I have a slightly different model SI4854CIX with catalytic liners. The "beep" sound is very quiet and no use if you are in another room.
The manual does not point out that the door needs to be shut to use the grill. It won't turn on until the door is closed and it shuts off on opening the door.

I thought the big grill was the "drip tray" mine says the other is a baking tray. and i thought the tilting grill was the element can tilt off so you can clean above it? - or did i get this one? I got the PIX version today (pyro cleaning version) so still learning as its posh compared to my "on or off" oven!
