@@angelousmortis8041 I love live versions of songs, but this audio is mixed terribly. They needed less audience and more from the band’s microphones to not be drowned out. It’s about balance, no need to clutch your pearls.

They were so epic live, everyone was singing their hearts out and arms in the air, truly an anthem
The set was awesome. The crush outside the gates before the start not so much unfortunately. We were at the front of the q for 45 mins holding people back.

@@willelliot8928 yeah if you're further back then people aren't really that interested unfortunately. you have to go beforehand and get right to the front - everyone around me knew all the words and was bouncing to every song
@@8tj we virtually ran from the 1975 to the killers and were still pretty far back, you'd have to wait there for an hour at least beforehand

The energy of 90,000 people singing the song that came out 20 years ago makes performing it at every concert seems worth it. One of my all time favorite bands, and such a brilliant song!

I always found their pretentiousness "cheap", forced and sometimes even amateurish and/or silly. Especially the vocalist.

The Killers know they've hit gold when a crowd of thousands sing one of their biggest hits back to them like Reading have....the feeling the band must feel to have this song sung back/with them must be amazing and something they must be so proud off.
I still remember how they did the same for Green Day for BOBD back in 2013 it was amazing to see. I’m in the US but it’s my dream to attend a show in Reading one day, the crowd there is always so amazing and full of life!

Compared to the debut albums of their post-punk revival peers such as The Strokes, Interpol and even Arctic Monkeys... Hot Fuss is not even close.

They've always said they will forever play Mr. Brightside at 1000% in the UK. It is, after all, where it all really began for them.
How they managed to play 2 completely different versions of this awesome track was just incredible. My new favorite version of the best song ever. Thank you all!

I think the first version is a remix of the Jaques Lu Cont version.
The background is 100% that version in the first part.
@@rubenmunoz6486that’s correct! On their setlist it’s usually called “Brightside 50/50”, half is the remix and half is the original. It’s pretty rare they play just the straightforward original version live, but they do it occasionally. I like both a lot!

Even if they’ve “fallen off” mainstream wise it’s gotta be wild knowing you’ve made one of the biggest songs of all time.
I like the fact that they now just make stuff that don't really sound like mainstream songs, so they're just making whatever they like, instead of just redoing what made them famous, reminds me of Arctic Monkeys in that way.
You can't even say they've fallen off that much tbf. Headlining R+L, going back out on an arena tour. They might not "on top" anymore but they're definitely not falling into irrelevance either.
Every Rock band has fallen off mainstream charts because the Charts now is a total shit show which most music fans ignore. Years ago Rock, pop and punk made the charts now it’s just that annoying hip hop/pop crap. Mainstream radio doesn’t help matters by deliberately ignoring new rock songs.

I saw a video of the Killers at the Glastonbury Festival a few years ago and decided to go to Reading this year.
Thank you for the wonderful scenery. It was the best moment of my life.

This band, this song, the festival, the crowd. Absolute perfect performance, with everything made for everything else. This wasn't just a performance of a song, this was a performance of a national anthem, and everyone performed it with pride.

The crowd for the most part is probably younger than the song, and they’re enthralled, carrying the tune, singing it word for word. Incredible the impact and staying power. Perhaps the greatest concert and pop tune ever.

@@devinvennethey aren't the original guitarist and bassist. It's a bit of a weird set up, they're both part of the band still but don't tour with them. Dave (the original guitarist) is missed I think as he had fantastic stage presence and was a proper rock star.

I don’t think it’s really shame, it’s just they get soooo tired of playing it for the 10 millionth time. Look up Guns N Roses Axl stops sweet child o mine mid song. He just got sick of playing it, and then the artists feel people don’t care about their newer stuff.
I've watched a lot of live performances in my time and I don't know if I've ever seen anyone enjoy themselves on stage as much as Brandon Flowers here
He's like this at most concerts.... his energy is contagious. He brings it every show.

After their show in Denver, Colorado 17 years ago, I went to a Brit pop club called “Lipgloss” where the drummer Ronnie appeared. He was on the dance floor when THIS song came on, and it caught him by surprise. He was embarrassed by it, however the people he was with encouraged him to stay on the dance floor and dance to his own song. I’ll never forget how he looked dancing to his own song...so humble, happy, whilst enjoying it with the other people on the dance floor who had no idea he was in their presence.❤️
This song is 20 years old and most of the crowd don’t look much older than 20 years old.. truly timeless music

I love that the Killers sign off their shows like this with Brandon, who rightly gets a lot of the attention, going off first and giving the spotlight solely to his bandmates so that the focus isn't just on him. And my goodness me Ronnie Vannucci Jr. can jolly well drum!!!
Been a casual fan for years but had a chance to see them live last year. One of the best concerts I've ever attended. They put on a phenomenal show.

Been listening to the killers since I was a toddler as both my parents are massive fans and have seen them probably close to half a dozen times or so. Feel so grateful I finally got to see them live at Reading and it was better than I thought, they absolutely smashed it!!

Takes me right back to the good ol' days. this song still gives me wild flashbacks to when my biggest worry was homework haha. The only thing coming close to this these days is The Doublejumps (band from New Zealand). Wish there were more guitar bands around now 🎸. Where's this generations Killers??

How these boys have grown up. Saw them pre release of Hot Fuss at the Reading Fez Club in front of fewer than 200 people. Met the band afterwards, had a chat in a stairwell. They stared at their converse. So shy. Now look at them.

I often roll my eyes when I hear this played at a sporting event, in a pub, at a wedding, birthday party, funeral or work Christmas party. But the fact that it is always played at all those different types of events demonstrates its impact, and when you see it performed like this you realise how powerful it is.

I'm a 63 yr old grandma and I love singing (badly) along with the Killers!! WOW What a blast this concert must've been!!. It's a very energetic and just a damn good time everyone had!!! ❤💖🤩
