It feels weird to call one of the strangest iPhones ever made the best value right now- but for around $150 on the used market, with the ability to do anything fast on iOS 16, I do feel like this is the case.
Agree? Disagree? What do owners of the SE 2 / 3 think?

The SE 3 is much stranger than the SE 2, the 2 made sense when it came out imo. I for one loved to have a successor to the original, albeit maybe not as great. The SE 3 is just a frankenstein of a phone that could have been skipped by Apple, with the rumors of the next SE being based on the XR

The iPhone SE 2 definitely is a great overall value in late 2022. While battery life could be better, it's nothing a good battery case can't solve. But it still has great performance, surprisingly good cameras, Touch ID, loud speakers, great call quality and most importantly several more years of software updates. In my opinion, it's probably the best budget iPhone right now until the price drops on the SE 3.

I bought an as new customer return iPhone SE 2020 this year for £229. It still has 100% battery capacity. I do not have 5G in my county and so would not have benefitted from the slightly faster iPhone SE 2022 5G. My iPhone SE 2020 is faster than most Android flagship phones and so is fast enough for me. The only downside is the small 4.7 inch LCD display. LCD is poorer than OLED but I did not think that it was worth paying three times as much for an iPhone 13 mini.

I’ve always felt the SE lineup has been targeted towards us cheapskates that don’t really care about the latest and greatest features but want a future proof device that gets us into the ecosystem. I’m rocking the Product Red SE3 and while some may say it’s a ripoff compared to the 2020 model, I just have to state that the 5G connectivity, A15 chip and most importantly, that extra 250 or so milliamp hour battery difference makes a big difference!!! Long live our TouchID devices… I’m pretty sure the SE3 will be the last device that apple ever implements the home button into the iPhone.

I got an se2 when they came out to replace my first se. Was still going strong and I only upgraded because my camera was kaput (don't mount your iphone to your motorcycle) and I was offered a good deal on a 13 pro.
But overall, it took good pics (while it did), was plenty fast for my needs, was a comfortable size and the screen was fine for what it was. Never really felt like I was missing out on much whenever I compared my SE to a newer model.. I also just found it more comfortable to hold and use than a larger, bezel-less phone. Edge to edge screen might look good but frankly I just find them way more cumbersome to hold and use.

Mine is still on the iOS 13.4.1 it shipped with, it’s very fast which I love. I just had the battery replaced as the original fell below 80%, and with the new battery the phone feels like brand new again. But will upgrade to the iPhone SE ( 3rd Gen.) has the faster chip and 5g. But I’ll wait and see. How the Origianl SE holds up coming to 2024. And this is my 1st iPhone since 2016. I went ahead and ordered one. It seems ideal for me, since I’m looking for a more compact and minimal phone but I don’t want to go full dumbphone (not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Since I already have an iPad Pro, this seems like the one to get because I can get a simple, non-Android phone for dirt cheap AND it can sync with my iPad. Hopefully my Samsung Watch can play with it at least to some degree because I really don’t want to spring for an Apple Watch right now.

I bought an as new customer return iPhone SE 2020 last year for £229 last year just after the iPhone SE 5G 2022 came out. At the time is had a 100% battery which is currently 97%. I am pleased with the phone although it will not hold charge all day if I have Google maps running all of the time. I guess that the bigger battery in an iPhone 12 would solve that problem, although that would more than double the price. I have seen A grade iPhone SE 2020s on sale for £136 and so they are becoming more of a bargain each day. They will continue to receive security updates for another three years.
