We often get asked if we PRE-STRETCH our watercolour paper and the answer is, we didn't used to, but are starting to do it more often as it really makes a HUGE differnce to the flat finish of the paper

Leave both the paper and wet tape for a couple more minutes until they have adsurb the water and expands. The paper will not be buckled. Leave to dry naturally and it will be super tight.

The brown tape doesn't have to be cut away, it will actually peel off if you re-wet it.

No we don’t. We never used to stretch at all, but are beginning to stretch our paper more often for our more finished work. We still don’t pre-stretch for practice or experiments 😊
