you also need a new oil pump and oil cooler, line boring the block would have been a good idea also. also remove the oil filter housing and clean the relief piston,
What makes you think that? I've never heard of a crankshaft getting bent from main bearings locking up at idle. This is my first diesel engine this big. I've done this kind of work on the 7.3 international engine but obviously that's a different design and alot smaller
Roll a set of Maon Bearings and try the engine cheapest way to do it. Ya its not a totaL rebuild but put the bearing in and see if you can crank the engine you mifhr get lucky but the engine was run with no oil for sometime or until it locked up ? Diwn load the computer to see how long the engine after it went for travel to engine stop
I had someone with a laptop come check but there wasn't anything to show us that. It has a c16 ecu with modifications and a tune so he didn't want to mess with much or dig too deep.

Thanks for the tips!
Man I really enjoyed your rebuild please finish and show the truck rolling
Check out the new video I just loaded. I'm back now and will have one every few days.
I don't think there's anything stupid about what your doing . Your making due with what you got . More power to you
Thanks!
BD, great news that the crank is in good shape, hope the motor last for a long time.. cool looking Kenny W900
Thanks dude!
Making Progress everytime!!!!!!!😎🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🇺🇸
Yes sir! 💪💪💪💪💪
Hope it works I have seen a lot crazier stuff done than that and it worked
I meant to put in some of the finished pics when editing but forgot so the thumbnail I put the before and after. Seemed to turn out good
I would definitely do a full rebuild
& how much did pay 4 that damaged truck in the online auction & wow that alota work 2 get back to like new😮
Check out the video of the actual auction. It was a Rollercoaster of emotions for me ruclips.net/video/4wBXDc0YAbE/видео.html
My concern would be the thrust bearings
They still looked brand new.
Your truck your $$$ how eva ya feel go for it YO
Appreciate you!
Your crankshaft is probably bent. Your block is going to need align bore.

You'll be able to tell once all the bearings are in and torqued to spec. If you can still bar the engine over easily you may luck out.
I would run a little heavier oil and I would say your all good. When you do decide to get motor work sell that c15 and get a 3406e lol.
I just missed a 3406e that I found in an auction. It was supposedly rebuilt but by the time I seen it, it was already gone.
Are the spark plugs damaged at all?
Just a little unfortunately 😆
How were the big ends?
Everything seemed to be fine
i dont blame u ///looks like it will work 2 me/iam old trucker
I mean, they cleaned up very well.
it will work/ck at 40,000 mi
unless u here something/goodluck@@blantondynamics
Did you check the rod bearing they are fed oil through the main journals
I'd stick with your plan. Reman 6nz c15 long block available in Portland Oregon $9,000.00 w/ 1 year warranty.
As a rule...if the chrome gets that hot it has to come out and be turned
I'm working on it now and trying to get the video together on a new crank.
I don't want the chrome to separate and then you loose the block also
Was you pulling a bullhauler in Illinois three days ago?
No sir
@@blantondynamics ok you got a twin truck out here on the road ! When you finish yours it going to look great 😁
i love it all you can do is try???????????????????????
Exactly!!

Thank you! Sometimes I surprise myself when I finish things like this and I think "damn that looks better then I thought it would" 😅😅
awesome better that nothing
That's my philosophy for this project. And if it dont work than it just don't work.
use some 320 crocus cloth and see how it looks
I have it back together already
i seen that buddy i commented to early hope it runs ok for you @@blantondynamics

Muratic acid will take bearing material off..
Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that.
your a brave man but your the one doing it
It's worth a shot right!
I would put a new Flux Capacitor in it, and call it good!
Thanks for the tip. It's a good thing I have a new one on the way!! Great minds think alike! Lol
