love the guy waving at the ai car, thanking it for letting him in. Also, this video has convinced me to stay as far away from ai driven cars as possible

Waymo got impatient twice on this trip. I notice that on the "high speed" road it stayed in the left lane even though it would not have exceeded the speed limit.

right around 12:50 or 12:40 ish the path that is at the end of the left turn is like broken.

Waymo got kinda impatient with the heavy traffic and did reroute, but it did drive well

"Cruise accidently drove onto the on ramp of the bay bridge" can AI "accidently" do anything? Likewise "Impatient" has to be a human thing, can AI get "impatient"?
Not knowing the area there wasn't any commentary as to whether the re-routing was a good or bad decision, it seem to go in a completely different direction, but then the roads became a lot less congested so looked like it might have been a good decision.
Personally, I don't take too much interest in the routing, as that is pretty much the same Sat Nav technology used by driver and driverless cars. The Waymo does come across as a very confident system and the speed the corners are taken and the acceleration when the road opens up is impressive.

nothing good can come out of this It might be interesting but it's dangerous not having a person in control

You would hate to believe this technology has been running IN many states with a great safety record.

Nothing good? My wife works for the police and has to deal with road traffic accidents all the time. Humans are terrible drivers, easily distracted, not following the rules, or simply poor drivers. Self driving cars have the potential to fix all these issues, and make our roads much safer. Tesla to me are ones closest to solving automation, but you have to give Waymo credit too.

Nothing good can come out of saving millions of lives. And preventing millions of injuries.
