Thank you for the comment. From what I was reading that seems to be a pretty popular method. Either way you slice it or strip it in this matter they aren't anyway as easy as other designs. Although it does seem to be very appropriate for a Russian design from the period.
Lol, I'm wearing a Sarco shirt right now in bed and your video came up....smh,, Miss the time when Sarco had a TON of milsurp's in their store.. Always enjoy stopping in there on my way to Cabelas....be well.
I've only been able to buy from them online but every since I saw their ads in Shotgun News I imagined it had to be like a classic army surplus store smell and all. If I ever get to eastern Pennsylvania I'm going.
@@Alloy211 , Oh yeah has Cosmoline in the air once you enter the Door..... Parts Everywhere.... I spend hours in the place.. be well and Keep America Great 👍.
@@MegaBait1616 I'm glad it's just as I've invisioned it. I really do need to make it to eastern Pennsylvania. As long as we can hold true to the ideas of our founding, our nation will be great. I just hope all of our fellow citizens can understand that one day.
Thanks for the video. I got stripper clips for my Romanian Mosin Nagant, and they look exactly like the new ones but they are extremely hard to put any bullets through into the gun, and it is sometimes really extremely hard to put the stripper clip into the slot for the stripper clip and sometimes it's extremely easy and loose. I don't know if I should get better ones
You're welcome, and the best advice I can give is a little lame but I would try a few different mosin stripper clips to see if one type or brand or country of origin fit and functions better than others. Thanks for watching hopefully that helps a bit.
I have a bunch of the third kind of clips, I got them in a tin of really dirty ammo I suspect was a mid war production not used. It came with the ammo on the clips. You can easily bend them into shape. As for the repos, you can steel wool them or boil them to help make them a bit more slick as well as bend them. Also, make sure your interrupter and ejector are tuned as well as making sure the mag feeder is at the right angle. Doing this prevents rimlock and makes it not matter the top cartridge is behind the one on the bottom.
Sarco is awesome Paid $11.00 including shipping for 10 stripper clips. They had my bird cage flash hider for my cetme c308 Sporter so I could mount my bayonet as well. Great site! Thanks for the info.
Alex the Hun That makes me think about how lucky we are now to have such easy access to so many products. No more waiting for a gun and knife show hoping to find what you need. No more scouring pages of a catalog looking for something. That and the ability to really find the best price on a product is great. Thanks for watching.
Got some of the newer design Chinese versions. But my ammo is Russian surplus ammo from 1985. The case metal gets dug into by those little tabs at the end. Will try other ammo case types because these really bind. May try some dry lubricant like pencil lead or dry spray type. Your example went in somewhat without a major hitch. Mine are not functional yet.
They absolutely are especially given their longevity in service and relatively wide spread use. Anything that can help us connect to and understand the past is a plus in my book.
@@Alloy211 Yeah, we have the same book! I don't know if newer generations understand these histories and extreme sacrifices made. To me it's great to own a piece of it.

@@NgJackal1990 I have found some that appear to be the same design as those. Search for "Ultimate Arms Mosin Stripper Clip" and you should find those on Amazon. I think maybe you have a different rifle. As the clips don't go into the magazine just the ammunition. With these stripper clips you can use them either way.
@@Alloy211 no, I have a mosin, i am saying after the last round goes into the internal magazine and out of the clip, the clip will pop out. And, the way you inserted your clip, your bullets would have been rim locked because the most slanted bullet is always supposed to go in first
Ahh I see what you're saying. Although mine has never popped the clips out regardless of the clip I was using. I also haven't yet experienced rim lock with my Mosin. I appreciate the information though.
Rim lock dont exists if your mosin has an interrupter. My M91/30 D.O.B. 1935 has one so no issues with it inserting it either side for 3 plus yrs. Also that empty clip ejection happens to me once in a while...i really havent mastered it. Happens spontaneously.
I got me a set of Russian stripper clips complete with Izzy symbol on the back of the clip. I can tell you: trying to put a set of snap cap rounds in my 91/30 Mosin with this clip is a BITCH!! lol. I used the same clip on my M53 Chinese and it seemed to load rounds a lot easier in that model! Luckily I have some modern, I believe, clips so I'll try loading the 91/30 with those. Either way, its gonna take some practice as I'm not loading as easily as so many guys do on their video clips. No 1-push-&-you're-good-to-go here.
They definitely take a bit more finesse than either my K98k or Mas 36 to do it smoothly. My best luck has been with the new product clips but people can make surplus clips work well too. Hopefully the other clips work better and with a bit of practice you can get dialed in. Thanks for watching.
There's definitely a trick to the mosin. Once you get it down it's not too bad. Although even then to do it consistently is difficult. Thanks for commenting and for watching.
Sarco's website is a little hard to navigate at the moment but it's sarcoinc.com. Or you can search Aim sports mosin stripper clips and it will bring up a variety of sellers. Thanks for watching.
I just picked up some of these chines ones. I think they are trash. They do not fit well at all. They bind up even if you push from the back. I think the Russian ones are much better.
i have original russian, original east german, and original bulgarian that have never given me an issue. Ive used Chinese and reproduction ones like you said and they are dog shit.
I've not had a lot of issues with the modern production clips personally but I also don't use clips in my Mosin as much as with my Mausers. Appreciate your perspective.
I am a professional proponent of the nose lift trick, but mostly because I like the ejection. Good content.
