    Thank you for this great video, with so much variety ! I was intrigued to see a MPI loco on the point of a mixed rake of MBTA cars with a single Amfleet car. I wonder why ?.

      Thank you for the kind words!! The train you are referring to measures and inspects the rails which is done by that Amtrak coach, as MBTA does not own any inspection equipment like that. MBTA leases that coach from Amtrak every 3 months

    Rail Spike has the 2034 gotten a new T decal on its nose yet? I’m curious. I remember in the summer of 2021 I saw 2034 pushing an inbound out of west medford and noticed as the train left the station that the HSP46 had no T decal on its nose. I thought to myself and every time I see 2034 i think “ohh there’s the cursed HSP”. 🤣🤣

      It still doesn’t have one, funnily enough. The nose was still blank when I saw it a few weeks back on the south side

      I wonder if it’ll break down again, Lol. 😅 What are they waiting for, put a new one on it already. 😡🤮 Where on the south side did you see it? I’m curious.

      I saw it at fairmount on a Deadhead move to readville. Saw it right after seeing the capeflyer set with the 1129 and 1138

      I wonder why mbta decided to make 1129 into a heritage unit? Don’t get me wrong I love the cranberry red color on it, looks nice on a geep. What does a heritage unit even mean or what does it represent?

      A heritage unit is a locomotive that wears a heritage scheme, as in a scheme from a railroads’s heritage (in the past). The decision to paint 1129 was suggested by some higher ups who thought it would look nice as far as I’m aware

    Wait, why doesn't 2034 have its T decal on its nose? Also, why was 2034 and 1133 double heading on a set?

    • @rail_spike_productions
      @rail_spike_productions  8 месяцев назад

      2034 got in an accident and it’s nose was replaced, just guess they just didn’t put the T decal back on. Those two locos were double heading due a potential mechanical failure in the 2034 which had just returned to revenue service after being out of service for ages.

      @ericschwartz3559 8 месяцев назад

      When you say for ages, I estimate that the 2034 was out of service for 6+ years.

    • @rail_spike_productions
      @rail_spike_productions  8 месяцев назад

      It was closer to 2 years, I don’t remember exactly how long so I did not specify

      Did the 2034 hit a tree or something? What was the cause of its mechanical failure? Was it shipped off-site or repaired at Boston Engine Terminal?

    • @rail_spike_productions
      @rail_spike_productions  8 месяцев назад

      I believe it was a tree yes. All work to it was done at BET in Boston. Mechanical issues were related to the locomotive not running for a long time as the front of it was rebuilt

    why dafuq was there an amtrak car coupled in there with all the rest

    • @rail_spike_productions
      @rail_spike_productions  4 месяца назад

      It’s a track inspection car that MBTA uses every few months, as they do not have their own
