My daughter started going through depression when she was 11 after my mom was killed in a car accident. She was also struggling at school as a lot of middle grade children do. A friend told her about Twenty One Pilots and she started listening to them almost nonstop. They really helped her along with some counseling. She is 16 now and doing good. She is the reason my wife and I got in to them and now I think we like them as much or more than she does. As I’ve said commenting on other videos, we have seen them multiple times in concert and would go to all of their shows if we could.
They are amazing... and very much needed in this world to help people through their demons ☺️❤️🙏

Sir i hope everything be fine førever. They've literally saved my life, more than once, i'm 15, i've got disorders, no one even knows, i can't go to the the counselor, but i don't need one now. They made me my counselor myself. I found some really understanding friends because of them. I'll be grateful førever. Peace
When i was at their concert a girl in front of me was crying constantly and screaming: “Tyler, you saved my life!”, and when i saw her wrists full of scars from harming herself, that was the moment i realised how important is that someone like Ty exists, he has helped us so much...

Just seeing Tyler baring his soul on stage makes me cry. He truly puts all of himself into his songs even if it's just him and josh or he's in front of millions of us it's a rare trait and I'm so glad we have him and josh. Skeleton clique till I die, which because of TØP won't be any time soon they truly saved my life and my sanity.
The original version of this song is so hopeless and it hits my heart..I'm so glad he was able to do it again on a later album with so much more fight back. Both versions are really powerful just in different ways.

The entire concept of this song, and how it's presented, is so profound. The feeling that you're being replaced by someone -- something -- that isn't you. A creature that thinks things you'd never want to think, feels things you wish you never could, and stops you from acting by literally scaring you into obedience. Blurryface, or whichever Niner controls you. Depression. Anxiety. And calling out for help, because without it you're afraid there will be nothing left you in the end. Yeah, I cry when I listen to it. It's too relatable.

Like you're in a coma & cannot speak or reach out in any way, but you're not in hospital, you're in your own fuckin body, unable to get anyone to recognize that you are being subsumed, co-opted, possessed, but still entirely conscious of every little thing..that ridiculous despair; useless, hopeless, infinite sorrow; because you know this thing which has stolen your voice will never let you escape.

@ good that u noticed to say that, I got completely lost in watching this man emphaticly connect with this song, Tylers words, drumming of Josh, just everything...I got lost again, I havent seen that performance in quite a long time and it brought tears to my eyes...These two saved my life from dark thoughs years ago and are still the reason why I will forever continue to spread their music and to listen to the whatever path they go.

Two things, in no particular order. What you said about it being like therapy - you hit the nail on the head. I have to paraphrase this because I cannot remember the exact quote, but Tyler once talked about when you listen to these songs alone in your room - it is like therapy - to keep you going. But, in a concert setting, where everyone has come together for basically the same purpose, it becomes a celebration of "Look, we're all here - we made it this far..."
And, what you said about his pain, state-of-mind, etc. I think he was indeed in that much pain at one time. He has definitely found some peace over time, and I know the birth of his daughter recently has brought him profound joy. I think he realizes the importance of giving a voice to some of these thoughts and emotions when even some other musicians will not go quite as far. People often hold up signs at the end of their concerts saying simply, "Thank You," or, "You saved my life." He is willing to completely expose himself and put EVERYTHING out there, so others can have an outlet and give their pain someplace to go other than staying bottled up inside. He, and Josh, provide release, IMHO. Cheers!

I was at a Twenty One Pilot concert and a young girl a couple seats from me yelled at the top of her lungs with her Dad right next to her...You saved my life! This was my second Twenty One Pilots concert but at that moment I just realized how powerful their music is and their concerts are. There is such a mixture of old, young, white, black, rich, poor...Twenty One Pilots speaks to the soul❤️

When they started doing the Truce singalong on the Bandito tour, every time the lyrics "stay alive for me" came up, multiple people screamed "I DID!!!" and everyone else would cheer them on. It happened at both of the shows I went to and I'm willing to bet it happened at nearly every one, it's pretty amazing
I see you. FABLE. Got that red nose and eyes. That's a sign it hits ya deeper that the rest. I tell ya you have one of the best TØP reactions around. You get them on a much deeper level than listening. I never knew these guys existed until around september of 2018 and went to my first concert that October. Spent a couple hundred dollars to get floor seats and stood in line ALL day to get within feet from the stage and it was worth every penny. Did it all again the next year.. same story. No regrets. They put on such an amazing show. I never in my life had a group affect me like they do. Kitchen Sink was my first song from them aside from the more common Stressed Out and Ride. Kitchen Sink punched me in the gut so hard. I ugly cried and I'm 45yo. I can't wait to experience all the feels over again with you.

Just to add, they have so much passion for what they do. As a drummer myself, I love what Josh is doing with the drums because its hard to play with the same energy in a 2 hours concert.

Hearing Goner live in 2017 never left me. I still remember the explosion of cheers with the opening piano riff but then the sudden thin energy in the air. We all went back to the moment we heard that song, when we needed someone to catch out breath. What a religious experience. And you man, I’ve never related to a Tyler Joseph fan more in my life. Something you've mentioned earlier is his crazy creative lyricist abilities and their uptempo, never fail to switch it up on you, beats. I've yet to find an equivalent band/artist. Iv only just found you n working my way thru the Twenty One Pilots reaction vids BUT i just had to leave a comment on this one. I wanted to hug you so much when you watched the first Goner vid, then i cried watching you react to the live Goner vid.....you get it, you so get it right when you talk about Tyler n Josh. Iv only seen them live twice, iv been going to live shows for over 30yrs now and can say hand on heart that these two blow every other band iv seen live out the water! Its like seeing n hearing a completely different band and songs when you see them live. AMAZING, HUH??? I’m in my late 40’s and have battled depression my entire life. There’s another band who was my lifelong favorite…until I began listening to TØP! I LITERALLY get chill bumps. Tyler is brilliant and says the things we’re thinking but cannot verbalize, but look how hard Josh is on those drums! No wonder he runs marathons!✌🏻

And Josh and Tyler, they literrary saved my life so to think about the fact that I had the privilidge to see them live last year is insane and it gives me chills every time I think about it. I'm currently binging your reactions to twenty-one pilots because I always love seeing someone who really appreciates music and meaningful lyrics find them for the first time. What resonates the most with me for this song is the beat which reminds me of a beating heart. It's gets faster and stronger as he fights to "catch his breath." It's really beautiful and one of my top favorites.
Being someone who is battling with not only depression but PTSD. Just even watching him gives me chills. Im not a huge cryer, but his songs/videos/lyrics/everything hits so damn deep I break down. Im an artist myself but he transcends art. Every aspect of that man speaks meaning and I'm a better person to have been able to experience his music honestly

Most of the songs from their album Regional At Best were re-recorded on Vessel (songs like Holding Onto You and Ode To Sleep). Lovely came as a "bonus track" but they decided not to add it to the actual album.
The main difference is the unnecessary autotune on the original version, but both are great!

@@traktician honestly, discovering TOP when i did after spending the majority of my 40+ years on this planet having issues of depression/suicide and never feeling like anyone would ever really understand, i suddenly for the first time heard the thoughts in my head expressed by someone else, and through music, not just music, but really good music. i swear it had an almost instant total restructuring of (not my entire)outlook, at least enough to finally have at least that slight glimmer that there was someone out there who got me.not only got me,but was like me, was like me and was finding ways to make it through everyday. im inno way fixed/better, but i am better than i was. and thats only thanks to tyler and josh. i know im not the average emo kid/young adult, in fact i could literally be any of most of the cliques father, but still here i am, and im clique, and here i am. and i cant say that without discovering TOP i would be.

The reason I decided to comment to you was the remark you made about others having been through similar emotional journeys & if not thriving, at the least, not just surviving.
Some of the best advice I have heard for mastering one's mind has come from Tyler: 1) to create a secret, special thing that only you understand that the world would be bereft of, were you suddenly absent from it. 2) to bestow 'a name, a face, a seat at the table' upon our nemeses..for the purpose of leveling the field; being able, likely for the first time, to assess realistically the
voices in our heads that seem, when unseen, to be so damnably omnipotent! Sometimes, if you do it right, you realize how insignificant & powerless they are when we don't imbue them with the infinite ability to slay us. 3) to lay out an actual or imagined map of the countries & worlds within us, complete with villains, treacherous territories (I always think of 'the Doldrums' from the Phantom Tollbooth; an area replete with local creatures that will crawl right in your car uninvited & remind you how incredibly boooooorrrred & tiiiiiirrrred you are) & escape routes (east is up)..& 4) that doing stuff for others 'seems to work/help', can't quite recall the quote, but its from the 'power to the local dreamer' video.
I bet I've forgotten a bunch. Dude's always spittin truth!

Their concerts are a spiritual experience. You are changed when you leave. I have been to three so far and each one was amazing and left me feeling emotionally spent but somehow more centered.

I’m currently in the hospital with my girl, she just gave birth to our first born son and your videos as well as other reactors have made the days of sitting around not really able to do much a little easier. I don't tell anyone in my life that I struggle with depression. They'd not understand. They'd give me the "just try harder to be happy", but depression isn't like that. There's not a way to just be "happy". But these guys, are like my silent therapy. And those around me think me odd for constantly listening to them. I'm 41, and I hear 'aren't these guys for the younger crowd'. I smile and just turn it off for the moment. But I carry them. In my heart, in my mind, in my soul. They save my life when no one else even sees it needs saving. Welcome to the family.

That’s so much for sharing this brother.... I appreciate it. I know depression isn’t just something you try harder to be happy. My wife is a psychologist and she deals with people who suffer from depression... and she always tells me, it’s a battle - it’s not just something you shake off. This is why I really appreciate the severity of it and understand, even though I don’t suffer from it that everyone is different. It’s so easy to just tell someone to be happy because people don’t understand how it is... this is why I say “these guys are important!” The world needs people like this making this kind of music!! Their purpose fills yours and that’s what we are here for... to help each other. ❤️❤️❤️

I saw that someone requested "Truce" and you said you would. I would like to second that please! I've battled mental illness my entire life, but I had been pretty stable until my dad passed away 5 years ago. I first discovered these guys right afterwards when I needed them the most. I credit their music for helping me through that very dark, lonely time. Also, I think you could benefit from reacting to their interviews and various other fan made compilation videos. They are so funny and incredibly smart. They show a side they don't always show onstage or in videos. They are very complicated (like us all) individuals.

The accordion version is so spooky and desolate! Then I experienced Goner live at the Emotional Roadshow/Blurryface tour. It was breathtaking to see the gorgeous backdrop of the solitary bird trapped in the cage (which I assume is Tyler?); then it escapes and is joined by hundreds of white birds (which I like to think is the support of the Clique (plus his family/friends). That mournful "Don't let me be gone" followed by his screaming "DON'T LET ME BE!!" Soooooooo POWERFUL!!!
