Can’t believe I’ve only just found this, my all time favourite Celtic tune and so beautifully played. I’ve just purchased the tab, from Pete’s website and look forward to spending many hours learning how to play it. Wonderful to think how many guitarists Pete will inspire with his videos, cd’s and tabs for many years come.

I would imagine his visual loss ceased work in a forge and we are all blessed with his music which is timeless beyond the riveted pan handle maintenance of a tinker.

Wo! The absolute most beautiful version of this song I have ever heard, done slow and with deep emotion. I now have to rethink my whole approach to this song. Thanks for the great, excellent influence Pete. You certainly are a blessing to all of us both as a guitarist and as a person.Brian

    • @Yowzoe

I agree, loveliest version - unadorned and beautiful pacing. I’m not a musician, but I found other versions to be either sentimental or elaborated.
I am looking for an acoustic with a whistle or a fiddle. Everything on Apple Music so far has been either “improved” or drippy.

To lovers of this tune, see if iTunes or whatever has Dave Evans' unbelievable arrangement. It's from a an early 80s album on Kicking Mule Records, called *Irish Jigs, Hornpipes, and Airs.* In fact, he plays several of O'Carolan's tunes on the record, all in the following tuning: CGDGAD. Called "Orkney Tuning."
