The hg Asshimar is the only transformable kit that actually transforms. No parts forming. No extra torso. No shield covering the head. Just a solid transformation that can rival some transformers action figures
@Black Chandelier Mirage I woudn't say the Flauros has the same definition of "transform" like most MS. It basically gets on all fours, turns its legs backwards, and wears a shell on the head.
It's because the HG in 2013 get significantly better with the introduction of Build Fighters. The HGCE Strike is "based" on HGBF Build Strike. And Bandai launched All Gundam Project, which is better HG that focus on Gundam from various series. Aile Strike, F91, Turn A, Double X, Wing, Wing Zero, Victory, Ez8. All of them get universal HG joints that is way better and won't go outdated to this days. In 2015, there is no longer All Gundam Project but Bandai launched Revive Project which is non-Gundam also get 2.0 treatment such as Guncannon and Qubeley.
I got the HGFC God Gundam bro and that one's solid too! I suggest you get both the God and Master (with Funsaiki) the playability of both are for the whole day 😄
Soooo happy that you’re reviewing this kit. The revive strike rouge was my first kit back in 2013/2014 and I’ve been watching your channel ever since. I remember your older reviews and the “dark ages” very clearly and im so proud of you right now, the quality has literally skyrocketed! Hope you’re gonna review more older kits mecha
I dunno- after his review of the Jegan Blast Master and how he blasted its articulation (despite its improved articulation compared to most Jegans) I'd rather he not touch another Jegan/GM type kit. :(
same here lol. i have the strike rouge but my experience was bogged down by the fact that I didn't have a nipper and instead used a pair of scissors and nail cutters for the nums lol
Old kits! Old kits! Old kits! Particularly old perfect grades would be hella nice. Reviews for those kits basically don't exist it's wack. Also when's that Psycho Zaku review you promised? And that Godhand review.
Fun fact: It's actually very simple if you wanted to take the Launcher and Sword parts from the HG Perfect Strike and connect them to the 2013 HG Aile Strike. All you need to do is just use the piece for connecting the back and the Aile Striker from the Perfect Strike kit and through it into the Aile Striker from the newer kit. And everything just falls into place.
Yes! I like the older kit reviews so much! Please keep doing more of them, especially in the HG 1/144 series. I am just beginning my gundam collection.
Speaking of the Aile Strike and Force Impulse, I want to recommend the manga "HG ni Koi suru Futari". It's about the hobby of Gunpla and is really well illustrated. Maybe if more people start reading it the scanlating group will get off their ass and get back to work lol
This kit, as you can probably tell by two parts left on the joint runner, was first released as the first Build Fighters kit: The HGBF Build Strike Full Package, which was also the first kit to use that 2013 beam saber runner
Unpopular/popular opinion: I actually like the shields on the side of the arm. Reminds me of how knights or Captain America holds their shields on the sides of their arms. But then again these are sci-fi mobile suits and to each their own.
Actually that's the ONLY way you attach the shield to your arm realistically. It's also the reason why I don't like how Katoki redesign the arms of the mobile suits
i've been longing to see a review about this kit!. aile it's actually my first gunpla that i bought back in 2015, and i'm so happy that you review it. and by the way, the kit can take the weapon from HG SEED Perfect Strike Gundam (Launcher & Sword). So you can actually get a Perfect Strike Gundam Revive 👍
I bought it, build it and played a bit with this gundam. I haven't to say a lot of negative stuff, only the ball joints aren't the best but he is a 8,5 / 10
You're right about the beams. They first came out with the HG Build Strike Full Package, which came out a few months before the HGCE Aile Strike. The frame runner is actually labeled as the Build Strike, which is why you get the 2 leftover shoulder vent parts.
A 1/144 aile strike in gold tier?? Has that day come?? The build strike galaxy cosmos left a bitter taste in my nippers and since then I have been avoiding HG strike based kits. Might try this one to reignite the Kira Yamato in me. Thanks for this review sir Mecha!
You can take every part of the old HG Perfect Strike (backpack with the extended batteries, shoulder armors of both the launcher and sword pack, adapters for sticking the sword and the launcher on the back,...) and stick it onto this new revive version. I tried it, and it looks more solid than the RG version.
You can also kitbash the aile striker pack from both the HG P-Strike and the Aile Strike Revive. Did mine so it gets the Revive's movable wings and bottom thrusters (all plastic- no stickers) plus the P-Strike's extended battery packs. Just be sure to use the corresponding polycaps for each part i.e. if attaching a Revive part, use revive polycaps. Not doing so will result in joints that are too loose.
I sold my PG strike after getting this kit, hands down my all time favorite gunpla. I even got the hg strike rouge revive too it's basically just another color of this kit. Definitely worth getting
If you kept the perfect strike, all the pack parts (launcher pack, sword pack, and shoulder armor) can put them all on the revive to make a revive perfect strike, the shoulders fit perfect, the backpack is a little tight though
I have been using this strike to create my own HGCE Duel, Buster and Blitz. This is simply one of the best you can get for that price and performance, and its stable to boot! Also, you can use the perfect strike's pack and stick it on, and it works like a charm
MG Musha Gundam Mk II is a amazing kit with gold pieces with no numb marks, great articulation (based of the Mk II 2.0), and one of the most underrated designs.
I'm not much of a SEED fan, but I love how the Strike Gundam is designed both in the anime and gunpla that's why I bought this. I also bought the HG Perfect Strike, but only for its perfect striker pack which is very much compatible with the revive from the backpack to the shoulder armor of the launcher and sword packs. Also, the Aile pack really looks good on the Windam IMO...
Having own this kit since 2014, I have to say I'm glad it's the first one I've built. Built a few more kits after and thought that they suck 'cause they're not as articulated as the Strike, but apparently the HGCE Aile Strike is just a very good kit.
Hola amigo, yeah, bring on the older kits reviews. I rarely buy anything if you have not reviewed it first. I learned my lesson with the early RG´s. Greetings from Mexico.
Mecha should review the High Grade Build Strike Gundam Full Package since the High Grade Aile Strike Gundam uses parts from that kit. For context, the HG Build Strike Gundam Full Package is from 2013 and the HG Aile Strike Gundam is from 2014.
Something I found out while messing with the Rouge re-color of this kit is that the striker packs from the older kits (at least the Noir Striker pack) can fit almost perfectly on the revive.
Since we're on the topic of hg seed kits, I've built the hg Astray Red Frame recently and I really enjoyed it. You should definitely check it out (side note: I have the regular one without the flight pack)
Since you have the HG perfect strike, you can steal the large sword, Hyper cannon, the shoulder parts and the adaptor and attach them to this Strike. Bam, Perfect strike
When the Revive of the Strike came out, I cannibalized the HG Perfect Strike. I took the backpack of the Perfect Strike and Revive, ripped both of them apart and integrated the wings and boosters of the revive into the basic chassis of the old HG to give it an updated look, then used the Revive Strike to replace the old HG and I got a semi-updated Perfect Strike Gundam. At one point, I wanted to get another revive strike to refurbish the old Strike Noir kit to update everything about it.
I love the design of the strike. Its a unique design with hints of the rx-78. I love the idea of swappable backpacks for specific situations. But am I the only one who HATES the "perfect" strike? It takes a slim design and crams everything onto it, like some sort of Destiny cluster fudge.
I have both HG Strike Revive and HG Force Impulse, both custom painted and both are rock solid. Also good training with regards to masking and painting the wings
I can't believe the HGCE is considered "old" now, christ its been long. I can only imagine how you guys would react to the original HG strike, the thing didn't even have a waist joint.
These hg revive Strike kits are extra solid. Its basic but great. Simplicity with a quality of its own. I used the legs and shoulders for a WIP I'm working on.
I built the HG 1/144 Perfect Strike, and it was good. I built the HGBF 1/144 Build Strike Gundam Full Package and it was really good. I built the HGCE 1/144 Aile Strike, and my HG 1/144 Perfect Strike is Perfect.
For a classic retro kit, May I suggest the HGUC Nemo and GM III. Very simplistic kits but it's simple, no-fuss tech is it's main selling point. If fun is the aim, then the HGUC Sand brown Dom Tropen is what you want. Not much posing options but it's weapon combinations more than make up for it.

Just made my first Gundam , found it really fun, only thing had trouble with is the stickers, only ones that don't like great are the eyes, not quite lined up but not bad for first one
The Idea of the revive aile strike is to combine it with the dated perfect strike.. You simply combine the new aile strike with the adapter for sword and launcher that has the battery pack. In short, use the revive aile strike with the accessories of the old perfect strike to get the revive perfect strike.
One thing bandai did right was reviving the old hg seed kits into the hgce...the hgce's i believe has some of the best hg kits that have come out recently...
I don't care for Gundam SEED or SEED Destiny, but between this, the MG Ailestrike, the RG Ailestrike, and the PG Ailestrike, daaamn!!! These are a must buy, and I hate that I didn't get them before. (Also gonna need Swordstrike & Launcherstrike weapon packs, which iirc, the PG also has) I made suggestions for older kits on your previous video...and here's another: the old PG RX78-2 Gundam & PG Zaku II S (Char's Zaku), if you haven't already reviewed those.
Mecha! Review the no grade 1/100 Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Mina! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you can get your hands on one! The NGs have basically the same detail as the MGs but with fewer parts, and the Amatsu Mina is both undergated AND gold plated!
I remember that, when you called the sazabi ver ka "somewhat of a glorified statue" and also saying that is gold tier, i would like to see a full review, and i hope you review more old gunpla
I'm loving these older kit episodes nice fresh gunpla content
Sometimes always seeing what's new gets old
Could you review the MG Gouf Custom? I built it recently and I am on the fence about it.
Lol I think I saw you on Instagram showing that you got a like from mecha
This one is not that old. The Old High Grade had very little color separation. And the feet were Design by a clown shoe company.
The hg Asshimar is the only transformable kit that actually transforms. No parts forming. No extra torso. No shield covering the head. Just a solid transformation that can rival some transformers action figures

"just slots into the hole in the back" beautiful. XD i have mixed feelings about when i built this kit myself few years ago
