    Segway Ninebot Max G2 (Best Buy): bestbuy.7tiv.n...
    I've had the Segway Ninebot Max G2 for about two weeks now and have put about 120 miles on it. I took it for a spin this evening when the outside temperature was finally cooling off to 106F/41C. So far the Segway Ninebot Max G2 has performed really well in the heat.

    I rode around some bike paths as well as dirt/gravel roads. The handling and overall comfort of this scooter are superb. Definitely enjoyed taking it over to a local park with some water features. Thankfully I didn't end up in any of them!
    If you're on the fence about buying your first scooter, the Segway Ninebot Max G2 is definitely something to consider.

    OK, where to start.. This video is great. Thanks for taking me on the ride. Thank you for not speeding up the video and ruining the speed and feeling of the scooter ride. Thanks for just leaving organic audio and *not* slapping a crappy, loud, royalty free sound track on it.
    Also what a nice area you were in. It's so peaceful. I wish I can scoot in somewhere like that. I am in Downtown Toronto. Here is nothing but too many, too may Uber eats Bike riders who ride like idiots, too many cars and annoying people overly crowded everywhere, This was peaceful to watch! I plan to get this scooter in a few weeks.

      Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :). Yah I'm grateful there are parks and bike paths in my area. It's not like that everywhere here though. Some places are just never ending concrete and drivers who think regular surface streets are a Formula 1 track.
      I plan to post another video in the next few days testing it out on some moderate hills. Found a couple that go up for a few miles so should be a good test.
      Do you have any parks in Toronto with bike paths? Just looked at Google maps, I see a place called Sunnybrook park with what appears to be a network of bike paths, but can't tell from the map. Here in Arizona, we're not used to seeing so many trees haha

      @@tomsgadgetgarage yeah there is parks the one you mention is 15 km out from me, not really looking to go out of my way. Also I guess I was more amazed how little people are out there, all the parks here are filled with people and most are idiots who don't obey rules of dedicated bike lanes or paths etc. It was just so refreshing to see your video lol

    Just bought one of these today. After using the original ninebot max for the last three years and 4,300 miles. Really looking forward to the upgrades.

      That’s awesome you were able to crank out 4,300 miles on the original Max! Congrats! I think the suspension alone is worth the upgrade. Super smooth and just a pleasant ride all around.

    Very impressive, i wish i could say the same. I actually got mine from bestbuy july 1st for in store pickup, i only have 17 miles on mine and its overheated on me 3 times. The first time was on a very small incline in drive which puts the speed limit at 15Mph or so. The second and third time was at 40C i got 6.4 miles on a flat street and 43C at 5 miles in a flat street both in sport mode. The temp was 79 Fahrenheit here in los angeles but people drive nuts here and dont respect the bike lane so i have to keep mine on sport mode and do both sidewalk and street riding to remain safe from harm. Im sure my weight is a BIG factor here at 260Lbs which is 5 Lbs shy of the max payload. I think this is a wonderful scooter for any commuter/ rider under 200Lbs. If you weigh more than that like me, you may need to save up and consider the GT2 which is probably why im leaning towards returning the Max G2 Scooter to bestbuy. Again im not tyring to steer anyone away im just giving my feedback as a (heavy rider) 260lbs. 😅 thumbs up by the way. I hope your video gets more views. 😎👊

      Thanks! Sorry you’re experiencing an overheating issue. I need to find some longer and steeper hills in my area and test this out. I’m 195 so pretty close to 200. I did have a ride where I was driving around for a bit when it was 115F out and the scooter did get to 41C but still ran without overheating. Maybe I was closer to an overheat situation than I realized based on the temps you posted.
      When yours overheated, was the deck you stand on hot? I noticed my feet getting warm yesterday but was unsure whether it was from the blazing sun or the scooter.
      Maybe I’ll take the G2 to some hilly areas this weekend and record my experience. Will have to go early in the morning because the overnight lows are forecasted to be 92F with a high of 117F lol. It’s a dry heat 😂.

      Beautiful place to ride, nice video! I’ve been riding my G2 up a lot of hills for the past 9 days, and so far no issues at all. I’m 190 lbs and the air temps have been in the mid 80s. I’m very impressed with this scooter, but sorry to hear that some slightly heavier riders are having issues. Hope Segway can address that with a firmware update.

      @runningwithtom now that you mentioned it, yes, it definitely was on the hot side on the floorboard, but it was towards the rear. It gets hot when it's charging, too, from the rear area near the rear wheel just above the charging port. When my scooter overheated the rear motor, was definitely very hot to touch where i couldn't touch it for longer than a couple of seconds before feeling my fingers burning. was afraid of the tire, possibly melting, lucky for me there was a Carl's jr near by so i bought a drink amd remain inside the air conditioned building for about an hour and that allowed the temp to drop to 37C which allowed me to ride it home before it overheated again the second time but at 43c instead of 40 c which was interesting. I havent tried riding itnat night when the temp is in the 60s to see if i would get an even longer range before over heating. For small errands less than 3 miles its pretty good for what it is and for my weight to be fair to the Max G2.

      @RoadkillBC thanks, me too it is definitely a very nice and well made scooter. Im still on the fence of returning and just thinking of keeping it and just shedding some more weight so i can e joy the Max G2 to the fullest. Its a good motivation for me as well.

      @@joseluisruiz3789 ha! Shedding weight definitely crossed my mind as well. When I read your post and saw others in a similar situation online, I started up my daily running again. I also found a nice long hill about 20 minutes away. Will test it out later this week and see if I get the overheating as well.

    Mine over heated 4 times, I'm in NYC, I have the 1.4 firmware and I put the regen to weak and it hasn't over heated. I Love the ride performance.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад +2

      @bigmodaco I have a sneaking suspicion that regen is a heat generator. Glad you were able avoid overheating by dialing it down. I'll have to do more testing with regen on strong to see if I get different results.

    Great video! I have the kqi3 max and have the same issue with the back. I don’t think it’s grinding I think it’s the metal thing on the back used for breaking/stopping. Overall I think that the kqi3 max is very powerful and amazing except for the grinding!

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад

      Thank you! I did like the KQI3 Max a lot, I think it’s a great scooter. I hope their next version includes a suspension. That would make it perfect. Yah I thought the grinding was the disc brake at first but this was more of a grinding and rattling, like a marble in a soda can.

    I'm hearing conflicting reports as to whether or not the G2 has cruise control. I have a Segway F40 and I love using the cruise control. I want to upgrade to the max G2 but it's a deal breaker if it doesn't have the cruise control.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад +2

      My Max G2 has cruise control. I cover it briefly in my Top 3 Settings video. It’s my understanding the models sold in Europe don’t have cruise control due to EU regulations. But US/CAN absolutely should have it.

    I want to buy one but I am 95kg. should I get Vsett 8 instead? I can't sleep thinking of that 😅😅😅

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад +1

      I’ve never owned a VSETT but I’ve heard great things. My only real concern about the 8 is the tire size. Looks like it comes with 8.5” solid tires. 10” tires fare better on roughy terrain, pavement etc.

    Hows it handle in the grass?

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  Год назад

      Hey! It handles really well in the grass, especially with the plush suspension.
