It's great, if you make a video on texturing and shading in unity in which a proper guide to import texture and UV correctly from any 3D softwares. Thanks
Very tiny correction from a physics perspective: a single photon will never change or „inherit“ the color of a surface. Instead, white light contains photons of all colors and colored surfaces will filter out some of those photons while reflecting others. That‘s why shining a purely red light on a purely blue surface will not yield blue or purple light but no reflected light at all. As an exception there‘s fluorescence where photons are absorbed and lower energy (longer wavelength) photons are emitted but that usually isn‘t too important for gamedev.
Aha interesting! I just researched a little bit after seeing that pic I included, but perhaps I grasped that info wrong. Thanks man! =) Actually is there anywhere I can read more about this? I find it quite interesting to just know.

Sometimes using the method that is not enlighten (i dont recall the name) i get some bugged uv light textures, like swapped shadows on the sides of an object.
If you are looking for a performant solution, then unity has it's limitations. Realtime GI is removed in unity 2020, but is coming back. But if you want performance, then you're obviously gonna wanna bake the lighting. But the progrssive lightmapper still doesn't support specular map data. I wish that it was the case, but the only solution is using bakery, wich is expensive. I'd really like to be able to bake my light fully, and just use light probes for my moving objects, but im forced to use mixed lighting, wich is a problem, cause i have a lot of lights in my scene
5:47 Photons don't just inherit the color of the surface they hit. That's not how physics work. That's not how any of this works. Many photons with different wavelengths (their hue) hit the object and only those with the right hue are reflected and the others are absorbed and converted to heat energy. Of course, in game engines, you would be right, but there we work with rays and not with single photons.
Wont happen with this, as it requires the scene geometry to be static (all dynamic objects can only receive the lighting data using light probes and wont add anything to the GI)
Please make videos about light and reflection probes. There's too low information on internet about them. My biggest issue is where put them to be efficient.
Hi Sykoo I was watching your "Best engine in 2018"video and got me wondering... Do you know anything about NintendoWare Bezel engine? Maybe some thoughts, speculation or opinions for a video would be awesome.
Really good video, I can't get why people get angry over partners on the beginning.. seriously.. everyone wants something for free and when they are given they are grumbling.. dear god. Keep up the good work! :)
Thanks man, really appreciate the kind words! Is it safe enough to make fully baked GI AAA game right now? Me and my team are working on it, but we're not close to the end, but when we do get there, would you suggest it?
Hey can you go over hdrp scripting? I want to make a day and night cycle with hdrp volume procedural sky but I can't access the components through script I tried everything I could think of.
Make Unity 2018.3 guide please! And would be great to make Unity 2018 guide for someone coming from older versions when we didn't have so many updates so often
Hey Skyoo! I just game to ask how you get all your assets for all engines? I’m guessing you don’t model and animate them yourself? So do you buy them somewhere and if you do could you tell me where?

Great video, thanks for share :) What happens when using baked ilumination with static objets, but your light source is moving or changing color? Does it works or baked ilumination only works for complete static scene (objects and lights)?
Does this work if you want to have a door, but obviously it isn't going to be static if it's opening and closing. Will the door stand out in the scene as something that's not lit up enough, or will it be ok?
The door will stand out, but with light probes the door can at least receive indirect light from other objects, but it wont ever contribute to the GI. Imo this really sucks, because games generally need moving stuff lol

Really helpful. Today I first time understood how GI works behind the scenes and how to achieve it in unity. Thanks a lot!
It would be cool if you provide light baking settings comparison, e.g. different amount of samples or different amount of texels
