  • We've been planning this Alaska RV road trip for over a year and we're doing it. Enough talk, let's walk! Well...we'll drive but you get the picture.
Taking our Class C to Alaska so we can get to some remote areas and drive on roads less traveled. We've taken our Big Rig before but this time will be different. We're going to Denali and Tek campground but also the Dalton highway and so much more.
Leaving from the Thousand Trails in Leavenworth, Washington we need to fill up our water tank first using our pump. First time let's see if it fits in the Jeep and works!
The drive up the Columbia River is beautiful with so many orchards. They are like artwork in the "V" shape to it more efficient to harvest. The mountains and the river provide a gorgeous backdrop for the start of our trip up to Canada and the ALCAN highway.
A channel viewer offered to show us Osoyoos for the afternoon and it was a memorable day. Views from the lookout were spectacular along with a secret racetrack (Area 27), wild horses, winery stops and a dinner at Row 14 Restaurant at a Cidery, Klippers Organics. A great way to end a fantastic day.
A drive up to Kelowna and a campsite on the lake offered another great end to a wonderful day. A food haul to the Real Canadian Superstore is another video.
Daily fuel stops will be a different sort of travel duty for us and they continue through this trip.
It will be fun and an adventure in a Class C plus, bigger than a vanlifer (Van Life) but smaller than a truck Super Class C. We'll scout out places for future visits to Alaska (there will be 4 of them).

    RV Camping
We like to Switch it Up between resorts and campgrounds.
Our journey is the destination. We want to share in our experiences in discovery of What's Next.
    I get my music from:
    Epidemicsound.com
    Tracks:
In the Palm of your Hand by Lindsey Abraham
    Sea Adventures by Bonnie Grace
What my Mama said by Humble Hey
Amazon Shop (no extra charge to you)
A convenient way to see (or buy) the items you see in the video's which may help in your adventure.
    www.amazon.com/shop/bigtruckb...
We use the TSD card for diesel fuel and save a bundle each time we fill up our Big Rig. We also use it to fill up our Onan generator.
The big blue boards (XL version) we use sometimes to get us "un-stuck" is from:
    Gotreads.com
Our Class C is built by Thor Motorcoach on a Ford F550 chassis. It's a production build Magnitude model XG32. We tow our red Jeep Wrangler Sahara behind it. We've made some modifications to it so that we can boondock comfortably. Lithium batteries, Victron 3000w multi-plus inverter, dual alternators charge while traveling and mods to the water system greatly enhance it's boondocking capabilities.
Our extreme completely custom 5th wheel is built on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and air brakes. Completely loaded it weighs 42,000 lbs rolling down the highway. And we do roll down the highway nearly every week. You see, we believe that if your home has wheels they should be used.
    Vehicles:
    2016 Volvo VNL780 "Voyager"
    2016 Smart fortwo "Pathfinder"
2019 SpaceCraft Custom built semi-trailer 5th wheel "Orion"
    2023 Thor Magnitude XG32 Class C "Curiosity"
    2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara "Artemis"
    Power system:
3250 watts of solar with Panasonic panels
    30.1 KWH of Lithium batteries
2- 4K watt Magnum Inverters deliver power as if we are on shore power
2- 4K watt 240v Cotek Inverters deliver additional power for our LG Mini split HVAC and stove
Coachnet is our roadside assistance company we use but hopefully we don't use them too often. LOL
We are not sponsored by Whataburger but I do enjoy them anytime I can get my hands on one. They used to be just out of Texas but they have expanded.

Actually not all of Canada have long cold winters…just as the US has States that also don’t have long cold winters. The Okanagon has quite mild winters as does most of Vancouver Island. There are eastern provinces that also have mild winters. Calgary, where I live generally have moderate winters & because of the Rockies, we have chinooks- warm aid descending upon us for about a week. During the 1988 Olympics it was warm enough that some people wore shorts and a couple of events had to be delayed or canceled because the snow had melted too much.
Oh, and drinking wine to stay warm is the worse thing you can do! It lessens your ability to sense cold.

Hi, been watching your Alaska videos and what great memories I am having while you drive the Alaskan Hwy! Hubby and I took this same route in 1996. New truck with a camper on the truck. Self contained too! I awoke at 2am this morning and all I could think of was our trip to Alaska. We left Indiana on May 11th, and woke up to snow!, Hubby has been gone now for over 5 years and I wish he was sitting here watching your adventure with me! I did put a small sign in the Sign Forrest! Muncho lake was a favorite! We stayed in Hanes before our trip home and had reservations on the Marine Hwy. Got a cabin and took the inner passage down to Bellingham, Washington and down the coast, thru Reno and home. I wish you many experiences in Alaska. Ours was a trip of a life time!
