You absolutely need to check out his GDC talk. The entire thing is based on how he was forced into creativity in DOOM 2016 by a simple phrase: "No Guitars"
@@danielchettiar5670 Yeah, blended with Doom 1993 chainsaw sound. But the soundtrack lacked any guitars for about a year before the release. Also Rip and Tear was a first rejected attempt for a track with guitars and was added during the last week of development because they needed one more.
I have to mention that "The Icon of Sin" is the final boss track for Doom Eternal. It's not often reacted too, but it's perfect at projecting the scene of a Godzilla-like foe.
Mick's compressor is some wild stuff. If you ever used OTT, it's like massively cranked version of that - does both downwards and upwards compression, and he does like 50-60dB of dynamic reduction with it, effectively pushing the entirety of sounds into a flat line. Then you run something with reverb and whatnot into it and as it decays, it actually swells. It's wild. A thing of beauty.
The second half of this song is actually called Doom Hunted. The two songs and their respective levels actually come one right after another, as its kind of an extension of the aforementioned Cultist Base, so the person who mixed/edited this video kinda combined them together. Two of my favorites too tbh.
I loved how the person who uploaded this rip mixed up. It's such a shame we'll probably never get to hear Mick Gordon's final mix down release of Doom Hunted. It's one of my favs too.
Doom hunted is so unhinged. It’s a shame that it’s used so little in the game. That and mars core are definitely the most underrated tracks from the game.
I apologize, im gonna get weird here. This is my absolute favorite track. The first time I heard Cultist base it was visceral. I wanted to hear it so loud that it would throw me away, or blow me apart, just atomize me. I can't describe the way it makes me feel. A sonic assault that I want to give myself away to forever.
I know it's not technically Cultist Base, or a different mix of it I guess, but when I heard it in the official launch trailer I listened to it over, and over, and over. Just felt like I was vibrating and needed to go to the gym
7:48 is so insane it's part of another insane track(s) that is featured in ONE FRICKING SHORT ARENA ONLY in the whole game. It is called DOOM HUNTED and Doomed Hunter but do not mix those two with Doom Hunter which is cool but is not as insane as the the other two
Another try of getting you to watch Mick's GDC talk. In Doom 2016 there wasn't just one insane compressor, there were 2 chains of various stuff working effectively as compressors because input level is way more that they could bear, all to "corrupt" the source sine waves. And that's only half of the "Doom instrument"™
When she does I hope she listens to the "Geoffplaysguitar - PT-1X12 (Extended Version) [Atomic Heart]" uploaded by Сталкер. That version's audio quality is so much higher than the video by GWTC and also has a cleaner sounding intro. Plus it uses some bits from the official soundtrack added for example near the end so it's not a simple repeat of the song along the duration of the video.
One thing that stands out about your content is that you actually talk about the musical composition, personally I prefer it over most of the “producers react” content where they just loosely talk about the music after soying for 40 seconds
I would love to see a reaction of yours to Amon Tobin’s soundtrack for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory; while not as heavy or metal as this one, it’s quite an interesting and layered piece of music… In some of the tracks the bass is positively chunky, and some of its oppressive ostinatos work to great effect, besides the fact that Tobin is a master at working with beats on account of his earlier Jungle/DnB days. Also from him, I’d say Foley Room is his most interesting album, as it really does the title justice.
Hello . Nice to meet you . I am a die-hard fan of Doom Eternal and I am very interested in his music, especially in the field of rock and metal. I really like your reactions to my favorites.❤❤❤
I think you should react to Ace Combat music some time. My favorite part is how all the sound tracks are so different from each other in each game. Where Zero will some times go for Spanish guitars and more of the honorable type music and then Assault Horizon will just randomly explode into the gnarliest hard rock guitar solo I’ve ever heard. Then there’s 7 with the more uplifting and epic music. It’s insane how many different genres they smash into each game and they all turn out so awesome
There are many other games with remarkable soundtracks such as Skyrim (Ancient Stones, Dragonborn's Theme song etc), Mass Effect (Leaving Earth, Omega DLC theme etc), Dragon Age (Leliana's song, Inquisition theme etc), The Witcher (Battle music from Assassin of Kings i.e 2, And 3 is filled with awesome music) and many more...
I didn't know that I was looking for *nrnrnrnnrnr* to describe Doom to an unknowning friend when they asked about "what's the OST all about". but now, I know and will spread the word. :)
That ending portion is actually a whole new song entirely that Koma threw in there. It’s called doom hunted and it plays in the next level for only two arenas so most people don’t really know about it. It’s genuinely the most unhinged song in the game that was just a taste of it.
The music is even more insane when you're playing the game, only game i've played where i've turned the music UP. And once you've gotten too much play-time out of the game and moved on, you can still keep the music with you.
Do listen to "The only thing they fear is you" one of the best ones by mick gordan imo. Tho it's hard to find the original version and most of the stuff on yt is some version ripped from the game
Noosphere - Warhammer 4000: Mechanicus How would you like to hear something unlike anything you've ever imagined? Church bells for mortar shells and the Gregorian tech priests of humanity's far future. It has floored other music content creators.
Hi, I have a suggestion for a reaction video. The soundtrack from Dunkirk called 'Supermarine' is one of the most cinematically awesome movie scores I've heard and I think you would appreciate it. The buildup is insane and it pays off so well. Sometimes I'll listen to it to work in 2x speed when I'm doing homework or chores lmao. Seriously though, I really think you should react to it. Hans Zimmer has some insanely good scores.
I love the sound track of lineage 2 , it's medieval music , more flute and instruments acustics and strighs , but if you wanted more sounds tracks to other games.
I imidietly remumber how I run fast as i can about 10 mile of training around "chistie prudi" in Moscow, it's was a sunset, Red as FUCK sunset and this music just sterted to fucking my brain so the gourges boulding with tower on it on a hill lighted by Red sunset started to shot soul beams to the sky, all people blink as they almost ready to be ript apart for healcells .. But then one girl over run like she is on a rocketjump every step an for a second i hear through her bleeding hheadphones BFG 10K
A few other Mick Gordon recommendations from DOOM (2016) that you may enjoy: 1. Mastermind 2. Vega Core 3. SkullHacker 4. Cyberdemon 5. Transistor Fist First two are probably my favorites from that game along Rip & Tear and BFG Division.
You should check out Band-maid. A bit different than what you've been reacting to so far but really awesome and should make for some interesting reactions. I'd recommend the live version of Freedom, the live version of Sayonakidori, and the MV for Warning (unfortunately no live version on RUclips). All can be found here on RUclips and tons of people have reacted to them in the past so no copyright issues or anything.
I could recommend reacting to the Symphonic OST of Dragonquest XI Like Stake my life on it Endless battle Evil hands of shadows Bringer of the doom The Tower of Time
that harsh “synth” at the beginning was a processed recording of mick gordons neighbours lawn mower
also at the end
For real??? If so that's fucking dope and shows the skill in the making of this amazing product of a track
@VXKOUhow about he uses BOTH cause that sounds much better than one or the other
I believe it's also the weering that goes over the second half of the main riff
It's also in tottfiy
Nice to see you back! This song is like done with a synthed chainsaw and lawnmower, Mick Gordon is a high-functioning lunatic!
You absolutely need to check out his GDC talk. The entire thing is based on how he was forced into creativity in DOOM 2016 by a simple phrase: "No Guitars"
Yup... love synths though.
BFG's main sequence has a guitar tho, right?
@@danielchettiar5670 Yeah, blended with Doom 1993 chainsaw sound. But the soundtrack lacked any guitars for about a year before the release. Also Rip and Tear was a first rejected attempt for a track with guitars and was added during the last week of development because they needed one more.
@@chupasaurus it is only blended with the chainsaw on Hellwalker.
@@2yoyoyo1Unplugged Nope, from the top of my head BFG Division has chainsaw morph in hangs.
I have to mention that "The Icon of Sin" is the final boss track for Doom Eternal. It's not often reacted too, but it's perfect at projecting the scene of a Godzilla-like foe.
Definitely my favourite track in the game
100% got the same vibes from that track
What instrument do you play?
Mick Gordon: "chainsaw"
Well this time his instrument was a Lawn Mower
Mick's compressor is some wild stuff. If you ever used OTT, it's like massively cranked version of that - does both downwards and upwards compression, and he does like 50-60dB of dynamic reduction with it, effectively pushing the entirety of sounds into a flat line.
Then you run something with reverb and whatnot into it and as it decays, it actually swells. It's wild. A thing of beauty.
I just saw the intro to this on tik tok and came over to RUclips. I love seeing people who know and enjoy what they’re talking about. Thanks for this!
The second half of this song is actually called Doom Hunted. Doom hunted is so unhinged. It’s a shame that it’s used so little in the game. That and mars core are definitely the most underrated tracks from the game.
I always prefer the mixes the fans make out of the gamerips since idk they just combine the coolest parts of multiple tracks
I just saw your channel subscribed the moment I saw you can understand how good DOOM is. Your awesome have a great day.

It makes you feel unstoppable, I think is what you are trying to convey, and if that is correct I completely agree
Best Doom songs -
The Only Thing They Fear Is You
Cultist Base
BFG Division
In that order
Don’t forget about BFG 10k
Mick Gordon, truly the 🐐
Cultist Base does flood my brain with dopamine every time.
I thought i will never see your reaction to this, it's been a while and i am so glad you did come back
Ayyyyy she's back! Good to see you in my feed again 😊
7:48 is so insane it's part of another insane track(s) that is featured in ONE FRICKING SHORT ARENA ONLY in the whole game.
It is called DOOM HUNTED and Doomed Hunter but do not mix those two with Doom Hunter which is cool but is not as insane as the the other two
That shit was crazy my mind went blank and I went to instinct mode
I love rocking out to synthesized power tools lmao
Like, at 7:13, you can clearly hear a lawnmower/chainsaw being revved! Brutal.
First 10 seconds slap harder than the actual musical product itself LOL
Another try of getting you to watch Mick's GDC talk. You just gained a fan and a follower! Your giggling when you hear Mick Gordon mastery makes my happy!!
Check out the Mechanicus OST its wild and you probably haven't heard anything quite like it before.
Noosphere is one of the greatest composed songs of all time
I think i may have found my new favorite YT'er! They way you resonate with music is JUST how i feel! It just hits right in your soul.
Absolutely love your takes and reactions. You should also check out Doom 2016 OST "Mastermind"
Would you consider re-visiting the Ultrakill soundtrack? The Death Of God's Will is an incredible song, so much emotion gets conveyed so well
I can't wait to see you do PT-X12 from Atomic heart. This is like pre-game for that track. It comes out of nowhere for such a fire boss fight.
When she does I hope she listens to the "Geoffplaysguitar - PT-1X12 (Extended Version) [Atomic Heart]" uploaded by Сталкер. Welcome back Em, with a banger on top of that !
Been a while, glad you’re back and looking forward to your commentary and insight again!
The Chainsaw Breakdown! So good!

You should listen to UAC Atlantica by David Levy, he's the other composer for the Doom Eternal DLC and he rocks as much as Hulshult and Gordon
If you end up doing more react videos, I would love to watch your reactions to Tool. An amazing band with beautiful and intricate music. 🤘
PLEASE HAWAII PART II PLEASE ITS SO FUCKING GOOD OMFG
Man my day was going horrible until hopped on to youtube and you topped my recommendeds. Welcome back, so glad you are, making my day 🎉
7:11 Mick Gordon is a f****** SAVAGE... and I adore him for it 😅
That processed instrument at 6:05 sounded like a hellish saxophone!
Mick is the MacGyver of synth metal :D
By far my favorite track in modern Doom games Mick Gordon is such mad genius
Wonder if she will listen to the Killer Instinct soundtrack since it’s by the same composer but very diverse in terms of genres.
Mick Gordon: Guitar🚫Lawnmower and chainsaw✅
The mix you listened to also includes "DOOM Hunted," which starts at 7:47
It just makes my day seeing music producers and artists react to doom themes! I would recommend listening to "BFG 10k". You would probably like it!

We're all in love with Mick and what he made for DOOM.
0:55 "or whatever he's using" is definitely right...
Knowing mick, it could be a jet engine or a circular saw too...
you should check this out: ALEX TERRIBLE - DOOM ETERNAL - BFG DIVISION
looking at her upload rate, maybe we'll get it in 10 years lol
Just when you think it can't get any better- IT DOES
the fucking outro SLAPS

regular musicians: I need a instrument in order to make music.
Mick Gordon: Just give me a Chain saw and a human bone. (no joke, he used this)
Yeah.
Loveing the Doom coverage.
"flossing your brain" is such a great quote lol

Mick makes some of the sickest metal sounds.
Happy 30th Anniversary to all my Doom Slayers out there. Rip n tear!
Severed steel is another incredible game and sound track combo
The stuff in the gdc talk will blow your fucking mind
You might like the Metal Gear Rising vocal tracks, “It has to be this way” is the goat
The best Doom track will forever be "Into Sandy's City".
Andrew Hulshult made a phenomenal version of it.
i fell in love
that high part reminds me of Patrick star saying wee woo.
Could you listen to Maia's Club (Original Soundtrack) from the game Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt
This is a different version than I'm used to. Like an extended version of something.
Do "the only thing they fear is you". Banger of a song and one you've mightve heard before.
Id love to see you play the original DOOM for an hour or so & then Uograde to Eternal.
This woman is too cool for me
fuck hell, doom's soundtrack hits hard
I love the sound track of lineage 2 , it's medieval music , more flute and instruments acustics and strighs , but if you wanted more sounds tracks to other games.
What Mick brings to work with him everyday ⛽🪚🎚
You gotta listen to e1m1/at dooms gate listen to the original first then mick Gordon’s reimagining
I like BFG 10k because of those electronic clicking sounds at the pauses
In most video games the music warns you about the enemies approaching, in doom, the music warns the enemies about you😂

Fun fact idk what music he used it for but he used an instrument made out of im prett sure human bones or an animal which is metal af
You should check out some if the portal 2 ost. There are some of the industrial metallic wibes but in a different direction.
I would love it if she could listen to the Risk of Rain 2 soundtracks!
You should check out the “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze” Soundtrack.
I get old school NIN vibes from some of their more 'unusual' tracks.
I could recommend reacting to the Symphonic OST of Dragonquest XI
