These are not 'powder puff' dogs. They are a 'working dogs', athletes, well trained and in tip top shape. they don't want to be 'dressed up' foo foo dogs. They need and want a job to do. they are loyal and loving, but make no mistake, they'd rather be doing what they were bred for.
LOL Probably because the Mal almost looks like a cat when it comes to the incredible jumping ability it possesses. An adult Cougar has the longest horizontal jump (up to 40 feet), and those crazy Mals obviously can't jump THAT far, but they just glide through the air, unlike really any other dog breed.
I just love these dogs. I used to jump horses. They can jump great heights and broad jumps. But comparative to these Malinois dogs... I can only dream of a horse that could do this. I'm in total awe of these amazing creatures. Well done, Lord. ❤️❤️❤❤
Had one that was part of our team when I was in the military. One of the best dogs ever! Did everything with us, including jump out of aircraft, even had her own goggles! Saved A LOT of lives! Had twice the energy, loyalty, discipline, and love than any operator I ever worked with! God rest her soul,! A true American hero! R. I. P. Gypsy

Incredible abilities, these breed is unique. Every time I am holding my breath while watching their jumps. It is spectacular but the question arises: how much this intense training contributes to developing of hips dysplasia in Malinois? It said that it is one of their health problems. It's not as bad as you would think it is. It's like anything else, if you train them to jump properly, and aren't forcing them into extreme landings, my understanding is that they fair better then German shepherds do from it. My Mali runs and jumps all over, has for years, no issues here. I've seen him snatch a crow out of the air that wasn't fast enough off the ground, took it at about ten feet using an oak tree as a springboard. Health wise, just a very robust and hardy breed, just too much energy...

Amazing breed. You need a 50ft fence to try and keep on in if not trained not to jump one lol. My malinois can clear my fence if she were allowed but she isn't. She can also run, jump and run up wall to top floor window. Super agile breed.
These dogs are having FUN. Amazing. Blessed with a rescue Akita/German Shepherd K9 type trained dog once. Some idiot discharged a gun in our neighborhood once our 'Tiger' cleared 2 board fences to get to the shooter. The guy made it into his house in time. We had to climb 2 fences and run around the block to get our dog back. Yes the idiot with a gun got a police visit.
