"Pick of the Day" - 1955 Gretsch Jet Firebird and 1960s Gibson GA5 T Skylark

  • It's been a while since our very busy tech Tyler Geske has done a Pick of the Day, and he's back today with another awesome Gretsch! A 1955 Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird in excellent condition - just a few screws and a pickup lead have been replaced. The finish has aged to a cool red that is darker than most of this age, and the DeArmond Dynasonic pickups are killer! We paired it up today with a funky little Gibson GA5-T combo amp that we just got into the shop!

    Cool guitar. Like it a lot.
    The board is astounishingly light- almost looks like granadillo- as does the panel on the amp.
    Loved the playing too. Great video, man.
