- I saw ぎゅうー the Japanese lance speedrunner do this and I thought I'd give it a shot and it was a lot more fun than I thought! Didn't really like the new skill, but it's not so bad except for the fact that you're locked in animation after the final poke and that the aiming is a bit wonky.
Might revisit this fight cause it was actually really fun zooming around Magna

I still prefer anchor rage! But the spiral thrust gives some really creative punishes, it is hard to aim and the endlag is a bit much for me but it's really fun!
Im late but spiral thrust lets you press x after the second thrust (as seen in the video) and that hit does the highest dmg the lance can do, 3rd charge of slap doesnt compete either. I main spiral for the mobility and the sweet numbers

The switch skills for the lance make it so much better imo, they’re harder to use so it makes it more skillful but also diversifies it, now you have two counters and a parry which all serve a different purpose instead of having anchor rage which is basically your best option 95% of the time
I've noticed that some of your second spiral thrusts go a shorter distance and position your hunter perfectly for the third poke. I seem to go through the monster and end up in weird positioning. Is there a way to stop your dash midway?
Hit a meatier part of the monster on your second charge so their body “blocks” your movement

I like to use that skill, but I just can't aim that second silk dash thrust consistently xD.

Hey great run! Inspiring me to get better at lance, I didn’t know about the third hit after the 2 dashes of spiral thrust. Would you mind showing a bit more of the build at the end in future vids? Such as full stat page, food skills, and switch skills. Really helps a noob like me. Keep up the awesome runs!

@@bluegloom666 that would be the switch skill Shield Charge that replaces the normal dash attack.
I always stick to the other switch skill for lance , cuz I am soo bad at parying with the spiral thrust 😭

Amazing run! I can't currently go under 6min against malo. Just a question about the build: are u using WEX3 and affinity augmentation right? Why no WEX and brutal strike augmentation? Thank you!
Brutal strike only has a chance to proc, so it doesn't proc per hit sadly making it worst to use than a standard WEX build.
At 2:39 was that instablock? I noticed you did this parry thing without the crosssweep coming out so I wonder if I’m missing something

It's a small boost (around 10 %) to your raw attack power.

Still waiting for PC. From a few videos I saw, Magnamalo have multiple attacks that have big knockback , but it seems like you're able to counter them (without being knockback) with Insta-block?
Thanks! Insta-block when timed correctly is adept guard so no knockback and less stamina drain and hopefully the wait for PC will go by fast.

What is your average time on attempts? 🙂
Average time on hunts is usually 4-5mins.
I tried lance a few days ago. It took me roughly..... 20-30 minutes to hunt a single monster and will die at least once for every hunt. Yeah....
