Thanks for the quick and simple tutorial, didn't realize it was this easy. Ive been wanting to play some of my childhood favorites for awhile now. Got a new sub
@amorgan5844 I seriously put it off for so long cause I thought it required alot of work lol, people made it seem like it's such a difficult thing to setup
You couldn't have made a better setup guide for Dolphin Wii & GameCube game. Heck, you even covered the Wii Remotes. Hopefully, some games don't require a Wii Remote, but I also wouldn't doubt it either. Just starting this up for the first time. Thanks so much for the help! Cheers!🍻
A note on using the widescreen (16:9) option, it can mess with graphics in certain games. For example im playing wind waker and it was fine until i go to the second island with the dragon on top. looked normal until the fire/ash effects (where you have to throw the bird girl) and then it got all wonky. Changed it back to the original aspect ratio and all is well. Hope this helps
Damn I just skimmed this to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything while helping a friend setup and you said a few things I didn't even know. Great tutorial, thank you so much!
Without a doubt the best setup guide for Dolphin out there. Whenever I re-install it after a factory reset, if I don't remember how to, I always come back to this video.
Really good video, thank you. A lot of people are too lazy to film real life footage of Wii/Wii U stuff that isn't just a screen capture so I appreciate you taking the time to film how the sensor bar works.
Bruh.. I'm installing and getting all major consoles emulator .. And for the hassle free experience, I search for the guide on youtube.. And you're the first one to pop up.. I click your video and don't have to search for the another video.. You're videos are so simple .. Thanks man

It doesn't hurt or affect anything for people who have graphics cards. But those using laptops or PCs with only integrated graphics will be pushing those CPUs hard and may get stutter during gameplay because of that. turning this on will eliminate that from happening.

Unreal man. Absolutely amazing. I have a massive massive gamecube + n64 collection right now, and i think im going to just sell it all and emulate from here on out. I bought myself a solid PC about 3 months ago and cant wait to use its potential!
one of my biggest regrets was selling my childhood collection. digital is great, dont get me wrong, but theres something satisfying about owning the games you like physically
YOU DO NOT NEED THE DOLPHIN BAR, unless you are using android or there are specific cases where your computer's Bluetooth doesn't detect it. If you want to use your pointer, just buy a cheaper USB sensor bar. All you need to do is set the wii remote setting to real wii remote, and press the sync button (only reliably works with 1st party wii remotes). If you have a motion plus, you can emulate the wii pointer without a sensor bar. Set the setting to emulated wii remote > Configure > Select the wii remote in the devices drop down. Go to controller profiles and select the Stock profile. Everything should be automatically configured. Also, forcing 16:9 may stretch games that never got official widescreen support. You could see if there is a widescreen hack for the game.
Appreciate the guidance, been wanting to play Skies of Arcadia for years and finally gave in to using an emulator. Got it set up in minutes with the help of your video. Thank you!
I ve been trying to install it for 2 days and you just saved my sanity. No other tutorial was as helpful as this one for getting the emulator to work. Thank you
A tip for people, when you first use this. I would suggest having the FPS ticked so that you can see how fast the game is running, if it is too laggy then you can turn the graphic settings down, if it is working fine then you can increase the graphic settings. When you find a happy medium, then you can turn the FPS off, as you will know that it has already been tested. Ouch, I am just trying this now and I am getting terrible stutter and game play is impossible, the screen flashes and audio is stuttering, I am using a 780 TI graphics card and an i7-3770K cpu with 16 gigs of ram. It should be enough to run this, I can run PS3 no problems at all. Oh well, time to have a play and see if I can get it working properly, as I swear I have run GC games on this set up before.
I honestly can't thank you enough for all your videos. I'm moving to linux and knowing I have all your videos for a quick refresh has made this part of switch over to linux by far the easiest. Just thank you man much appreciated.

Hey! Like the videos, by far the easiest to follow. Do you have any tips on downloading the ROMs themselves, or safe websites you use? I’m sure this has been asked millions of times, but very new to this
I typically use Vimm's Lair, they're pretty trustworthy. Always scan downloaded files of any sort w/ an antivirus just to be on the safe side of course.
Whenever i download it, it opens with 7zip as a 7zip file, and i can't seem to find the dolphin.exe with the icon. When i clock the normal dolphin.exe, it tells me it cant find the DLLs, even though they are right there.
You don't need GC and Wii stuff in the same folder, they can be in their own folders to maintain organization. You just need to add a second path for the emulator to scan, it allows multiple paths.
Wewwwww I love you man you explained it because you took your time to explain it and that's how I could figure it out unlike the other videos...God bless you. o7

Two things: 1. The dolphin bar is just a regular old sensor with a bluetooth adapter. (Also no affiliation with the emulator team). If your PC already supports bluetooth or you have a decent bluetooth adapter, use that instead and get yourself any ol' cheap usb or wall-powered sensor bar (the bar itself does not transmit data! It's just two sets of IR lights, even candles can work!) 2. The Dolphin emulator team finally removed the old "stable/archived" releases and changed the naming convention. What used to be called "Beta" are now plain releases.
