I just woke to find good sounds to go with my coffee. I came across this Ben that I’ve never heard of before. My eyes are now open wide and impressed and had completely forgotten about my coffee.
Pretty much the only transitions he does nowadays, with music; I started following him and his music over a decade ago, when he (and his original band) had some of the best transitions I'd heard in music for a long time. Now? Not at all.
It’s new but somehow, it brings me back. Ben’s art had such an influence on me throughout my life. I’m just glad he does what he does. Band sounds amazing all together.
One of the coolest vids I've seen in awhile. Ben playing acoustic, going to the band, seeing Kyle, Nat, RD and Mickey tear it up in their shots, and closing off back to the acoustic with the birds in the background Who doesn't adore this?
Almost makes me cry. "Somedays I'm almost gone babe, back to the beginning of a time". I read about him having mini strokes/or something and I'm sure the thought of passing through goes through his and all of our minds. Love Ben!! And his drummer is so good and fun to watch along with the whole band.
I absolutely love Ben Howard. How come every album and every song he does I love it. Heard this for the first time today and I can’t stop listening to it. Can’t wait for the new album on the 17th June. HE IS A GENIUS AND HIS PEOPLE AROUND HIM THAT HELPS CREATE THE NEW SOUND
Elements. ELEMENTS! That's what makes Ben's music special. So many small elements coming from all kinds of sounds of various instruments. Instruments chime in, take a pause, and chime in again. So beautiful!
I had to watch this video at least 5 times: the first was for the artists perspective, second for the visual creativity, third was to listen to the lyrics, forth for the AV breakdown, and fifth was to to sit-back and enjoy the amazing performance as a whole! Well done.
There are times when the sorrow and heartache of love's past are so far behind us that we lose the feeling of loss. These times are when our cup of joy is full, calm days, easy days....days when time passes like a silent stream. Enjoy the breeze, the bright glow on your face and the easiness it brings. No mention of storms or futures, every moment is this moment.
THE DOGS BOLLOCKS ❤ this resonates like hell with me as a long term sufferer from depression. Some days I walk backwards. BUT overall I am moving forwards and that’s a GOOD thing
I absolutely LOVE this song! Sometimes it's OK to go backwards to move forwards! I can definitely resonate with this song! As I struggle with depression! I just LOVE everything Ben Howard does! One of my favourite musicians ever! His music is so relaxing! Well done Ben! ❤️❤️ I'm getting jazz feels too and chill out lounge vibes! Love love love!
In France we have this typical expression: "C'est dans les vieux pots que l'on fait les meilleures soupes". Dats exacly my feelings ! Merveilleuse chanson & wonderful staging.
This is just gorgeous! I loved the studio version and got hooked on that short intro and was anticipating and excited for a more acoustic version, and this is just so satisfying. I love that we get so many versions of his music to enjoy at different moments and moods. Ben Howard is a genius, I'm so happy to have his music in my life
In a world where everything is seemingly falling apart, I needed this more than I even knew. It's also so nice to come to the comment section and be reminded of how many BH fans there are out there like me. ❤
The new album is absolutely incredible, its amazing how Ben can move between darkness and light so easily in his music the last album was quite moody but this one is like breaking back out into the light.
This is just absolut awesome.
This is the perfect crossover of "old Ben" and "new Ben". Best of both worlds.
Exactly what I was thinking
Glad he’s found the right path after a bit of experimenting
@@liamliosmyth he definitely seems a lot happier for sure, it’s lovely to see
@@liamliosmyth
In this regard though, there were never any ‘wrong’ paths. I’ve loved every part of Ben’s musical path.

It was great to shoot this live session 😍
Where is the venue? Is it recording studio or somebody's home ... Beautiful property.
How many goes did it take to get right?
Great job guys
La Frette Studios. Residential studios near Paris. Their website shows pics of all the rooms. Must be a really hard to leave.
The concept and filming is amazing and a perfect medium to convey the feeling of the track.
Imagine waking up to this for free on RUclips. What a time to be alive.
Sure beats the mongols at the gates
Indeed
Sometimes we forget how good we have it!!
I just woke to find good sounds to go with my coffee. I came across this Ben that I’ve never heard of before. My eyes are now open wide and impressed and had completely forgotten about my coffee.
Good call, actually; we take it for granted don't we?!
that drum slowly coming in as he walks up the stairs....insane
Natural fade in
Ben Howard proving again and again that he is the best musician of this generation
100% agree!
LOL!
Best? How so?
One musician should be the best? In which world do we live?
In every genre we have a lot of "best" musicians.
Greeeetzzzz ❤🙏🏻
Fully agree. Was lucky enough to see him live in South Africa. Was awesome!!
Great to see Ben and India back. Congratulations, a great song.
India is playing in the current tour!!! It was beautifull seeing them all together ❤
I'm so happpyyyyyyy🎉🎉
I thought that was her! The camera doesn’t pan over to her for some reason.
Omg, I'm realizing this just now!!!
Ben Howard + La Blogothèque = Heaven 😄🤩
That indoor transition gave me chills! ❤️
that transition from outdoor to indoor vocal was heavenly
Pretty much the only transitions he does nowadays, with music; I started following him and his music over a decade ago, when he (and his original band) had some of the best transitions I'd heard in music for a long time.
Now? Not at all.
Love the fact that Ben is literally walking forward in this video. Incredible shot!
it wasn't one of those days
Truth be told, I don't mind.
is it?
However, the camera operator was walking backwards!
Now this ladies and gentlemen is real music! Every once in a while a artist comes along like this and it makes the hairs on your arms stand on end! ❤
Agreed, most of the tat in the charts makes me angry for the fact it airs at all, this is pure talent and mainly all I listen to lol
@@ZanderRoundI’ve been deep diving in his catalog, what a goldmine. 😮
The indoor transition feels like a fever dream - in the best possible way. ❤
I absolutely love how this video was shot. Beautiful
Ben Howard is just the goat nothing more, nothing less. Glad that he’s back und happy
the song makes much more sense in this version. such a beautiful thing
It’s new but somehow, it brings me back.
Ben’s art had such an influence on me throughout my life. I’m just glad he does what he does. Band sounds amazing all together.
I wish Ben released all the songs in the album with the acoustic to electric/synth to acoustic pattern. I'd listen to that all day
One of the coolest vids I've seen in awhile. Ben playing acoustic, going to the band, seeing Kyle, Nat, RD and Mickey tear it up in their shots, and closing off back to the acoustic with the birds in the background

Don't forget India too!
@@LH-yl1ul she didn't have a shot unfortunately

Gosh, redefining how live performances are recorded. This is art.
Listening outside with the birds singing “and the whole world sings along”
Such a warm song. Feels like home.
This man can do no wrong
Is that India Bourne on the cello. Everybody is in the shot but for her. Hope to hear her voice on the album
Every time I listen Ben Howard’s voice I remember who much I love his music
So happy to see India still there by his side. Love the music these people make.
What a pleasure to follow his career, leave it to Ben Howard to always touch us with heartfelt music
And the whole world sings along...
Hope Ben will do an acoustic album soon. Just him and his guitar
That is my new walking backwards originally album edit.

The transition in this is just something else...
Each day I am prefering more the new Ben. But it doesn't make me dislike the old Ben. Both are awesome!
Stunning!
his music never disappoints
For me the birdsong at the beginning and end is fantastic, I prefer this version to the original
The way he sings "cradle" gets me every time.
