Honestly, the GM would be one of the perfect Grunt Suits for the Entry Grade line. As much as i want for a HG Revive version, an EG GM would perfectly acceptable too, at least in my opinion
It probably wouldn’t be too hard either, as it could be built mostly out of EG RX-72 parts, and all it would need would be a new head, weapons, waist and backpack

Excited for this. I built the entry grade RX 78-2 and gave it to my 3 year old daughter. She loves her “grannad gunnam” and has been playing with it non stop. Even with her rather vigorous play style, as well as multiple drops on the floor, he has remained rock solid with no breakages or loosening of joints. Looking forward to build and give her the Strike as well.
Weird. We’ve had ours for a few weeks and I just picked it up again and everything is still solid, no loose arms or legs or anything. She did break my HG Heavyarms when she dropped it on floor and the right shoulder missile hatch snapped off. But the granddad gundam has been holding strong.
Glad to know that I'm not the only one who's had their entry grade joints loosen. Still gonna pick up the Strike Gundam though cause the entry grades are so damn pretty
if only people don't buy those damn old kit from below 2010, we might get more EG from Universal Century MS, even better to get the OO entry grade... but those HGOO kit from 2007-10 is still selling like peanut in general, and Bandai will try its best to milk those old kit
@@Sth809 yeah, human opinion cannot be controlled, but people buying decision can be altered/manipulated by marketing alone, and OO kit has variety of choice in HG, even some people prefer HG over the RG simply because of ERS.... I think it's about time bandai make some conscious decision to revive HG OO since they are willing to revive HG Zaku II (they don't have to, but they did for the sake of anniversary... and it's about time OO series have their 15th year anniversary)

I mean it seems like Bandai is choosing some of the most popular main characters’ Gundams… Or maybe Barbatos? Damn that would be interesting to see! Considering how Bandai is making us buy an entire HGUC Nu Gundam just to get the fin funnels and the bazooka for the EG,I don’t think Bandai is gonna care enough to make all the striker packs to make the Perfect Strike and more In fact,we actually have some,if not all of the perfect strike parts already,from the Remaster Ver. Perfect Strike,you just need to harvest all the parts that make the Strike the Perfect Strike and use them The old strike may have released in the early 2000s,but the Perfect Strike parts were made around the release of the HGCE,so they’re compatible,and that means that this kit can be the Perfect Strike if you use the shield adapter from the HGCE for the claw on the left arm.
Well it is late but bandai release the aile stricker in may 2024 and launcher and sword striker in june and you can assemble the perfect strike with the entry grade. It take time but they made it.

I'm still not convinced the EG kits are necessarily a better deal than their HG equivalents. The HGCE Aile Strike's joints have aged relatively well, while some of my EG ERX-78-2's joints have gotten fairly loose, so there are some tradeoffs. The HGCE Aile Strike comes with the Aile Striker, beam rifle, beam saber blades, and shield for 1300 yen. The box version of the EG Strike will come with the rifle and shield for 700 yen. Are the Aile Striker pack and beam blades worth the 600 yen difference? Idk, but I can see Bandai selling a separate Aile Striker for around that price. I also suspect that the EG's rifle and shield will be slightly worse than the HG's, just like the EG RX-78-2's. That being said, it is a really nice way to get a base Strike when you have surplus striker packs or just want to do a custom. I know some fans have been asking for this sort of thing for years.

Great little kit for the price, seems perfect for getting a kid into the hobby and I guess that was kind of the point. The MG Strike was my first Gunpla kit and still one of my favourites.
I haven't watched Gundam Seed or any other form of it yet But all of the forms of the Strike Gundam just blow me away. Such amazing looking kits! I didn't think I'd like Strike Freedom because of the weird gold joints and hands but after building it I will say that it's such an eye catcher when you have the wings extended out and on a stand like I have it! I'm definitely going to need to find that Entry Grade Strike and Zaku II somewhere!
For the Rx-78, you got the full package for a much lower price(compared to the HG), and the main body had some parts that were better than the HG, but for the Strike, even though it's cheaper, you will still have to buy the HGCE or the old HG SEED kit to get any striker packs....also, the only real advantage the EG has over the HGCE is the head vulcans....unlike the EG RX-78, I think this I'll skip over this kit...
I’m still not sold on ditching polycaps for plastic joints. I’ve been seeing too many loose joints for my liking. In fact, I was just messing with a 30MM kit I built a while back and all the c-clip joints were loose. So we’re the ball joints for the hands and they were in a worse state than many older kits. I guess the saving grace is that it’s easier to paint or varnish plastic joints.
I'm new to gunpla building and this is the third kit I've put together. mine came with the same shield and gun that the HG version has. I've found that the arms, feet, and hands tend to pop off on mine while posing but overall a pretty cool kit.
I'm sure Mecha Gaikotsu has his own mental problem back in 2011-ish, when reviews are sparse, and his life in Japan is least to be desired... But he moved on though (getting exercise, tirelessly reviewing kit on constant basis, etc)... you should try to move on too, don't cling to the current problem and start to appreciate what you have (Hopefully my comment don't turn into some kind of preaching, just tryin to understand fellow sufferer)
I really get you. As for me I could only afford to build 1 every 2-3 months so I'll go for an RG, that way I'll have a lot of time fiddling around with the kit and more time to distract myself from things that makes me down
Honestly the entry grades are getting me into the 1/144 scale model kits which I was never into before. I hope they keep up these entry grades. I already preordered the Nu gundam and got the US gundam Target Exclusive.
So this kit finally made it to local hobby shops in the US but weird thing there must be several versions. The boxed version we got here comes with a beam rifle and the shield and does NOT have the daggers which seems so weird that they couldn't find the space on the runner next to the gun for the daggers wtf!?
entry grade left high grade right easy way to spot the difference between the entry grade and high grade is the elbow joint. the high grades are round and more detailed the front
Honestly, while this kit looks great, I still would just get the HG, even if the EG is available while the HG isn't. While I think the color separation is amazing, I don't think it fully makes up for the lack of accessories. Sure the side-to-side movements in the waist and ankles are amazing, but honestly I'm not convinced it can help make up for the lack of the rest of the Strike's accessories. Hell, the HGCE Aile Strike *also* comes with the knives, meaning if you want just base Strike, it's still there.
I’m surprised they haven’t done a 1/100 scale of these ( easy build ) , I’m sure a lot of people would want a affordable model kit to custom , everyone loves Value and a great design (no poly cap)
I hope that the EG Nu is an upward trend from this. The shoulder articulation worries me a bit but it's still extremely pretty IMO. NEVER FORGETTI FORSETI
Love the colors of the new EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy. Its halfway to the the Strike Rouge(my first PG but waiting to build it). EG Build Stike comes with Skygrasper but call it galaxy fighter
10:28 We're finally getting an accessory pack for this kit, not only to give it the Aile Striker, but even the Launcher Striker and Sword Striker packs as well, which means you can have a EG Perfect Strike Gundam.
I just got back into gunpla. I started with a HG RX-78, then a RG Astray Red Frame, then a MG RX-78-2 Origin. All of these are in various states of disrepair. I just bought this entry grade to stem the tide before I really jump back in, and I hope not to make the same mistakes moving forward.
I just realize that our *Build Strike Exceed Galaxy* is just a reprint from Strike Gundam 😵💫😱 with "new gun-sword", "new shield", "new face", "more 3mm hole in the armor joint", "new booster backpack" and the "build-in effect part into the armor"
Hey there, had an idea for ya if you ever end up in a drought of something interesting to do for a video. Do one of your top/least favorite videos about shields. You may have to do a choice or video for every grade, but there’s plenty of interesting criteria, overall design, build, attachment point or shield arm, features, etc. just food for thought.
I'm doing a mashup between the dagger-l the windam and the strike, using the strike rouge, but I could swap the arms for this one and save the rouge from being just scraps
What I did with my RX is that I took my panel lining marker and colored in the parts of the eyes that should be black so the thing where you look at it at a low angle isn’t a problem.
Guntank early grade please? Those things need more love (partly because I love those things to death in UCGO. Yes Zeon bring all the prototype bull you have, my cannons will still penetrate any mobile suit you sent out (at least for this game)), aside from making grunt early grades for breaking, making them an excellet background decoration of an after-battle scene
The seam line along the lower section of the head (the "ear" area) is actually a panel line in the original animation cells, so I wouldn't be too bothered by those.
I've been wanting to work on custom painting a gundam and entry grade sounds like the perfect thing to test painting on. Time to go back to the store lol.
Next month the box version of entry grade strike will be release but tomorrow the gundam contrast event in nagoya they will release the box version of eg strike gundam
Seems Target didn't get the memo; they've got the American Flag themed EG RX78-2 for ten bucks (which sucks when the HGUC is 13 now). I'd guess that future Entry Grades will fall in around there as well. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they make some EG Striker Weapon Packs to match (which SHOULD be much lower in price).
Amazing review!!! I need your help because I've been looking for building an RX-78 but I still haven't decided which kit I will get. Unfortunately I can't afford the PG Unleashed and I don't want a simple one like HG or Entry. Do you think the MG 3.0 would be the best for me? I thought about the RG too but the frame problem (don't recall the name) that had on the first RGs kinda concerns me, also there's the Origin model kit which has good reviews out there. Anyways, if you can help me choosing it, would be great! Thanks for the Gundarium content!!
A full weapon pack version of the Entry Grade Strike could be interesting, would that be essentially the Entry Grade Perfect Strike, or e.g. the Aile Strike, if they did the Aile Strike they could then do a Launcher and a Sword Strike, then there is the Rouge with the IWSP, the Rouge with the Ootari, the Noir, and other versions with other Striker Packs, Lightning, Gale, Gunbarrel, and I'm sure there are several others. potentially this could easily take Entry Grade to 10+ releases with Striker packs and colour varients I'd happily buy a version with all the Striker packs, especially if they included an adaptor allowing e.g. the Ootari pack to be used with the RG Strike
Anyone see this kit at a US Target yet? That tends to be the place with the best price for there entry grade kits. After I bought all my kids and their cousins the RX-78-2 and America Gundam kits they are jonesing for another entry grade kit. It’s really cool that I change the cool Dad and Uncle who shows up with a craft project for 10 kid from 6 to 14 that they all enjoy. Gonna start getting more expensive when they start wanting to do HG kits :)
I wonder if they're perhaps making this eg kit to be compatible of that infamous beggining gundam g since that did have compatibility issue with old and modern hg kit, maybe this may do.
I need an Entry Grade Astray so bad, Bandai is losing money every day they don't release it. You have at least 4 possible releases just from the basic Astray mold, maybe 5 if they want to release an origin version of the mirage frame. Now that they're selling upgrade kits too, you could even release just parts to turn the Blue into the Second L or like the Lah/Exceed galaxy release an alternate version of the kit as the Astray Amatsu.
The reason why they say you don't need tools is primary for younger audience who just want to have a bit of fun and enjoy the Lego aspect of Gundam. It's not designed necessarily for adults but for adults they would use tools to polish it.
So... I built this guy about two months ago. I did the same thing with the runners--popped out the pieces by hand. Well, let me tell you: the 'Entry' in 'Entry-Grade' evidently means 'Entry into your finger' because holy smokes, it's like I got pricked at the doctor's office. So I can safely say I've put some blood--along with the sweat and tears--into the hobby now! EDIT: Also the Strike Pack showed up yesterday, so I have that to look forward to! And lastly, my EG came with the Beam Rifle and Shield... did they re-release it with more stuff since you made this? I also paid about $9 for mine at USAG in-store now in 2024, to give an idea of the inflation since two years ago; didn't see the HG there on the shelf to compare it to, though.
Well the Army builder fascet Benjthat you mentioned the dagger the 105 dagger the slaughter dagger And the base gm Use the strike and rx 78 gundam pretty But the majority of the build other than look certain sections of the chest And the heads, Because the 105 dagger Is literally the cockpit area in the head And the hip armor having beam sabers mounted That make it any different other than the extra armor on the lower arm So it would be stupid simple for them to build that 1 And the 105 and the slaughter are literally the same unit just different colors And then the regular dagger different head And it has a backpack more similar to the GM and the RX78 but only one beam saber on the backpack. So yeah it would be crazy easy for them to do it Stuff like the zaku they could do it But it will take some time, But it would be worth it for the company to do it Because Char And Amaro packs selling both models in one box That's like 30 to 40 depending on how much they charge specifically for the zaku 2 And they could also include all the weapon options in the box for the RX-78-2 And they can even do 78-1 and a regular zaku 2 set And then the RX781 prototype along with a black tri stars zaku 2 . The m1 astray sadly will take a bit Because all the details in the legs And the fact that it has to have the backpack, Because that's the one I'd really want. And I'm surprised they haven't done a entry grade version of the mass production nu gundam Because it's literally just different colors a backpack And some little vernier thrusters All over the body like the shoulders And lower legs. 1 thing I really do love about Is the eg strike though is the ability to attach striker packs And because how the arms and legs are connected I just don't use those ball and socket pieces And I could use the Is astray red frame with flight unit Shoulder piece under the shoulder armor and the hip piece To connect them 2 a different unit Cause I do need the arms for my custom M1 And at less than $15 Roughly 50USD and I can purchase Three of them And I can have all 3 sets of arms that I need for The 3 custom M1 units that I'm building What I still need to get my hands-on the CGUE For its legs and wings

Bandai should had included the head, shoulders&leg armor for the Strike Daggers. You could use this model for the mass produced MS as canon fodder in a diorama like for the Battle of Panama or Invasion of Orb.
What bugs me a bit is that Bandai for some reason did not use the swing down mechanism for the hip/leg connection used by the 30mm kits. Even if they didn't include the hip rotation, the peg would probably have been better than the ball and socket they used.

I think the reason why there's no extended verticle movement of the shoulder joint on the strike like the RX-78's is due to the aile striker pack that they are definitely going to release in the future? Cause if it was the same joint then once you equip the aile striker you won't be able to move the arm that far up anyways so maybe they just decided to not add it in.
By all means feel free to branch out. Entry Grade may not last, but if they make stuff like a GM or Zaku, definitely would buy those. But definitely give a newer HG a try. Just look at some reviews. Are they going to hold up over time, will the build pay off, will it do what you want it to do, be it posing, good build, or just looking awesome?

It's a mass produced grunt suits. It is better to be an EG than a revive. The cheaper it is, the easier it is to be in mass

i think it adds charm to the entry grade kits, they get a kinda floppy wooden doll feel about them and end up being really cute

Strike on the left was EG, the one on the right was a the HG. The trick is to look at the elbow joints.

I literally got this and another entry grade in today, and had the same experience, but with the legs and torso mainly.
Bandai is really killing it with their new EG line of Gunpla
if i remember right, the 1/48 kits they released also just wanted you to pull them off the runners, though i think they included a crude tool.

Honestly the entry grades are getting me into the 1/144 scale model kits which I was never into before. I hope they keep up these entry grades. I already preordered the Nu gundam and got the US gundam Target Exclusive.
So this kit finally made it to local hobby shops in the US but weird thing there must be several versions. The boxed version we got here comes with a beam rifle and the shield and does NOT have the daggers which seems so weird that they couldn't find the space on the runner next to the gun for the daggers wtf!?

easy way to spot the difference between the entry grade and high grade is the elbow joint. the high grades are round and more detailed the front

Honestly, while this kit looks great, I still would just get the HG, even if the EG is available while the HG isn't. While I think the color separation is amazing, I don't think it fully makes up for the lack of accessories. Sure the side-to-side movements in the waist and ankles are amazing, but honestly I'm not convinced it can help make up for the lack of the rest of the Strike's accessories. Hell, the HGCE Aile Strike *also* comes with the knives, meaning if you want just base Strike, it's still there.
I’m surprised they haven’t done a 1/100 scale of these ( easy build ) , I’m sure a lot of people would want a affordable model kit to custom , everyone loves Value and a great design (no poly cap)
i know literally nothing about gundam but i love these model kits.
I hope that the EG Nu is an upward trend from this. The shoulder articulation worries me a bit but it's still extremely pretty IMO.

Love the colors of the new EG Build Strike Exceed Galaxy. Its halfway to the the Strike Rouge(my first PG but waiting to build it). EG Build Stike comes with Skygrasper but call it galaxy fighter
For my entry grade gundam kits so far I've used a gold sharpie to give them a pseudo foil sticker look.
10:28 We're finally getting an accessory pack for this kit, not only to give it the Aile Striker, but even the Launcher Striker and Sword Striker packs as well, which means you can have a EG Perfect Strike Gundam.
I just got back into gunpla. I started with a HG RX-78, then a RG Astray Red Frame, then a MG RX-78-2 Origin. All of these are in various states of disrepair. I just bought this entry grade to stem the tide before I really jump back in, and I hope not to make the same mistakes moving forward.
I just realize that our *Build Strike Exceed Galaxy* is just a reprint from Strike Gundam 😵💫😱 with "new gun-sword", "new shield", "new face", "more 3mm hole in the armor joint", "new booster backpack" and the "build-in effect part into the armor"
Hey there, had an idea for ya if you ever end up in a drought of something interesting to do for a video. Do one of your top/least favorite videos about shields. You may have to do a choice or video for every grade, but there’s plenty of interesting criteria, overall design, build, attachment point or shield arm, features, etc. just food for thought.
I'm doing a mashup between the dagger-l the windam and the strike, using the strike rouge, but I could swap the arms for this one and save the rouge from being just scraps
I got this one today I didn't realize I can move the feet side to side...thanks to this video.
What I did with my RX is that I took my panel lining marker and colored in the parts of the eyes that should be black so the thing where you look at it at a low angle isn’t a problem.
Guntank early grade please? Those things need more love (partly because I love those things to death in UCGO. Yes Zeon bring all the prototype bull you have, my cannons will still penetrate any mobile suit you sent out (at least for this game)), aside from making grunt early grades for breaking, making them an excellet background decoration of an after-battle scene

The seam line along the lower section of the head (the "ear" area) is actually a panel line in the original animation cells, so I wouldn't be too bothered by those.
I've been wanting to work on custom painting a gundam and entry grade sounds like the perfect thing to test painting on. Time to go back to the store lol.
Considering that the HGUC Zaku only just released, it might take some years before we get an Entry Grade version.
Next month the box version of entry grade strike will be release but tomorrow the gundam contrast event in nagoya they will release the box version of eg strike gundam
Seems Target didn't get the memo; they've got the American Flag themed EG RX78-2 for ten bucks (which sucks when the HGUC is 13 now). I'd guess that future Entry Grades will fall in around there as well.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they make some EG Striker Weapon Packs to match (which SHOULD be much lower in price).

Amazing review!!! I need your help because I've been looking for building an RX-78 but I still haven't decided which kit I will get. Unfortunately I can't afford the PG Unleashed and I don't want a simple one like HG or Entry. Do you think the MG 3.0 would be the best for me? I thought about the RG too but the frame problem (don't recall the name) that had on the first RGs kinda concerns me, also there's the Origin model kit which has good reviews out there. Anyways, if you can help me choosing it, would be great! Thanks for the Gundarium content!!

I think this kit would be great if you wanted a Jet Strike Gundam, using the Jet Striker pack from the Jet Windam
...and the other entry grades series are basically kids toys or statues...damn the gunpla series given a lot of love

On the box release I had trouble with the hip joints. They didn't break, but they have stress marks just from putting the ball caps on
A full weapon pack version of the Entry Grade Strike could be interesting, would that be essentially the Entry Grade Perfect Strike, or e.g. the Aile Strike, if they did the Aile Strike they could then do a Launcher and a Sword Strike, then there is the Rouge with the IWSP, the Rouge with the Ootari, the Noir, and other versions with other Striker Packs, Lightning, Gale, Gunbarrel, and I'm sure there are several others.
potentially this could easily take Entry Grade to 10+ releases with Striker packs and colour varients
I'd happily buy a version with all the Striker packs, especially if they included an adaptor allowing e.g. the Ootari pack to be used with the RG Strike
Anyone see this kit at a US Target yet? That tends to be the place with the best price for there entry grade kits. After I bought all my kids and their cousins the RX-78-2 and America Gundam kits they are jonesing for another entry grade kit. It’s really cool that I change the cool Dad and Uncle who shows up with a craft project for 10 kid from 6 to 14 that they all enjoy. Gonna start getting more expensive when they start wanting to do HG kits :)

I feel like these eg kits might be the best for customs due to the separation the joints the cost and articulation
The G-Frames are also good for customs. They come with an entire internal skeleton and are like $5 or $10.

I need an Entry Grade Astray so bad, Bandai is losing money every day they don't release it. You have at least 4 possible releases just from the basic Astray mold, maybe 5 if they want to release an origin version of the mirage frame. Now that they're selling upgrade kits too, you could even release just parts to turn the Blue into the Second L or like the Lah/Exceed galaxy release an alternate version of the kit as the Astray Amatsu.
In 1998 when I was 6 I just snapped out all the parts on a Heavyarms kit and wondered why it had all these sharp edges
head camera is easy to solve. just cut out a couple of tiny squares off the unused bits of the sticker sheet of any other kit.

The reason why they say you don't need tools is primary for younger audience who just want to have a bit of fun and enjoy the Lego aspect of Gundam. It's not designed necessarily for adults but for adults they would use tools to polish it.
So... I built this guy about two months ago. I did the same thing with the runners--popped out the pieces by hand. Well, let me tell you: the 'Entry' in 'Entry-Grade' evidently means 'Entry into your finger' because holy smokes, it's like I got pricked at the doctor's office.
So I can safely say I've put some blood--along with the sweat and tears--into the hobby now!
EDIT: Also the Strike Pack showed up yesterday, so I have that to look forward to! And lastly, my EG came with the Beam Rifle and Shield... did they re-release it with more stuff since you made this? I also paid about $9 for mine at USAG in-store now in 2024, to give an idea of the inflation since two years ago; didn't see the HG there on the shelf to compare it to, though.
Well the Army builder fascet Benjthat you mentioned the dagger the 105 dagger the slaughter dagger And the base gm Use the strike and rx 78 gundam pretty But the majority of the build other than look certain sections of the chest And the heads, Because the 105 dagger Is literally the cockpit area in the head And the hip armor having beam sabers mounted That make it any different other than the extra armor on the lower arm So it would be stupid simple for them to build that 1 And the 105 and the slaughter are literally the same unit just different colors And then the regular dagger different head And it has a backpack more similar to the GM and the RX78 but only one beam saber on the backpack. So yeah it would be crazy easy for them to do it Stuff like the zaku they could do it But it will take some time, But it would be worth it for the company to do it Because Char And Amaro packs selling both models in one box That's like 30 to 40 depending on how much they charge specifically for the zaku 2 And they could also include all the weapon options in the box for the RX-78-2 And they can even do 78-1 and a regular zaku 2 set And then the RX781 prototype along with a black tri stars zaku 2 . The m1 astray sadly will take a bit Because all the details in the legs And the fact that it has to have the backpack, Because that's the one I'd really want. And I'm surprised they haven't done a entry grade version of the mass production nu gundam Because it's literally just different colors a backpack And some little vernier thrusters All over the body like the shoulders And lower legs.
1 thing I really do love about Is the eg strike though is the ability to attach striker packs And because how the arms and legs are connected I just don't use those ball and socket pieces And I could use the Is astray red frame with flight unit Shoulder piece under the shoulder armor and the hip piece To connect them 2 a different unit Cause I do need the arms for my custom M1 And at less than $15 Roughly 50USD and I can purchase Three of them And I can have all 3 sets of arms that I need for The 3 custom M1 units that I'm building What I still need to get my hands-on the CGUE For its legs and wings
I'm kinda disappointed that the Perfect Strike Freedom backpack isn't compatible with the EG Strike.
Its possible to connect perfect strike freedom's backpack on the EG strike if you have a striker pack adaptor
I think they're gonna do the Unicorn Gundam at some point, but how will they do it is my question. Like, will it transform or come out as 2 different kits?

Kotobukiya should do this with their Mega Man line; have lower-level kits alongside the main kits, for easier entry.
I can attest to the EG loosening up. My EG American Type can barely hold up its shield because the bicep and elbow are both loose.

Bandai should had included the head, shoulders&leg armor for the Strike Daggers. You could use this model for the mass produced MS as canon fodder in a diorama like for the Battle of Panama or Invasion of Orb.
Okay, I wanna ask the ones who has kit and High Grade Strike kits, can you make the EG Strike into Perfect Strike using HG kits (Revive and old)?

What bugs me a bit is that Bandai for some reason did not use the swing down mechanism for the hip/leg connection used by the 30mm kits. Even if they didn't include the hip rotation, the peg would probably have been better than the ball and socket they used.
I feel like the HG will have improvements in the future if this will be the entry point to gunpla.

I think the reason why there's no extended verticle movement of the shoulder joint on the strike like the RX-78's is due to the aile striker pack that they are definitely going to release in the future? Cause if it was the same joint then once you equip the aile striker you won't be able to move the arm that far up anyways so maybe they just decided to not add it in.
I'm getting this as my first Gunpla kit! I might get the Nu Gundam one as well, for now I'll stick to Entry Grades since I am still a beginner.
By all means feel free to branch out. Entry Grade may not last, but if they make stuff like a GM or Zaku, definitely would buy those. But definitely give a newer HG a try. Just look at some reviews. Are they going to hold up over time, will the build pay off, will it do what you want it to do, be it posing, good build, or just looking awesome?

I think the grunt Suits from Turn A would be perfect for the EG line, like the Sumo and Flat for example.
