    You cannot pick and choose the speed in active track mode. That’s why the obstacle avoidance still work it doesn’t matter what you have the switch on the maximum speed for the drone will still be the same when following you. There is no slow medium fast speed in active track. It just does active track.

    • @JandE-TEX-DRONES
      @JandE-TEX-DRONES  Месяц назад +1

      There is definitely a Speed difference when you have the different modes on and active track is on. If it was in cinematic mode and I had AT on, it would be gone a lot slower, same as I have been a normal speed mode. It definitely was zipping around like it was in sport mode.
      Based on my testing, it definitely controls the speed of what you have it set to before active track comes on.
      *** edited ! You are correct the slider controls the speed but when you in sport just the over all movement of the drone was fast up down left right. This is what I noticed compared when I have done this in regular mode. :)

    Here’s a post from 6-2-22 about Active track 4.0 in the Mini 3 Pro. Apparently from the manual.
    “Active Irack 4.0 ActiveTrack 4.0 consists of Trace and Parallel modes, which support the tracking of both stationary and moving subjects such as vehicles, boats, and people. In Sport, Normal, and Cine modes, the maximum flight speed remains the same. Move the roll stick to circle the subject, pitch stick to alter the distance
    from the subject, throttle stick to change the altitude, and pan stick to adjust the frame. The aircraft will bypass obstacles in ActiveTrack 4.0 regardless of the settings in DJl Fly when the vision
    systems are working normally. Trace: The aircraft tracks the subject at a constant distance and altitude, and a constant angle with the
    direction of the subject. The aircraft can only track subjects in front and will bypass sensed obstacles. The maximum flight speed is 10 m/s. When the user is moving the pitch stick, the aircraft can actively bypass sensed obstacles at the front and back. Note that obstacle avoidance is disabled when the roll
    stick or the throttle stick is used. Parallel: The aircraft tracks the subject at a constant angle and distance from the side. The maximum
    flight speed is 13 m/s. Obstacle avoidance is disabled in this mode. In ActiveTrack, the aircraft maintains a distance of 4-20 m when tracking people at an altitude of 2-20 m (the optimal distance is 5-10 m and altitude 2-10 m), and a distance of 6-100 m when tracking vehicles or boats at an altitude of 6-100 m (the optimal distance is 20-50 m and altitude 10-50 m). The aircraft will fly to the supported distance and altitude range if the distance and altitude is out of range when
    Active Track begins. Fly the aircraft at the optimal distance and altitude for the best performance.”

      That is some good info. Also I not sure its totally true but .. My understanding, which might not be fully correct, is that the Air 3 and the Mini 4 Pro both utilize ActiveTrack 5.0 technology, which is what allows the drone to subject scan and identify people, cars, and/or boats. I believe it also utilizes some degree of AI to help it better keep track from farther away and when the subject is momentarily obscured. The Mini 4 Pro also uses ActiveTrack 360, which gives you the ability to predefine min and max height/distance, as well as move the drone to precise points via the UI while tracking is engaged. As far as I know, the Mini 4 Pro is the only DJI drone that currently offers the enhanced functionality.

    What’s up my Texas brother, you had me rolling with your fast walking then full out jog! STOP Doing that, you’re making the rest of us look bad!!
    Good testing in your vid, glad OA worked good for you. I’ve tested it plenty of times as well as watched vids of others doing the same. I’ve seen plenty crashes when dealing with trees and those fine limbs!! I’m still amazed how well OA actually works, to me it’s nuts.
    I’ve seen way too many people try to make their drones OA do things that are flat out really asking for too much! Let’s face it, OA is pretty dang cool but everything has a limit. I’ve seen vids where people are on a bicycle and going in between I’m talking tight tight trees and only to complain when the OA hits a limb. That’s of course with the person going really fast as well as tight around things. To me, that’s just asking for a wrecked drone and in my opinion it’s also operator error. The info from DJI makes it abundantly clear what OA can and can’t do, but some just like pushing things to the limit and then complain when an obvious CRASH is coming.
    Don’t get me wrong, id love to fly with zero concern and do whatever id like to, but I try to keep it real especially when the info is out there from DJI as well from others. Looking forward to getting my channel up, it’s always a time thing! Glad yours is progressing well, keep the vids coming, BUT STOP JOGGING!!!
