Digital Octopus CC10-15 Stereo Overview | Should You Buy This For Your 5th Gen Camaro?

- In today's video, we take a look at the Digital Octopus CC10-15 5th Gen Camaro car stereo. We did an unboxing video a couple days ago of the Digital Octopus CC10-15 stereo and yesterday we actually installed it in our 2011 Camaro. First things first, the Digital Octopus CC10-15 is very easy to install and I think anyone should be able to install this stereo. Mine went in super easy and the instruction video available from Digital Octopus lead me through the install process perfectly. Well done. So this is not an install video of the Digital Octopus CC10-15 but one showing how we installed it and of course some of the features of the actual stereo.

So after install, your center console usb still worked?
so im interested in the steering wheel app and the car settings app and the onstar app maybe do a in depth follow up video on those apps, great job on the install
Awesome man. Yeah, it's a pain to not have knobs for heat/ac. I just had a rental car on Florida and it took some getting used to. I imagine it'll take a bit. Nice looking kit though. I'm intrigued. Great video.
yeah im pretty sure that our car will be put away for the winter months, so the heat controls arent super important and the digital versions should work fine. If this was to be a winter car it would definitley be more of a concern.

yeah im enjoying it so far. Just getting use to moving around inside the OS. But looks like a nice addition to the car.

How has this radio been holding up ? I just received mines yesterday and installed it last night but the audio stopped working idky I reached out to digital octopus but no response yet, not even a day old and the unit failed 😞
Well I installed it last summer and it worked all the way up until November when I put the car away for the winter. I would think everything should still be working but will know more in a week or so when it comes out of storage.

Congratulations on the install. That would be mu biggest concern. Glad it was so simple.
The device looks capable enough and seems to cover all the necessary functions. I have not driven anything with that sized infotainment system. Does it pose any issues with distractions from driving? Do they only make products for Camaro? I couldn't see anything else on their web site.

yeah these guys make a decks specifically for the 5th Gen camaro. but was great to find them as it was probably one of the only decks that I myself could install with confidence.
Do you know how to update the system? Mine does not have the air conditioner app

Hey, I’ve had this head unit since December and was wondering if you had any problems with it causing engine/alternator whine? It only happens when the air and AC button is pressed or the defrosters are on? Any tips on how to fix that?
no issues with mine so far. But my car has been stored for the past few months (winter) and have only just brought it out again. Will let you know if i notice anything.

Your usb music wasn't showing up. Mine don't either. I have a fat32 formatted usb thumb drive with mp3s loaded. But when I select usb no tracks appear. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? TIA
i have a 5th gen LS, and am looking for a radio replacement from stock. If you don't mind telling me the main issues that you found with this radio, or maybe any other radio i can purchase?
@@slushiev132 well after figuring out that the stock music player wouldn’t read my usb buuutttt you can download and install different apk apps so I downloaded one called black player and I’m pretty happy with it EXCEPT using this radio my AC don’t seem as cold as it was with the stock setup
@@rogersmith4363 ohh gotcha, thank you. yeah i was just worried that it was a little too pricey but i can’t seem to find anything better and if it has the flexibility to download apps that can fix its own issues it sounds solid, i’ll def look into what you said.
How much and how is the navigation and the rear view camera
i use apple car play to this app so I can use either google maps, apple maps or waze. And I didn't install the rear camera yet as its winter here. Possibly in the spring.
Sound quality? Factory speakers?
Factory Boston speakers sound pretty good once you get the EQ adjusted But other problems are starting to make me not like this unit.
for the price this unit is junk, completely garbage
