How much did the Haslems pay you to make this video? They are trying to get the largest tax payer funded stadium project in the country from one of the poorest cities in the country. The last NFL stadium that cost over $2billion to build was completely financed by their team owners in a city significantly better off than Cleveland. If the Browns want to move the stadium they should pay every penny themselves and not demand $1.2 billion taxpayer dollars
I agree, wholeheartedly, we pay enough taxes already. The tickets are already sky high. I choose to watch them play at home. I am saying this to someone who will say you do not have to attend the games. He( Haslem) should pay for it himself
NOT ONE DIME OF TAXPAYER MONEY SHOULD GO TO ANY KIND OF STADIUM. This won’t transform a damn thing, just a continuation of the same CRAP we’ve had to endure since they came back.
Exactly! This is crazy. If they were going to build this; they should have done it when the original stadium was torn down. What’s wrong with the current stadium? Cleveland isn’t even WORTH 1 billion dollars!
They hide the suites well in their artistic rendering. The suites are like mini luxury condos that include kitchens and bathrooms. The taxpayers don't benefit at all.
@NormanBaldwinJr you need to actually drive into the area where this proposed stadium is going to be. Traffic will absolutely be a problem on game day unless major road improvements are made in the area.
"Economic Activity" does not equal tax revenue. If the Browns want half of this to be paid for by 'public funding', then they have to show when the 'public funding' would be recouped by increased taxes, fees etc.
CORRECTION: The stadium where the Cleveland Browns play is no longer called FirstEnergy Corporation Stadium. It is now called Huntington Bancshares, Inc. (Huntington Bank division) Field. 🏈👈😃👍
Correct! As someone who works there it’s Huntington Bank Field. Also construction is not underway on the new stadium. Funding hasn’t even been approved yet. When the new one opens it will also be called Huntington Bank Field.
If you actually think that a domed stadium will be built in Cleveland (or Brookpark) I’ve got some bridges for you. As soon as the politicians screw it up, and they will, the state will pull any support which will cause the franchise to leave NE Ohio. Haslem will wind up in Columbus. The state will step in at that point, ( it’s Columbus after all) and NE Ohio will be paying for a stadium for our old team in Columbus.
I'm not a Browns Fan as I'm originally from Hartford, CT and I live in Parma, Ohio. They want the Ohio Tax payers, especially the ones who live in Cuyahoga County to pay for this stadium. Are they going to give out tickets to the People of Cuyahoga County? How about if the Brownies started to win before they start to ask the residents of Cuyahoga County to shell out 2.5B? Don't tell me about the local economy, as it's only 8 games a year and those multibillion dollar stadiums sit empty 95% of the year.
It will be a waste land in less than 10years. Tickets will be out of reach for 99% of the locals. North east Ohio is not a commuter friendly area. Folks want entertainment at their doorstep/walking/uber away.
If this provides growth to the area, that is all that counts. Most fans do not live in Cleveland proper anyway. The city may have built the present stadium, but it also received millions in revenue. The lake front can now be used to build a smaller dome for the Indians and expand the Cav's facility. Wake up people we need to move forward not remain stagnate.
Cleveland is my hometown but traditionalists would rather die stagnant then easily progress and become better. Folks DEFINITELY need to wake up. Unreal but not surprising that Cleveland is fighting this.
It won't. Does anyone honestly think cleveland is a relocation city? Why because of its great weather and superior educational systems? Or because of the safe city streets and non corrupt suburbs? GTFOH rube.
Wow, so many negative comments. May I suggest you guys spend a bit more time brainstorming how you can profit from this relocation vs how much tax dollars will go towards this project.
We built a stadium in 1999 and haven't won't a super bowl, so what's your point. Since we can't have good product on the field might as well have good product off the field.
The city of Cleveland has invoked the Modell Law, so the likelihood of this proceeding is very low right now… The law was put in place following the Browns relocation to Baltimore. They either have to stay in Cleveland or offer the team up for sale.
@ It does matter, because The City of Cleveland built the stadium for them, NOT The City of Brook Park. If it didn’t matter, then The City of Cleveland would not have invoked it 🤦♂️
@@scorpitarius Don't kid yourself my friend, the loss of tax & business revenue in downtown Cleveland is gonna matter a whole lot. Brookpark is a city suburb in NE Ohio & has nothing to do with the city of Cleveland. Other than being one of the surrounding cities on the outskirts of Cleveland, that's it, period, ya dig? The city of Cleveland will take a major hit if the BROWNS play their games in Brookpark in a few years. Sure we still have other entertainment venues downtown. However, BROWNS games are & have always been a big part of the city of Cleveland's revenue during the fall & winter months. Just saying...
Why does it seem like the ppl of Cleveland hate to move into the future? Isnt this why Art Model moved the Browns in the first place? Cleveland didn't want to build a new stadium then but instead keep the browns playing in that old run down Municipal Stadium.
Modell was a carpetbagger. He didn't want to pay for anything....as bad as Cleveland politics can be, I think he had just decided he wanted what worked for him and could care less about Cleveland. No different than the crap that was pulled in Baltimore and Oakland over the years.
So what's your recommendation. They are the Browns, not the Oranges right. Should the helmets be brown with a 💩 on the side of it. Matches what they really are right, a 💩 stain 😂😂😂😂 What can brown do for you?
@ The city of Cleveland is still paying on the old stadium so no way will they contribute. The County gave a hard no already and the state will most likely say no as well. Throw up a few renders and people think its a done deal.
I am fairly sure the state of Ohio and Cuyahoga County have thousands of things to better spend this money on than giving it to a BILLIONAIRE. Use your own money Jimmah, you hill billy. Maybe this new facility would get 1 Super Bowl, maybe 1 final 4. And a handful of concerts that could have been housed at Rocket Mortgage. If Jimmah does get $1.2 billion from the state, all Ohioans should get free tickets to any event that the new dome hosts.
Help us fight this! Nobody in Cleveland wants this except Jimmy and the rich suburbanites. Tell the state you don’t want a dime of your taxes going to a Browns dome that’s not even in Cleveland! 🙏🏼
I can't wait for the 2029 season! The Haslams just have to win that ridiculous waste of time lawsuit and it is good to go! I can't wait for construction to start hopefully soon! We need it! 🏉🏈🏟🇺🇸
It is NOT under construction despite the claim in this video.
No it’s for sure not but I hope we get it we are cursed in our old stadium.
No where near. Lol. They are going up on our taxes
Correct. Whether it is built or not. Whether it’s the Cleveland Browns or San Antonio Browns, Haslam is a terrible owner.
They have cleared the land
@ that maybe but there no for sure shot that we are moving I pray we are but that is not for sure.
How about we build a good team and then you want a new stadium pay for it instead of the tax payers picking up the tab
Build the stadium! Period!
70k seat capacity, that's a lot of disappointment under one roof...

It's all about the extra stuff. If it were about the football then a dome/roof could be built around the current stadium.
Jimmy gets richer at CLE's expense. Sad.
Stadium won’t even break ground lol
There will be no easy access it will be a traffic nightmare
You need to re-watch the video.
@NormanBaldwinJr you need to actually drive into the area where this proposed stadium is going to be. Traffic will absolutely be a problem on game day unless major road improvements are made in the area.
