It feels like this is the demo version of the song; recorded at 3:30 in the morning after too many cigarettes and too much alcohol, all messy and angry and full of pain. And then the original version is the more sleek and polished song that came out of it. Personally, I prefer this version. The original wasn't raw enough for a song about heartbreak.
Superpancakeninja is technically right- he is flat on a lot of his yells but thats what I love about him. The imperfections give the song way more depth and emotion then autotune could ever give. It's more interesting to listen too
to those who don't know, the song is intentionally messy and a little out of tune. It's suppose to be like the lyrics had actually just happened to him, some heartbroken boy singing his heart out while choking back tears.
This guy Frank man hes awesome..so raw and passionate and still has a good range. Those notes are hard to hit and the complicated triplets man. Hes awesome :)
@SuperPancakeNinja Hes in key, i think some of his chord choices made some bits sound funny though, but its his spin on the song so i dont think it matters
Almost forgot about this cover. Had some crazy non-drug induced visions while listening to this a few years ago. Nothing spiritual, just an intense narrative.
I hear the Killers, and I think goddamn this is a great song! All of them. And the Fucking Frank Turner takes a whack at it with a different feel and its still pretty good.
I love this song. I love both versions but this ones better then the original so well that's my opinion if you look on my channel I've done a music video of losing days by frank turner. I like the video but I'm doing much better vids on video star now I was younger then and I didn't understand I'll hopefully upload them soon
How though? Tell me how the original is better than this!?!! SO much more emotion put into this version. Sounds like you're listening to the entire song even though it's just frank and his guitar..

PolarBearMama37 I concur
How am I just seeing this now 9 years later. Frank, I hope you can make it back out to Phoenix someday.
June 12th this year. Go see him :)

You're not fooling anyone, Gonzalo Higuain.
Anyone else end up thinking he had the lyrics written on the insider of his eyelids?
He's a passionate performer who seems to focus by closing his eyes. I guess.
"I just can't look, it's taking over me....". :)
This has a lot more feeling in it than the original...
Wow.....great....a real rock star....taking something and making it his own and killing it!!
I like both versions. If you don't like that, I don't care.
Doesn’t matter, solo or with a band; just awesome!

I really like this cover , congrats
The “calling a cab” line always reminds me of Bowie’s Queen Bitch.
back again watching this. thanks again frank.
Is Frank physically capable of preforming any song badly? I have my doubts haha.
2:14 Not sure if he meant to do that or just forgot the lyrics....
qscvkg he looked like he smiled right after. He probably just messed up lol
Frank Turner too punk for NME fans
awesome cover most covers of this song suck but he made it work
wonderful cover :)
Frank Turner and God are synonymous.
@SuperPancakeNinja Hes in key, i think some of his chord choices made some bits sound funny though, but its his spin on the song so i dont think it matters
3:52 I'm gonna watch it again
many years later and many messups, still better :)
Frank Turner is a kind of god
Good job Frank!
Love This!
I realise this is blindingly obvious, but Frank would be an amazing busker
This is Awesome
good.I loved this cover, I normally hate covers
Has anybody figured out the chords?
Wow, perfect....
Almost forgot about this cover. Had some crazy non-drug induced visions while listening to this a few years ago. Nothing spiritual, just an intense narrative.
just as well theres the big 'nuts' signs in the background then!
god damn back again.

anyone know the chords he plays?

That's not true, one of them actually exists.
She toched his chest a lot in this version! hahahaha
okay.
Most people here don't seem to know what "key" is.
I love you. No Homo.
You don’t need to like something because the person doing it has a past history of being awesome.. this was horrendous.

This is so not like him at all. Listen to the "Amy" songs.
This is so gd but i admit he was out once or twice but its barely
he could have learnt the words lol, still a great cover though :)
as much as I love Frank Turner, I think the killers do this better
Probably my favourite artists and a great song but I don't think they go together to be honest.
Jesus Loves You
Not sure about this, kinda sounded like he was shouting
lol wut was that and why are people saying its good...
Because you touch yourself at night...
This song looks and sounds like it was as painful for him to sing as it was for me to listen to.
Nope
Oh his voice is so out of key for the most part :/
So are Johnny Rotten and Joe Strummer. Wtf is your point?
@@mattpriebe8991 i wish i could remember the point i was trying to make 11 years ago
@@SuperPancakeNinja time is a flat circle
God thats awful, woah
No offence to frank turner fans but this is no comparison to the real song
How though? Tell me how the original is better than this!?!! SO much more emotion put into this version. Sounds like you're listening to the entire song even though it's just frank and his guitar..
+Nathan Daldry The emotion is in the musical metaphor for anger and swirling thoughts of doubt surrounding the singer in the original.
Anger and swirling thoughts of doubt which are conveyed better by frank imo
I would personally pick the original, but at least we have both versions.
Nathan Daldry the original is on the same level as this. both are good
shitty song?
this is absolutely fucking horrible
