounds he provides in the bginning and ending having a vibe to it. I worked with mentally Ill people and some of them tend to make such noises when they arent able to talk properly anymore.
Well fucking played and performed by Ren on so many different levels there.
(My Oppionion though realising that something is not right is a godbeing trait, the visualisation of imperfections needs a picture of perfection which only divine energy is provided with)

His work is powerful and profound. He uses his pain and suffering to relate to all of us. We aren’t angels or demons, and we certainly aren’t God. We are humans. Whether Ren is Christian, or not, he’s doing God’s work. Historically, he may have been called a prophet. At least appreciate the power of his message.

"The Devil" & "Angel" Are us. They both Live in us. There is no "Angel" with Wings, it's the passer-by who pulls you from your burning car. There is no "Devil", it's the Single-Father of 1 little girl, whom doesn't let her sleep at night. They are Us, we are Them. Which ever you choose to let out, is what the rest of us get.
We've been told this by multiple Religions, multiple ways.. To which is the problem. It's never really been laid out "at your feet", that You are the God, the Devil, the Angel, and the Demon. What YOU give is what the rest of us GET... Who do you wanna be?

CartierFamily.... "Hi Ren" was the first video I ever saw, or heard anything about Ren.... it absolutely blew me away .... I was so impressed. Then I watched "The Full Tale of Jenny and Screech".... and I started falling in the rabbit-hole..... After listening to "Money Game" 1 and 2, I became a huge fan. It seems to me that Ren uses whatever genre best suits the message He's trying to convey. I'm no expert, but I would say that "Hi Ren" and "The Tale of Jenny and Screech" are 'bardcore', not folk.... He uses Bardcore, spoken word, reggae and rap..... about half of the rap I've seen Ren do is flex.... He's amazing guys, YOU do you, but I would suggest checking out more Ren.... He's the BARD of our time.

10 points from Griffyndor for your man on the right putting on shades when he got hit in his feels. That kind of depletes the purpose of the video, because you want to see the reactor's eyes, most.

Ren prior to releasing this song.
" Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticise or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed.
I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head.
When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus.
These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between.
My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished.
My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world.
The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war.
For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person.
I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought.
Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours.
I can't wait for you all to hear it."

The thoughts are floating around and we attract them according to what attitude we are engaging in. The ego is self protection but it is also a parasite. Thank it and tell it see ya down the road. Any helpful or good thoughts are what you want to pay attention to. Save them up like you have a wallet where you can bring them back when you remember they are there. Breathe life into them like they are a flower opening…. Like he did when he stood up. Notice your breath deepening when you have these thoughts…. Feel you are one with them through the breath. Breathe into the thought. Allow yourself to relax with the breath. Allow yourself to be the breath itself. This will also keep you alive. Breathe the thoughts you are letting go out. Breathe in and keep the ones you want
If you need to, say silently “I am the breath …. Just breathe”. In doing this, you are affirming life

It is a christian song though maybe not be intention. The christian belief is that all humans are corrupt and evil as the default (which is 100% true). Why have an internal battle if there is no actual internal battle? That would be just delusion. If there was no Satan, there would be no internal struggle. Gotta have evil to show the good in comparison.

Y’all goofy thinking that this was him talking to the devil. It’s him dealing with his psychosis and the people in his head always doubting, manipulating, screaming, but it’s literally his own mind doing it to him.

This song is absolutely incredible, this man is a lyrical genius. This song is a back and forth battle with his subconscious, he mentioned suffering from psychosis so maybe this is a character he’s playing. He also plays temptation and hope and the structure to this song is just beautiful. It’s so interesting and different and melodically perfect I can tell this man is going places!

It was so good to see their reactions. So many people don't realize that shadow Ren speaks of is in ALL OF US. We think we are going to be able to "get rid" of it, but that only makes it worse. Make friends with your unconscious ya'll. If you don't know what it is, become a student, cause it's the only way we are going to get through the next few centuries is if we recognize our own selves in what we want to reject.

Ren was misdiagnosed with bipolar/disassociate disorder at 17. 5 years later, they found out it was Lyme disease. He spent ten years bedridden and in hospital, and is in Canada receiving stemcell treatments now. The anti psychotics made him experience psychosis. He is arguing with the other side of himself he found in that psychosis. This guy is tortured and genius.

Wild Ass Song!! It’s everyone’s subconscious in a song.. it’s art.. wild! Before every bad decision, before every Fight with a spouse, abuse, rape, beatings, before any trigger ever pulled on any person be it military or civilian.. there’s a voice inside us all.. do it.. don’t do it.. it’s the devil inside that drives the hate, the fear, jealousy, the grief, the pain..to go through with any bad decision.. there’s also the good inside what says “don’t.. you will get through this.. no one else needs to hurt like you do.. no one is worth the mental nightmares or self made subconscious prison the bad decision will cost you.. love all, make good choices.. because one day we will all be tested.. it’s a deep song.. it’s like folk, rap, rock, metal.. all combined. It’s life. 🤯

Eventually they found out what was wrong and his treatment is ongoing. He comes from Dwyran on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. And that was not folk music.

He said he learned to relax. That's something. Over-thinking is so tiring.

You were both right. In the metaphor of Lucifer, the Devil, etc. he is talking to himself. The metaphor is that the darkness and light exists in all of us. God, or hope, or Zeus, or whatever else you want to call it, and the Devil, hatred, Mephistophles, etc. exist within us all as well, and that we need to delicately balance this relationship very carefully within ourselves. "If the light shines too bright, it casts a larger shadow."

It is far deeper than you realize, guys. He is discussing the dichotomy of the human condition...read the lyrics. This is a masterpiece full of symbolism. Google Mephistopheles and you can piece its meaning together far beyond any "Christian song"...because it's not. We make angels, demons, and gods in our image...personifying our observations of the natural world and our experiences in it for meaning. Of course, you won't hear this on the radio...because the laity couldn't discern its meaning from the cacophony of suck on the airwaves.
