The line “somebody catch my breath” REALLY hit me after I finally listened to Self Titled and heard Taxi Cab for the first time and understood what he meant
Hey Flightless, hmmm, oh thats when he is blurryface eh, that is neat, didn't connect that but loved the visuals and the song was perfect. thanks for the comment and see you soon :)
I've always seen the lyrics as you interpreted them here, too. I have always pictured "You're underneath" to mean ready to catch him from falling as a Goner. The emotion that Tyler sings with here always gets me... he goes from a sad monotonous phrase to screaming anguish in a second while still singing it.
Hey Amanda, thanks as always for the comment, I love the build up and vocal explosion at the end 💥 he is a genius and top notch performer/singer. See you soon :)
Another highly requested song, I was blown away by this one, didn't know what to expect and then bam at the end, wow, these guys are amazing... hope you guys enjoyed the video, see you on the next one.
Thanks Cristynak, I appreciate the kind words, this song is crazy good, the build up to the end was spectacular. would love to see this song and trees live in person :) take care and see you on the next.
Fun fact! this song was written when Tyler was about 17-18 years old and was on his first solo album titled "No Phun Intended"(you can find it on RUclips). The album is composed of very personal (I don't know what's a good word to use there) songs that were written when Tyler was in one of the most depressed part of his life. It's a really good album and I suggest listening to it in your free time. Both the songs " Goner" And "Trees" were first featured on that album, along with songs that might have inspired some of Twenty Øne Pilots later songs we know today. It's overall a really good album that gives a good insite into how Tyler was feeling during that time.
@@scottanderson81 No problem at all. I just think people should know more about the songs and where they came from. Oh I should mention "No Phun Intended" was made in Tyler's basement and a couple songs feature some of his friends. One of the main ones being "The Taco Bell Saga" (It's a pretty goofy song). Most of the songs on the album are pretty deep and might cause some emotion and cause you to think about the overall messages that are trying to be said. This may be do to the fact that Tyler was struggling with both religion and depression during the time when he had made the album. Sorry for the long comment but I think more people should know about this album as it was what I believe to be a step in the direction of Tyler becoming the musician that we see today. Not to mention just the pure emotion in every song is utterly amazing. Anyway it's your choice if you want to listen to it, there's no harm if you don't and if you do listen to it that's amazing too.
The original version of goner honestly seemed very eerie if you ask me and it was much shorter, but I still like it. If you listen to it after you've listened to heavydirtysoul, you might be able to notice that the very end of the song is the beginning of heavydirtysoul.
@@icantbelieveitsnotbutter1837 Oh I totally agree, its kinda creepy. And there's that almost constant sound of what to me sounds like when you tie a rope to a tree and add weight to it (ie. Tire swing), and it just gave the song a deeper sadness to me. I also like how some of the songs we have now sound a little bit like the ones on the album.
Hey again Gregg, I have heard this a number of times now, I love reacting to their live performances, will do a bunch once I finish Trench official videos :)
Hey Tori, you are welcome, it is one of my favs so far, maybe my favorite, hmmmm...not sure they are all spectacular songs, Tear in my heart up next, stay tuned :)
I don't know if you do rap or not, but check out *Lunar C - Fire in the Booth Part 3* and *Best of Lunar C - Don't Flop Rap Battles.* He's funny, is a master of puns, sexual innuendos and double entendres, and has worked with the biggest names in *Grime* and *Hip Hop,* yet barely anyone outside of the UK knows who he is.
Sometimes I know Tyler just want US to be there for him, because we get it. Not everything is about God, he writes the songs also to us. And to his God. That is why he is suchs amazing songwriter.
@@scottanderson81 I don't want to butt in, but I agree with you for this one. This one is almost certainly about/to God. (But like the other person said sometimes songs are probably for us. But this one's for God. Sorry if I sound like a broken record, lol.☺)

Red bird represents Tyler being inside out (Blurryface) & he’s trying so hard to keep up w/ the white birds & I feel this myself🖤

My favourite track off Blurryface, great stuff, I have forgotten how good it is live too!
it is amazing..
Loved this reaction as well, the way you interpret the song, the parallels you draw and how you pause the video to talk about the lyrics. Great job!
Thanks Cristynak, I appreciate the kind words, this song is crazy good, the build up to the end was spectacular. would love to see this song and trees live in person :) take care and see you on the next.
God this song live was an experience, hell the entire concert was for the Emotional Roadshow and Bandito tours.
Thanks for comment, I could imagine how amazing this song would be live, crazy...see you soon
