    Well done explaining and demonstrating how to take vital signs! Sometimes the basic skills are difficult to master. Practice, practice, practice... Thank you!

      Same here! Whenever I did my skills for my CNA license, I was praying that I didn’t have to do a BP skill, because I was never able to hear the “knocking sound” aka the systolic reading! I just remember the “righty tidy, lefty Loosy”! 😅😅
      After watching this video, I’m confident to a manual BP reading!! 😊😊

    I could not count the irregular apical pulse to 136 even after trying a couple of times. Do we add 2 numbers at the time when the beat is too fast?

    I was so excited I got 136 too😊

    Hi Ellis. I found your video by chance looking for an answer. Particularly in your video I saw the "action" but the "explanation". My question is: How often and in which circumstances a General Physician or Medical Specialist should have the patient undress the chest area (top-less) to measure heart and breathing rates. My concern is related in particular in an interaction between male doctor - female patient. Thanks a lot for sharing

    • @fh_noble3028
      @fh_noble3028 10 месяцев назад

      You can measure heart and breathing rates without the patient being top-less, you can place the stethoscope under someone's top after you've explained what you're doing, you could probably ask them to lift their top themselves if they are able, if not just be as respectful as you can.

    I start my new cna job april 9th. And i swear i cannot take bp manually for the life of me. I get how to do it its just its difficult taking it manually. I hope my assisted living does it electronically lmao

      Most have electronic. I’m learning this all over again and I was an aide for over 13 years and never once did a bp manually aside from class.

    If you have both irregular resp and pulse so you count for 2 min?

  • @nurseinthemaking2020
    @nurseinthemaking2020 2 года назад +1

    How did you count the irregular beats when you were auscultating the apex of the heart? The double beat is equivalent to one beat?

    • @LevelUpRN
      @LevelUpRN  2 года назад +2

      Each count is two sounds: s1 and s2 (or "lub" and "dub").

      @@maimoonahshamshuddin8671 do you by any chance know if you’re supposed to assess notify provider then document or if you’re supposed to assess document then notify provider. For things that aren’t urgent I thought assess document notify but if urgent shouldn’t you notify immediately as second step

      Your only doing under the ear if the forehead is sweaty. Other than that its temporal across and to the hairline
