  • In this video we mount the landing gear in the video series where we build the Tarot Ironman 650 quadcopter frame. Next videos we begin programming and installing the electronics and the 3D robotics pixhawk autopilot system. All in all it seems a very good quality frame. This quadcopter should be used for mapping/photographing fields (with crop) from above. We'll see how that unfolds soon. Stay tuned and subscribe!

You installed landing gear incorrectly, the orange piece has the thread there's no thread in silver parts! What is holding the screws to down into the landing gear? You can just pull the 2 screws and orange piece up and out!

There's a cut out on the gear housing where it meets the bottom plate. that hold the bar underneath the airframe screws from top bar on bottom.

you think a kk2.1 controller would mannage to fly a tarot 650 with 360kv motors +30A qbrain esc + 10000mah 4s + 17x5.5 props? and you think i can find a vid for that? i already ordered these parts and waiting for ur 3'rd vid :)

Well the controller can handle any size quad with any ESC's and motor combination. The different flight controllers is only there for different flight modes, stability and features. So you'll be fine. 17" props is right on the edge but you'll do :-)
New video should be up within the hour :-)

You know you did it wrong? the screws go UP from the bottom...and into the orange plate at the top.

the key that you use to mount it comes with the kit?

You mounted the landing gear completely wrong. The two long screws pass through the upper carbon fiber plate then through the 2 silver half round braces then the screws pass through the second bottom carbon fiber plate. Then you place the orange dog bone that says TAROT and screw the long screws into the threads. This is what holds the gear tight. Your build is wrong... WOW!!!

Keith T I see your point and i thought the same thing when i was about to assemble it. Then the manual said otherwise and i tried to install it that way. And it actually holds the parts together that way. And besides, in my model there is a given thread in the bottom silver brace so it is still tight. I might it later, but for now it works. Thanks for the heads up :-)

Keith T Yes the video is wrong but I disagree with your assembly order. Mount the orange dog bone on the bottom and the landing gear **WILL NOT** ever fold flat as the plastic hinge fitting on the top end of the leg fouls the dogbone. There are also a number of pictures including on the official site where the screws are fitted pointing upwards. The correct order is screw, bottom plate, shiny aluminum blocks x2, top plate, orange dog bone. To fit these bolts the side plates on the landing gear need removing.

How in the heck are you supposed to tighten it down with the bolts starting at the bottom side if the gear is in the way? And why do the "dog bones" look so fancy, only to be hidden by the gear if inserted in the botton? Oh yeah, gotta rove them Chinese instructions.
