  • 5 Double Standards in Hip-Hop (ft. All The Kulture). After many collabs with All The Kulture on my Podcast Channel, it was finally time for us to collab on the main channel. By "Double Standards" we mean how rap fans will call out a group of people for having a viewpoint or behaving a certain way. But those fans WON'T call out another group of people who do the have the SAME viewpoints/behavior (even if the same logic applies).

Cuz obviously they can’t relate to a woman talking abt how wet their pussy is or something like that, but saying they are trash because of that or they shouldn’t fo that is my problem because most men rap abt it 24/7. Furthermore I hate when ppl say female rappers ONLY talk abt it and yeah while thats true for a few ppl like example Nicki Minaj has really good emotional songs such as the crying game or all things go hell the whole pinkprint album (which is her best album btw and easily top 2 inside the barbz fanbase) is emotional. Just because there most popular songs are sex related doesn’t mean all their music is. Thats just your fault for not listening to their other songs.

#1 is do true. When I hear about a new rapper these days, they are dead before I know it. I don't keep my ear to on ground when it comes to hip-hop and rap but I only heard about King Von and Pop Smoke after they died (like they both became famous in the same year died). I don't like the idea of people feeling like they have to stay in the hood or bad situation because it's more authentic. I think this is killing hip-hop. Out of all genres, hip-hop has the most deaths. RIP to those rappers who have lost their lives.

Oh HELL YES WITH #4!!!!!! I get this all the time. People have been saying to me stuff like "Oh, just because you like AJR, that means you haven't heard a lot of music" or "Just because you like Papercuts by Machine Gun Kelly means you haven't heard any good pop punk". Just because I like something that every else hates doesn't mean I'm a bot, or I'm a naiive music idiot. I just like the music I like in spite of, or sometimes because of, the flaws, of their music, and I don't want to conform to a mindset that I don't understand or agree with.

I think that the whole point you guys made about lyricists was kind of off or more specifically the portion about Kendrick I'm not like a die hard Kendrick fan but the way I see it is that there's only like 10 to 15 subjects that you can really make songs about that anyone will even care about to begin with The reason why people like Kendrick are good is not because they do something that is unrepetitive they still make songs about the same subjects as everyone else it that they do it in a different way than it's ever been done before And make it interesting again

A double standard i encounter recently was eminem stans using the most sales units moved as the proof why eminem is the goat. So i asked these stans if they think guys Future, to guys like mc hammer is better than Ems boy Royce da 59. And they flip this double standard that the stans opinions are somehow more important than the future fans opinions or the casual fans that bought mc hammers albums just for one song...... well guess what most of ems stans are casuals that dont listen to much rap outside of eminem so whats the difference? LoL.

Great vid, reminds me of comments I hear regularly be it in music or outside of music on a couple of those things. The first one is interesting cuz then a lot of people say if you do not like a female artist that is why. Of all female rappers the only 2 I genuinely dislike are Cardi and Iggy and its not simply cuz they rap about sex cuz I love Lil Wayne and he does the same in many songs. An annoying voice, poor flow, poor instrumentals, etc... all play into whether someone is good or not and to me Cardi and Iggy get on my nerves nearly 100% of the time and I could say mostly the same for MGK, 6ix9ine, Rick Ross, and a few others. The "what have you done" thing almost reminds me of when people assume you hate an artist or cannot have an opinion unless you have heard all their music. There is so much rap that some people I just do not ever feel interested enough in whether they may be great or not.
