The way the first one happened reminded me of the polar express where after glacier gulch the train goes up a mountain and the engine bends around it the way it shouldn’t,

Adding weight won't make it reach a higher speed, gravitational acceleration is the same for any object. It might help in mantaing momentum in the loop.
