Definitely going to make one for me and granddaughter. Instead of sewing plastic canvas to bottom, I will make a double bottom lining with extra layer folded back to slip plastic canvas inside. Thanks!

Crystal, for the bottom of this bag you said to crochet 10 rows. By chance can I do more than 10 rows. Will this distort the purse, I want to do at least 5 more additional rows. I want to make the bag a little wider. If you remember, I know you have done a lot more videos since then and trying to think back can be daunting sometimes. You are so easy to follow and I really like your designs. Don't stop, please keep them coming. lol

when i watch others put a liner in, i mess up, i cant use a sewing machine at all but you made it so easy for me to stich it in, and the whole bag was easy to do

I would love to have that bag especially because of all of the butterflies. I love butterflies and have 7 of my own little butterflies, they are my fur babies, Papillions which is French for butterflies. History lesson over.
I'm going to be looking at goodwill / value village thrift purses differently now for salvagable handles.. lovely fabric inside, I love butterfly anything. I'm going to have a go at this one for a book bag / travel yarn bag to crochet in the park this summer

I had a thought while watching you start the sides of the bag. It might be easier to put the plastic in after the first single crochet row of the sides. I like this one, simple and easy.

Crystal, with the lining I think it would be easier if you measure down 2 inches from the point mark a line then open the bottom up & stitch on the line it should measure 4 inches across, & is less fiddley. Just a suggestion.

nice pattern. sadly my super bulky was too bulky. I think it's actually a #7 rather than #6 which is on the label. (Yarn Bee soft & sleek super bulky)...my base was 20 1/2" and it looked like a boat or a suitcase, rather than a purse. I'll try this again with a smaller #6, like Bernat Softee Chunky or Wool Ease Thick n Quick. Lesson: compare your base to the pattern, before you get too far. 😊 Thank you so much for the liner lesson. I've been intimidated by bag lining, but you explain it so well, it looks pretty easy!
