Hi mate, thanks a lot for your comment I'm glad it helped and really flattered. It would be really helpful for me to get my video shared and help us fight appliance waste! Please remember to subscribe to our channel, as that really helps us 😇
Fault by design should be punished with prison time for CEO's. It's beyond me why this channel don't get more attraction. Thank you for the easy to follow explanations and taking the time to make these. And to my fellow subscribers. Throw in a comment for the algorithm. Thats important to climb the yt ladder.
They are not much more complicated than the old system but if you do not know what you're looking for then they can be highly complicated to the average person. It makes fault finding much harder and when there's a problem with the circuit board what can I say ridiculous prices for the components, when they should not be. What would really help me to get my video seen as I'm no IT expert is to either share the channel or at least post it to your friends my videos might not be RUclips superstars, but they save Appliances from the scrapheap. Great great explanation of exactly what's happening and what you're doing.. I have exactly the same oven which heats up fine. Once it reaches temp it stops heating as it should.. If I turn the rotary dial to increase temp it does not start heating again. Which component would your gut instinct test first ??? Would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you
Glad it helped mate. Since we work very hard in our warehouse making free video guides for you all on appliances, we always appreciate a beer, offering a choice of single or round beer. www.how-to-repair.com/help/buy-paul-a-beer/ Thanks 👍
I always test for voltage before pulling wires. I know you could see it was disconnected just good practice for the day the sparky has wired the appliance connection wrong, or you flicked the wrong label circuit breaker.
I have a Bosch cooker and about a year ago the main oven stopped working, I thought it was the element so bought a replacement, fitted it, but still the same, did a continuity test (which I should have done first)and it was beeping, so I assume the element is ok, later I discovered that there is an element at the bottom, under the steel base which was burnt through, I replaced that one and it works, but the main oven still does not work, the grill and fans works fine, everything is working as it should apart from the main oven element. I have been using the grill as the main source for cooking for over a year. What would you recommend, change one of the white boxes?
It sounds like you're not getting any voltage going to the element there can be a few reasons but without knowing the model number it is impossible for me to give you any correct information I would be checking all connections to the circuit board and having a close look at the relay on the circuit board also make sure the timer is set up according to your manual correctly. Bosch are very poor at providing data to the general public like workshop manuals and test procedures because they want only their engineers to work on it unlike other makes.
Thanks very much for coming back to me but I think you were a little confused with what the model number is. The model number will be on the identification plate and I will also need the PNC number which will be on that label as well. I'm putting a link here so you understand how to find it. www.how-to-repair.com/how-to-find-your-cooker-or-oven-model-number/
@@dogbreath6974 this number you gave me is not a Bosch as you said above this is an AEG cooker 94418121700 if you use the contact us page at the website, I will be able to obtain the full workshop manual for you and wiring diagram
I find it ironic that we should be moving to being more green and keeping stuff working longer and the manufacturers are making goods more difficult to fix! Its time they are regulated more strictly. Thanks to you I am keeping my white goods running longer
Hi there, I totally agree with you! This topic is close to my heart as well. Over the past 40 years, the industry has changed significantly, and it feels like we've become a throwaway society. There is a lot of waste because of built-in obsolescence. Manufacturers often focus more on selling new machines rather than making them last longer. Many consumers have complained that goods don't last long enough and can't be fixed in the home for an economical cost. That's why I created content about the "Rigth to Repair Act" and it focuses on several shocking e-waste facts related to it. I will drop the link below so that someone who sees this comment can learn more about the problems we have nowadays! www.how-to-repair.com/what-is-right-to-repair-things-you-can-do-with-scrapped-washing-machine-drum/

The Neff oven with the door that pulls down and slides into the base? Does that have a standard fan 2000 watt element ?

@@How-to-repair Thanks for replying. I got the model wrong, it's an AEG Electrolux Competence, I'll try replacing the the parts as per the video.
