I celebrate Christmas because it's my Gods Birthday. I celebrate Presidents' Day, because it's in honor (and to thank) my nations leaders. I celebrate black history month to honor my community and the triumphs they accomplished in order to be treated fairly. There were too many people who made an everlasting impact for them to be celebrated in just one day.
....and I'm already tearing up. I can't wait to teach my daughter about black history month for 2nd grade, homeschool. I promise that I will always do my best to raise my child to NEVER be one that judges others based on their outward appearance and will always love others and stand up for anyone that is being judged or bullied. These brilliant children in this video will be a great start to this curriculum.

Our traditional hairstyles were mocked and seen as “wild” or “tacky.” So I’m proud to be black. I’m proud of all my black features that are always mocked by racists and aren’t seen as beauty standard. Black pride comes from a place self-love, not maliciousness. You don’t care about being white because your whiteness hasn’t led to you being discriminated in work and school places. Being black does.
