Thank you for your videos. I study psychology, and I find your content very useful because we have quite a lot of biology and neurology during this year. And besides, those videos are super relaxing!
Hi Doctor Gill! I don’t often comment on many videos, but I would like to share with you that I thoroughly enjoy yours. They’re always so peaceful, professional, educational, and overall entertaining. Thank you so much for all you do. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful week!
@HoolyDooly-si2zz 1) I don't think he does. Only if you compare him to maybe his oldest videos (and that's like a decade ago), and even then, I wouldn't agree. 2) he is the father of a baby. That tends to be quite a stressful time for the parents.
I always have to chuckle in advance when they check my vitals before giving blood because I have deep veins so it usually takes a second for them to find mine to check my pulse as a result. I will say though that I thoroughly enjoy having my blood pressure records from all of my appointments because high blood pressure runs in my family but my readings have always been really good when giving blood except for more recently I’ve had a few that were high and the Red Cross actually sent me a letter alerting me to be cautious about them which was nice. They were related to work stress from certain people at work and not actually medical in cause and thankfully those people are no longer employed at my work but if it happens outside of that I’ll definitely look into it again.
Always enjoy these types of videos. Also hardest place I had to take someone's vitals was the high of a very busy freeway during a ride along if I learned how to do it visually I would have done that instead of trying for 5 minutes to get a BP.
This might be a silly question, but how are you counting the pulse... beats, I guess, for 15 seconds without a clock or something to keep track of the time passed? I tried it and failed horribly, because a) I don't know how long 15 seconds is and b) I can't count two different things at the same time xD (Plus you're ALSO counting the breaths?? That just seems impossible...)
You literally watch the clock - watch the hand move to 15 seconds beyond where you first looked at it So I’m not COUNTING time, I’m watching for the hands to reach a new position of that makes sense
Does anyone else hear a second Dr Gill voice speaking VERY quietly during some of these newer videos? I feel like im going crazy but its only been on some of the newer ones I hear it
God bless you and World y a los que amamos el mundo entero por mas añitos aqui en la tierra y algun dia por la eternidad besos con los que amamos el mundo entero bendiciones gracias por tanto amor besos❤️
All the electronic monitoring will calculate BPM, and rest with 15 seconds of date. There is not need to count for 1 minute, as the pulse will change over that time. Potentially even being artificially elevated as the patient knows they are being observed
I was talking about RR - although in healthy individuals you can easily do 15 secs x 4 - getting people into the habit of doing a full minute will obviously show periods of apnoea etc. that might otherwise be missed. @@DrJamesGill

@@Dale-TND sure, and i'd love if more doctors told me what they were doing ahead of time, and apparently it only takes five seconds. not sure why you seem to find it upsetting?

At this point I've heard Megan's birthday so many times I feel like I should be sending her a gift
I’ve heard her birthday almost as many times as Abby’s at this point😂
We should get her StarCraft II: Brood War. I think that came out in '98

Doictor Gill's Voice is so soothing that we get a medical lesson as well as an asmr session.
Hello Dr Gill. I love your videos. My Dad is also a Doctor a you remind me of him for some reason! Its lovely😊😊

100/62 is terrific blood pressure. I wish those were my numbers.
So relaxing to hear his voice even if a short video.
It seems like I haven't been here in a while ❤️🔥
Happy belated birthday Megan!
Let the healing begin. 👐
Good to see Megan's lovely smile.
2:56 - 38 degrees is a normal value? I assume there are people who have a constantly higher temperature, but is that okay?

Happy 26th Birthday to "Megan Struthers, the 22nd of February, 1998".
It is important to check the vital indicators of our body regularly.

No problem 😊 hope it was useful
Thanks, Dr. Gill. I really like you videos.
Hi dr Gill, I have a question. I struggle with counting. Do you have any tips for subtly counting respiratory rate?
Is asking permission and explaining procedures and results recent? Some doctors never seem to discuss findings?
and as always have a wonderful response to the finger you see wiggle
great video dr. gill...............excellent bedside manor

Its like the people who can play those instruments where you have to breathe in and out at the same time. A lot of practise and experience.
How can you count the heart rate as well as the seconds at the same time ?
You literally watch the clock - watch the hand move to 15 seconds beyond where you first looked at it
So I’m not COUNTING time, I’m watching for the hands to reach a new position of that makes sense
Dr Gill, are you saying you are in possession of a device that shows time passing. What witchcraft is this...

2:49 very funny.
FEET????
Are the patients in your vids actors or family? I know this chick and the Indian or middle eastern guy are regulars on the channel.
I think they're med students
Resp rate should be checked for 1 minute, not 15 secs then x 4. All nurses know the importance of this.
All the electronic monitoring will calculate BPM, and rest with 15 seconds of date. There is not need to count for 1 minute, as the pulse will change over that time.

not sure what you think "woke" means but it's often considered polite to check with someone before you just cram stuff into their ears
@@lexyeeveeThat interaction seemed natural to you? The consent is implied because of the location.
