Thanks for the help, I still don't have any axles, hopefully the ones I'm going to look at this afternoon will work. They're out of a 78 Bronco. Great video!
You’re welcome, glad to help, yeah those should work since 78-79 bronco has the same setup at the trucks. 4x4 had 31 spline axles so it should have the heavy duty 31 spline axles since all broncos were 4x4. Good luck, hope it works out for you. Thanks for watching.
You’re welcome, but that’s strange, someone must have swapped that in there some time because ford never put 8 inches in trucks. Either way I’m glad I could help, good luck on the build. Thanks for watching.
@@FastFords289 there was also an 8.8” for a short time (yes ford) but they never have tags and were made extinct through revisions. Nothing aftermarket fits them.
@@1961Bullet sure did, a lot of the 80’s ford trucks had the 8.8, which I’ve never really been a fan of the 8.8’s. They also put them in the cars and slit of people will swap those in if they can’t find a 9 in. @FastFords289 it's a brand new housing from Quick performance, I belive it had bi bearings torino ends on it. Things get crazy in the aftermarket. Great video.

Great videos on these rearends, I watched your other one as well... What about axle flange gaskets, didn't see you use them? I have original ones on my 28 spline 9 inch, but am having difficulty locating new ones with the shape of my flange. It was out of a Ford F100, I believe 1964, but not positive on the year. Any place you use or recommend that specializes and carries parts for these 9 inch Ford rearends? Thanks so much!
That’s great to hear, I’m glad you like them and they helped you, thanks so much. Honestly I just reused mine because the original ones are stamped steel gaskets and they were in good shape plus you have the internal seals to keep dirt and moisture out. However you should be able to get them at your local auto parts store, I know I bought them in the past but I don’t know the part number. If they can’t find them then LMC truck or national parts depot, check pony parts or summit racing should have them. They should also have a diagram showing the flange shape with sizes and specifications to the different ones so you can match yours up. Ford used three different flanges on their rearends over the years and if you have a 64 that should be the early style smaller version to the best of my knowledge. Good luck and I hope this helps, and hope you continue to watch. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching.
Big ford style axles and housing. Those housing can use the 28 spline sealed roller bearing or the 31 spline tapered bearing. I converted mine from the 28 spline set up to the 31 spine setup with no modifications. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
