@@dedbetter on purpose. first of all SAI was a "break" album, he was working on 2 albums at once but decided to focus on SAI first to help him relax a little (iirc. probably misremembering but its something like that) and also narrative, since you seem like a fan you probably know what SAI is about narratively and it makes sense. i still think there are some bangers. choker and the last 2 tracks are some of my favourites now and i like the lyrics. outside and shy away are good but have less depth, but still. next album (probably like 2024) returns to the trench style i believe
@@keksdeeXD i…. no, i’m sorry, i don’t buy that it’s “bad on purpose” because tyler and josh were supposedly replaced by DEMA, or whatever the lore is. that should not mean they make Old Navy commercial music now 😭 i appreciate what they tried but i think it’s still just… bad.
The ski masks were a way of giving the music no face. Meaning there is no single meaning, no single interpretation, the album has no face, it is unique for everyone.
Wanna add on to this a bit. The masks were also a way for them to allow the music to speak for itself. They wanted the messages of their music to be it's own completely
I probably don't have an objective view about TØP but Tyler is a musical genius. You really need to know and invest time listening to them to understand and appreciate the themes and message behind every song. Thanks for reacting to them RVA and check out their latest album Trench! It's a concept album, simply amazing ♡♡♡
I'm so happy you reacted to some of twenty one pilots... I have so much respect for Tyler Joseph. He keeps so many people alive with his music and his lyrics. So thank you for cheking his vocals :)
i think it's really telling that I do NOT enjoy screamo at all. I'm easily startled and sensitive to yelling. But when Tyler screams for a moment, I feel it is emotionally appropriate, I understand it, and I respect it.
First off you seem like so sweet and you're very knowledgable! And yes- Addict with a Pen is an extremely emotional song. Tyler has broke down singing it live before even. He wrote House of Gold for his mom 😊 As far as the masks go- they use them a lot. I'm almost positive Tyler decided to do them because he wants the person listening to disconnect themselves from him as a person and instead focus on the music. Also they both deal with anxiety a lot and the idea of wearing the masks to feel more comfortable on stage was explored in their music video for guns for hands! Plus- Tyler has more recently taught himself Bass. It's on the new album a lot.
Bordom Equals Brilliance yes he could- I think he played it live during ERS? But he just mentioned it in a recent interview (maybe the beats1?) that he’s been working on it a lot more and incorporating it into this album a lot.
Josh has got arms of steel and can hit his drums harder than anyone else and has the rythm of a god and Tyler has lungs of steel and my favorite vocals of all time. They put so much effort and emotion into their music which is why it's so emotional and overwhelmingly exquisite. It's so easy to get into and so hard to get out. They are my favorite band.
They wear masks on the song Car Radio because that's what makes them comfortable. Hiding their face from everyone so they don't have to fear being judged and being anxious about anything, the mask hides their insecurities.
It's also part of the "Blurryface" theme. His art is made from his throat (and his hands) as he faces the audience. Blurryface wants to break Tyler Joseph down.
It also stemmed from when they were first performing at restaurants and bars and stuff like that, and their goal was to get the staff to look up from what they were doing to watch them. Places that have live music often has the staff not rly paying attention bc they were used to it, so thy out on masks and wore costumes to get their attention.
You should listen to more of there new music he uses falsetto way more now....like his songs Legend, Morph and Bandito....good stuff Ode to sleep is also great its like 5 songs in one
“He’s doing ballads, he’s doing rap, he’s doing pop....” that’s why no fan should be asked what type of music they play 😂😂 I feel like they just don’t have a specific genre to fall into cause they’re so good they created their own 😂😂❤️
every clique member should see this. they tour for a year and a half and then we complain about them going on hiatus? no. tyler has a wife and wants a family and josh has a life and they but their heart and soul to preform for us. be thankful. 💛
Bath time Maloya yeah I was thinking that too. And my english is terrible too so I think it's totally okay haha. (Oh and btw I'm french too, so I don't really know why I already write this comment in english, I totally can write it in french.) ^^'
There’s a reason why 21 Pilots has such a massive die hard fan base because they are the complete package for a musical artist. U can’t describe them into any 1 type of sound. They have their own unique sound and put on the most euphoric live performances in the entire music business today! That’s just a fact. No other artist comes close to 21 Pilots live!!
Their concerts in person are such a once in a lifetime experience, I personally feel they could convert anyone to the TØP cult tbh. They are so mesmerizing.
Ben Snyder technically it "going with the energy of the music" so basically like a guitar player would move around to go along with the beat. But he starts to cry onstage and so he shakes his head. It works too. idk why but it feels like your shaking the emotion out of you.
When you say 'they' and 'lyrics' in the same comment it doesn't even make sense, Josh can just hit the drums harder when he's getting too emotional why would he shake his head WHEN HE DRUMS WITH HIS ENTIRE BODY APART FROM HIS HEAD
Josh Dun is the drummer btw, Tylers voice is unique. Every album sort of has something that represents it, Vessel is the mask Blurry face the red beanie, Trench is yellow band/Vulture/ and Dema. the mask makes them one of us in a sense, they try to create something that's faceless, that can represent a group of people or have people relate to it - Also new to your channel so hi! My favourite cover full acoustic by them is Cant help falling in love - its worth checking out if it interests you.
I keep coming back to this reaction in particular because you notice and acknowledge everything every fan watches the reactions for. You notice his vocals alone, along with the lyrics and his broad range of genres. I appreciate this reaction more than you know!
Addict With a Pen (the one you said hit you emotionally) is a *great* song. The song title is about his songwriting process and the song is, amongst the other layers, mostly about his faith. I really suggest you check it out. His newer "writing process" song is called "Pet Cheetah". His newer song about faith is called "Leave the City." Both are on the Trench album. Loved your video! Subscribed!
YES. OH GOD. this band means so much to me i'm so glad you like them. I always get scared when people react to his vocals bc he does have such a unique vocal quality and some people.... don't like it. i'm really glad you did!
I noticed you were unsure of the meaning of Addict With A Pen, and since I love that song so much and feel like everyone should know the meaning, I thought I would share! From what I’ve learned of it, the song is about Tyler and his relationship with God. He mentions how he hasn’t been the best of sons and how he can’t find a drop of water/of “you”, I think the song was him opening up about struggling to maintain faith. It’s truly beautiful, whether you’re religious or not he’s able to make you feel so much of his pain and journey with this song. It’s truly incredible.
They wear the ski masks because they want the audience to be able to identify with them. If they wear a mask, then they could be seen as anyone. Anyone can be up on that stage. So they do it so that the audience feels as if they are connected with Tyler and Josh
They started doing it to grab people's attention, to make people ask, "Did you see those guys with the masks playing?" It was all for the local music scene publicity, then just stuck. Like Josh originally had a gorilla mask lmao
They’re new album Trench has amazing vocals from Tyler and he recently did 4 songs just him and piano which really showcase his voice on the BBC live lounge
Lmao every top fan (including myself) for sure secretly laughed when she said "different song?" in the beginning. Nope it's just that they love having different music styles in a single song and god i love them
My favourite of all time. Connecting so much with that song, both instrumental and lyrics. And both of them are always so invested in that song when playing it live.
Finally someone reacted to this video of Tyler aha I've been requesting it for so long. I've always though this video was a great exemple of what Tyler can do (even though some major performances are missing) but since the new album Trench came out, it needs to be re-done because he worked on his voice so much and he hits amazing notes. Hearing him sing always make me emotional, I love him. I also wanted to say that yes, Tyler gets a lot of attention but Josh Dun, the drummer, is far from being forgotten and I'm pretty sure they're equally loved in the fanbase and that makes me very happy
her saying she got goosebumps then when she started tearing up at 9:38 isme with them they really care about their fans and their music and idk they just got this THING to them that makes you wanna listen to it more and it's capable of making you happy, sad, excited like all types of emotions and sometimes all out once. i LOVE THEM!! i wish i could see them in concert but i dont have anyone to take me
Well Tyler is absolutely amazing, isn't he? I stumbled across Twenty One Pilots during their first album era and damn they never stop surprising me. And with their brand new album Trench I am so proud I could be there for the whole journey, because what musical genius and maturity they showed it's insane. Definitely check it out.
The song that you got emotional at was about him and his relationship with God. He uses water as a symbol for hope and faith. That's why he got so emotional with the "water" because "I haven't found a drop of water". Later in the song he makes it obviously that it's about God because he says "But you specialize in dying, you hear me screaming 'father' And I'm lying here just crying, so wash me with your water"
He would absolutely *have* to be, right ??? I mean WOW ! Full extension of his arms out and forward and up. Easy to underestimate but that involvement of the shoulder really gives a major workout. I bet they both are *famished* when they come off stage !

@@keksdeeXD i…. no, i’m sorry, i don’t buy that it’s “bad on purpose” because tyler and josh were supposedly replaced by DEMA, or whatever the lore is. that should not mean they make Old Navy commercial music now 😭
i appreciate what they tried but i think it’s still just… bad.
I can I agree...the deeper I delve into his musical shenanigans the more curious I become. Ok Trench here I come!
Vessel is also a very good album. Maybe you can become part of the TØP family aka the clique 😊

You should take a look at their new album Trench. I believe you will be just as impressed
If you want to see even more of his range - their recent album Trench shows how amazing of a singer he is, plus the lyrics are so beautiful!
"Mr. Disco"-- This is how I am going to refer to Brendon Urie from now on.
"I got emotional on that last note" Girl I get emotional with that entire SONG. It's beautiful. Addict With A Pen in the most emotional top song ever.
right!!
@Hi Eh. I'm a Goner gets me sadder than Goner.
First off you seem like so sweet and you're very knowledgable!
And yes- Addict with a Pen is an extremely emotional song. Tyler has broke down singing it live before even.
He wrote House of Gold for his mom 😊
As far as the masks go- they use them a lot.
Wait couldn't Tyler play the bass before this album
Bordom Equals Brilliance yes he could- I think he played it live during ERS? But he just mentioned it in a recent interview (maybe the beats1?) that he’s been working on it a lot more and incorporating it into this album a lot.
Josh has got arms of steel and can hit his drums harder than anyone else and has the rythm of a god and Tyler has lungs of steel and my favorite vocals of all time. They put so much effort and emotion into their music which is why it's so emotional and overwhelmingly exquisite. It's so easy to get into and so hard to get out. They are my favorite band.
i got balls of steel. and i can nut like a god :^)
@@Charmander830 Yeet you tried it
They wear masks on the song Car Radio because that's what makes them comfortable. Hiding their face from everyone so they don't have to fear being judged and being anxious about anything, the mask hides their insecurities.
also, so its more about the music not just about them (quoted by tyler in an interveiw)
I love anyone who listens to tøp for one of the first times and appreciates josh so much
I like how im just scrolling down the comments and they've all been hearted
You should listen to more of there new music he uses falsetto way more now....like his songs Legend, Morph and Bandito....good stuff Ode to sleep is also great its like 5 songs in one
Xella TO Also smithereens
“He’s doing ballads, he’s doing rap, he’s doing pop....” that’s why no fan should be asked what type of music they play 😂😂 I feel like they just don’t have a specific genre to fall into cause they’re so good they created their own 😂😂❤️
That's the reason, why we love them so much 😍
Plus so many emotions in every song 😍

every clique member should see this. they tour for a year and a half and then we complain about them going on hiatus? no. tyler has a wife and wants a family and josh has a life and they but their heart and soul to preform for us. be thankful. 💛
josh is engaged now ah !!
You looked like you were wondering why he was shaking his head so much. Let me bring you the answer: it's to hide/make his tears go away
Lucile Lhop Really?
Laura.21 yea during emotional/deep songs he does it to make sure he doesn’t cry

Great video, stream Trench.
Also, yes you could definitely call Tyler a "multi-instrumentalist". He plays; the ukulele, bass, the piano, (the tambourine) and obviously, he sings.

Yeah, sorry I just found out he didnt a couple of days ago. I tought I'd seen him with one. Imma edit it out.

Lina Langemark this
There’s a reason why 21 Pilots has such a massive die hard fan base because they are the complete package for a musical artist. U can’t describe them into any 1 type of sound. They have their own unique sound and put on the most euphoric live performances in the entire music business today! That’s just a fact. No other artist comes close to 21 Pilots live!!
Clique here and its twenty one pilots not 21 pilots.....
Sorry I sounded rude, I didn't mean to be 😔
Their concerts in person are such a once in a lifetime experience, I personally feel they could convert anyone to the TØP cult tbh. They are so mesmerizing.
they shake their heads because it stops them from crying live. thats why you may see them shake their face in between lyrics.
No it's not Tyler himself as said it's just a twitch its involuntary
"Woah, it's a different song!" Nope, still Heavydirtysoul. That's tøp for you lmao.
"It's a bop" "mr. disco" "I love this"

I literally love him. Well everyone has their opinions and they like to let people know!

I was gonna say welcome to the clique, but this works. 😁
Bingo.

They wear the ski masks because they want the audience to be able to identify with them. If they wear a mask, then they could be seen as anyone. Anyone can be up on that stage. So they do it so that the audience feels as if they are connected with Tyler and Josh
It works
MeowMeowkitten acually they do it so that the music is faceless so that the people can make there music there own tyler said that many times
@@mandyvanbeek8505 isnt that basically the same thing he stated, worded differently.
They started doing it to grab people's attention, to make people ask, "Did you see those guys with the masks playing?" It was all for the local music scene publicity, then just stuck. Like Josh originally had a gorilla mask lmao
Ya'll are looking way too deep into it lol
They’re new album Trench has amazing vocals from Tyler and he recently did 4 songs just him and piano which really showcase his voice on the BBC live lounge
They saved so many lifes with their music and How Tyler uses his voice in it makes it way more meaning
Lmao every top fan (including myself) for sure secretly laughed when she said "different song?" in the beginning. Nope it's just that they love having different music styles in a single song and god i love them

Staci's Crazy Life Idk why but it’s like my least favourite song of theirs
My favourite of all time. Connecting so much with that song, both instrumental and lyrics. And both of them are always so invested in that song when playing it live.
when you described them as a bunch of different genres I just laughed because, yep, that’s twenty one pilots
I'M SO SATISFIED seeing your reactions!! I don't usually watch vocal coach reactions, but after a few videos of yours i can say i like you♡
Finally someone reacted to this video of Tyler aha I've been requesting it for so long.

Later in the song he makes it obviously that it's about God because he says "But you specialize in dying, you hear me screaming 'father'
And I'm lying here just crying, so wash me with your water"
It makes me nervous when he stands on a piano lmao like please don't die we love you
