Done this job a few times now on various ovens. What I found with my Zanussi oven was that the genuine replacement heating elements only lasted a year (I went through three) but the pattern part is still going strong after 5 years!
You are so welcome mate! All I'm trying to do is teach in the correct way that everyone understands. It would be really helpful for me to get my video shared and help us fight appliance waste! Switching using the trip switch is safe isnt it? I know its probably a silly question but I am no electrician lol. I just do not want to remove my oven out from where it is but wish to replace the element, the plug for mine is wired in to the wall, not a socket plug, that is the reason I ask, turning the trip switch on the main electric board will be ok for me to change the element yep? I should add, removing the oven would be to get to the socket place itself also. Great video though, I was running my oven cooking and the trip switch went, of course turning the oven off. So i went down to the basement and put it back on, then just like this on the main fan setting my oven gives no heat. So I am guessing the element blew during cooking and that tripped the switch, i hope that is all it is anyway these videos are an absolute god !!
Great video thanks. I don't trust myself to make that repair. How much roughly should I expect to pay a competent person to supply and fit a new element (UK)? Cheers.
Amazing video and thank you for being so clear and thorough, good man.
