I am always amazed at how much work goes into the restoration of small objects that look like junk! You are very talented & capable. Mesmerising. The direction, propping, quality of your filming and your production and sound/audio values are all outstanding. My mother would have called this an evening bag, a jewel-like tiny purse on a long chain to take into an evening function such as a white or black tie dinner, or a dance. The discovery of the lady’s name, Alina, on a tiny scroll inside a rusting locket, is the start of a classic novel. I found it touching and rather emotional when you placed it back inside at the end. Alina is looking down on you, smiling, with a tear in her eye.

I remember purses like that back around 1977, we used to call them "disco" purses. A lady would wear them to go dancing without having to take a handbag with her. There was enough room for a lipstick and some cash. Watching from South Florida,USA.

🌸 Agreed as soon as I saw skull, I realised it was toxic And once it showed results next day, noticed it was acid I have skull bottle too but I keep my strongest home made rum in it 😅 It’s to remind me not to smell or drink too fast 🤣😂

I have an old turn of the 20th century French purse, comprised of cellulose and silver. It’s one of my favorite things because it’s so beautiful, and things like that just aren’t produced like that anymore. It has intricate little hand etching to make it look like ivory. It’s absolutely a treasure and I love that you find items like that, and give them back the beauty they once had. They will never be reproduced as beautifully, in my eyes. ❤

Oh a 12, thanks so much for this video. We happen to live next door to a house that was built in the 1800s. One Summer when we had a drain field put in, I was able to dig before the dirt was replaced. I found several old bottles, plates and two pieces of cosmetics. One I believe is a small tube of lipstick and the other cheek rouge. After watching your video, I will try the WD40 a try again to open them. Thanks again

It makes me wonder what women carried in those dainty purses back then.The only thing that I can think of are coins, a tissue and a key. Any other suggestions? 🤔🤔
Victorian women hardly wore any make up. It was considered tacky. They really didn't need much because men would pay when they would go out. This isn't an everyday purse.

Beautiful work. These aren't technically handbags, but rather a tiny clutch. They were used for cash and possibly a lipstick. This looks 1920s era.

You did a lovely job restoring the purse. FYI it is probably from the 1970's. I owned a similar purse around that time. They were very popular then. I still have mine.

Oh a 12, thanks so much for this video. We happen to live next door to a house that was built in the 1800s. One Summer when we had a drain field put in, I was able to dig before the dirt was replaced. I found several old bottles, plates and two pieces of cosmetics. One I believe is a small tube of lipstick and the other cheek rouge. After watching your video, I will try the WD40 a try again to open them. Thanks again
