Bonjour, je pense que vos restaurations sont inestimables. Donc, vous donner une note quelle qu'elle soit, ne serait pas à la hauteur de vos exploits. Merci pour les partages.😉✨
The modern lobster claw clasp was patented in 1996, but its predecessors date back to 1959 and 1976. The lobster claw clasp first appeared on jewelry in the 1970s, making it a common feature on retro bracelets and necklaces.
The perfume should be that of the one you prefer on the woman you give the bottle to as a gift. Excellent restoration I have one similar from my great grandmother.
Again 1010, i collected perfume bottles as a child and this beautiful piece makes me want to start again! Great restoration, your attention to detail is impeccable, from Blighty 😊
You can tell the age of a piece of jewelry by the clasp. If this piece had a lobster claw clasp attached to it, it is not that old. They were first introduced in the 1970s, although some say earlier - 1950s
Also you can guesstimate the age bested in the “enamel”, which has clearly faded from its original appearance! Real, baked-on enameling might chip with age, but the color would not fade in just 150 - 300 years. I agree with the 1970’s or 80’s being an appropriate age for it. 😅

Based on the jewelry hardware, I think this is a modern reproduction, not a Victorian era piece. The lid looks like it's plated (chromed?) but that wasn't done until the late 20s and the lobster claw clasp wasn't invented until the 50s and not popularized until the 80s. The chain, although in use in earlier times, wasn't a style popularly used until the 60s. Also, the ring that looks like a little spring is called a split ring. They weren't invented until the late 30s and weren't used for jewelry until much later. Lastly, if this was for a high end piece, the jump ring would have been soldered, and all hardware and chains would probably have been brass or gold-plated brass. So my best guess is that this is a replica piece from the 70s-80s. Also, as a side note, it's much easier to open jump rings front to back, instead of pulling them apart.
Hello! The cap and bottle are old. I only have suspicions about the chain and the clasp. They are possibly more modern. Where are you watching from?🌍😉 Have a nice day!☀️

Unless this has been restored before, it didn't come from the 19th century. I was confused about the clasp at the end of the chain. I found this online: "The lobster clasp came into use in the late 1970s". Which is the type of clasp it is. The perfume bottle and chain might be antique, but the clasp is not..
Greetings! I also think that the clasp is from another period. But the bottle is definitely old. Thank you for your information. Where are you watching from?🌍😉 Have a nice day!☀️
