MegaDrainProductions Yeah, but sith can be concerned. Jedi such as Anakin have been driven to the dark side in order to save loved ones or to seek revenge for their deaths. This is why it was forbidden for a jedi to fall in love. Vader's love for Padme was the only part of Anakin left in him. Joe Humpston So this was like 20 years before ANH, and according to Rogue One it took them 15 years to build the death star. And the empire was already fully established with new tie fighters and star destroyers. Im thinking way too hard about this, this timeline is fucked.
The events of "The Phantom Menace" took place thirty years before the events of "A New Hope"; the events of "Attack of the Clones" took place ten years after TPM and the events of "Revenge of the Sith" three years after AOTC. Anakin was just 9 in TPM, 19 in AOTC and 22 in ROTS. So, by the time we get to the events of both Rogue One and ANH, Anakin, at that point, Darth Vader of course, would be 39. When ANH was being filmed, David Prowse, the actor who originally played Darth Vader in physical form, was 39. So, there we have ir.
+J macho Oh thank Christ someone else gets that! This scene is so maligned but I bloody love it. I'll never forget that moment of silence in the cinema before Vader took his first breath. Still gives me chills.
Haha! Mmmm now I want Mexican... Glad you feel the same way I do about SW. Am watching the climactic duel between Luke and Vader in III right now. Cinematic perfection.
The heartbeat, his non-sith eyes showing its Anakin looking at the mast like WTF, and then "help me padme" with his burnt vocal chords... the detail in this scene is extraordinary
2:27 the shot, the music, the slow tragic reveal of one of cinemas most iconic villians, my god dude. i understand empire might be the objective best of the first 6 but revenge of the sith will always be my favorite.
I like the detail of Sidious remaining perfectly fine while Vader crushes all the droids and machinery in his grief and rage. Good way to demonstrate his mastery of the force.
I'm glad people are finally coming around to this scene because it's actually pretty important. First of all, his love for Padme is the reason he did all this (also losing faith in the Jedi) so to not ask about her is ridiculous. Second it emphasizes the tragedy in all this. He's lost everything that mattered to him, his mother, being a Jedi, Obi-Wan, Padme, his lack of feeling towards other people and apathy towards his true identity as Anakin is complete. Yes, he became Darth Vader when Palpatine named him so but Anakin was also there. It's how Dooku was also Darth Tyannus. At this point there is no separation between the two. Anakin is truly gone and only Vader is left. Third, it emphasizes the Anakin-Luke-Padme connection. Both mother and son believe there is still good in him and the last thing Padme said to Anakin was that she loved him and wanted to be with him. Anakin would be truly dead if he allowed Palpatine to kill Padme's child with him.
The "no" scream was foreshadowed when Yoda was feeling Anakin's pain after Shmi died. It's right after Qui Gon's calling and before Vader's exhale. Masterpiece of a trilogy.
I love that even though Anakin has fully joined the dark side and officially completed his transformation into Darth Vader after putting on the suit, the first thing he asks about is Padme which really tells you that there is still a tiny part of his old self inside him cares for someone but when Palaptine tells him that he "killed" her in his anger, it not only cemented the empeor's evil hold over his new apperentice but also showed that whatever was left of Anakin Skywalker was now long gone
The way the room crumbles around them and how Vader snaps off his restraints then takes his first heavy steps. A new dark life is created. Frankenstein's Monster suffering in unbearable pain standing right next to his proud creator marveling at his own magnificence.
“Your father was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed.” - Obi wan Kenobi
Whatever people may think of the prequels (I'm not the biggest fan myself), I still remember that moment of absolute silence in the cinema before Vader took his first breath. I get goosebumps even thinking about it. I grew up with Star Wars and that moment - that moment - will never be equalled. Ever. Also, I like the 'Nnnoooo!'. I know I'm pretty much alone in this! However I love the symmetry with Luke's 'Nnnnoooo!' (which btw I find far more hilarious), and the Frankenstein trope - Vader freeing himself from the bonds of the operating table and taking those first two heavy steps... Haters gonna hate but I totally dig it.
I just love the sinister tone that starts playing at 04:11. It gives you the feeling that the Jedi are all but deatroyed, The Grand Army of the Republic is now under the command of a powerful sith lord, and the Rise of the Galactic Empire.
This is more poetic than people actually give credit for. The first lines Vader (while in his suit) says are about his wife; Padme. And the last lines he (before the mask was taken off) convey are about his son; Luke. Vader thought about his family from the first moment he donned the suit until the last.
I grew up with the Prequels and my dad showed me the originals when I was young (Hell I even learned how to use a VHS when I was only 2 years old to watch the movies) and hearing James Earl Jones say "Padme" sends chills down my spine.
4:17 even if the light is almost completely gone from him by now I'm still inclined to think that somewhere in there, a small shred of his concience is wistfully thinking "...and this would be when Obi-wan would greet me with his usual raised brow and a nice quip of sarcasm..."
I love how when the suit is being put on, you can hear a heartbeat. Then before the mask seals, there's nothing. After it seals however, the heartbeat returns. The death of Anakin, and the birth of Darth Vader.

"This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker. Forever."
-Matt Stover.
I love the small details like when he breathes out, the smoke around the area was blown away.
Darth Sidius smiled when Vader screamed out in pain. . IMO he never gave two shits about vader. He was like a recruiter fucking up young boys futures with power and honor talk to build his own army.
fuck boy origins
+Rogelio Rocha He didn't really lie, though. As far as he could have known, she died.
She survived his attack initially, but by the time of that revelation she had already passed.
+Austin James I theorize that Palpatine knew how to manipulate the Midi-chlorians into sucking the life out of Padme and into Vader
+Austin James dah sith
Palpatine literally watched over Vader for 30 years, he cared about Vader. He smiled because he saw that Vader achieved force scream out of his anger. Force scream is when a sith harnesses all of their anger in there scream and destroys everything around them.
2:22 feels like the most epic breath anyone has ever taken
1:06 bosses be like
"You still coming to work today?"
Aw no 😭
4:10 It was at this point when a voice in my head said "The circle is now complete" the hairs on my arms stood up, goosebumps, and a chill coursed my body. this specific scene was so powerful I began tearing up and smiled
The music when Vader is walking towards the window is great. It's a very sad, tragic take on the Jedi Theme transitioning into the Vader Theme.
The part right before the "nooooo" is the best one.
When he rips off his constraints in anger and sorrow and tries to move around with his new limbs, but his movements are still clunky.
3:32 the way his first step is so heavy and awkward kinda gets me
As a kid i thought it was weird but like man now it makes sense its his first time with legs that arent his
3:39 emperors troll face.
I hate that you had to make me laugh at this truly heartbreaking and powerful scene over some dumb Internet inside joke
It was at this moment that he knew his decades of planning and pulling strings had fully come to fruition.
Bro was so hyped about what he turned Anakin into lmao
@@fisher3317 Well, as it turned out, not quite completely - Luke and Leia survived
@@Rudy_Play He didn't know that. At this moment he thought he won, which is kind of true given that he went on to rule the galaxy for the next several decades.
Idk care if the Noooo was cheesy or not, this scene will always be iconic. RIP James Earl Jones, he’ll will forever be our Lord Vader. 😔
Vader was actually shrieking in agony in this scene, but his voice modulator reinterpreted it as the closest word it could match, which was “No”.
3:40 was my exact reaction when I heard the very sad news about the legendary James Earl Jones passing away. I thank him giving his voice to who would be my all time favourite villain and to a lion who is a comforting father figure to everyone. Rest in Peace James Earl Jones. May the Force be with you. Always.
4:01 Thus Begins...
*_Rogue One._*
It's events didn't really happen until like 17 years later, but you're right!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+ugaaa5
*_I find your lack of taste disturbing..._*
loved the nod to Frankenstein via pulling off of the table
+J macho Oh thank Christ someone else gets that! This scene is so maligned but I bloody love it. I'll never forget that moment of silence in the cinema before Vader took his first breath. Still gives me chills.
Lydia Coutts the Force is strong with u...whats yo damn email lol
Haha, the Force is indeed strong with me ;-)
Lydia Coutts me too...but i think it was the jalapeno rice i ate earlier
Haha! Mmmm now I want Mexican...
Glad you feel the same way I do about SW. Am watching the climactic duel between Luke and Vader in III right now. Cinematic perfection.
2:21 the birth of vader
3:44 the birth of the empire
4:01 the birth of the deth star
4:13 and the birth of a new era
The heartbeat, his non-sith eyes showing its Anakin looking at the mast like WTF, and then "help me padme" with his burnt vocal chords... the detail in this scene is extraordinary
3:38 When you eat the last pizza
jesus christ lmao
you know man ahahah
3:40 Your friends when they see you ate the last pizza
Who’s here after hearing that James Earl Jones passed away? May his spirit become one with The Force.
That scene when Vader and Sidious are watching the Death Star construction is one of my all time favorite scenes in the entire Saga.
2:27 the shot, the music, the slow tragic reveal of one of cinemas most iconic villians, my god dude. i understand empire might be the objective best of the first 6 but revenge of the sith will always be my favorite.
02:08 Say what you will about the prequels, but that scene alone was worth the money I paid for it at the cinema.
I know
Farewell James Earl Jones. You're now w/ the force
Who’s here for the late James Earl Jones 2:52 the voice of Vader will live on forever !
3:36 - Palpatine realizing his plan for the past 3 movies has come true.
2:58 "It seems in your anger you ate her"
"I... I couldn't have. She was a salad. I tased it"
As the mask goes on, you can hear Anakin softly says, "Padme help me."
Holy shit dude. I have never once heard that till now. That's crazy.
@@Shadowcat2085 Go to 2:06 then you should hear it seconds after that I had to put the volume up high with headphones on he does whisper it though.
@@Shadowcat2085 No problem.
that's so chilling. what n amazing detail added in there
Na
3:56 Chronologically, Vader just came from his meeting with Orson Krennic. "Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, director!"
No this is way earlier than that
you’re about 20 yrs early friend
R.I.P James Earl Jones you are one with the force
dropped one of the most amazing performance in Kenobi series and passed away knowing his legacy was intact till the end
I like the detail of Sidious remaining perfectly fine while Vader crushes all the droids and machinery in his grief and rage. Good way to demonstrate his mastery of the force.
R.I.P. James Earl Jones the voice of “Darth Vader.” Rest in Peace (1931-2024)
3:20 when you realize that James Earl Jones aka Darth Vader himself, has passed away today. R.I.P Darth Vader. May the force be with you, always. 😔
May the force be with him 😢
3:40
Star Wars fans everywhere reacting to today's sad news. RIP James Earl Jones, he is one with the force now.
RIP James Earl Jones ! ❤
2:26 Rip James Earl Jones 🙏🏽
The "no" scream was foreshadowed when Yoda was feeling Anakin's pain after Shmi died. It's right after Qui Gon's calling and before Vader's exhale. Masterpiece of a trilogy.
"She was alive, I felt it!" Love how he sounds saying that.
Rest in peace James Earl Jones 🪦⚫️
You still don't have the rank of a Master
Rest in Peace James Earl Jones 🕯
Rest in peace James earl jones
R.I.P James Earl Jones.
R.I.P James Earl Jones
Rest in peace James Earl Jones
1931-2024 died at age 93. What a living legend 😢❤
The tragedy of Anakin.
“Your father was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and became Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed.” - Obi wan Kenobi
To Luke Skywalker.
one word...
HISTORICAL!!!
Vader's physical change to the dark side was a sight to see. I hope he's the absolute unit and monster we love in the Kenobi Series.
3:40 How many were here after the death of James Earl Jones
RIP, James Earl Jones. Some of his best voice acting here.
3:14 When you’ve just heard that the best actor is dead
“He was alive! I felt it!”
I love the genuine concern you hear when he asks about Padme. You can hear his voice tremble a bit, filled with regret and remorse at what he did.
Your not alone the noooo for me signified how sad, lonely, and betrayed he felt after becoming the literal thing he swore to destroy
2:16 the best scene in all seven films.
Trevor Philips i disagree.
The Shadow Man so what’s better
Now 10
@@-sgsdfhdhhdt i think the scene where Luke and Vader battle in the hallway when Vader threatens to turn Leia to the dark side is better
Theres only 6
that first breath that comes out the suit still sends chills down my spine
I just love the sinister tone that starts playing at 04:11. It gives you the feeling that the Jedi are all but deatroyed, The Grand Army of the Republic is now under the command of a powerful sith lord, and the Rise of the Galactic Empire.
This is more poetic than people actually give credit for.
The first lines Vader (while in his suit) says are about his wife; Padme. And the last lines he (before the mask was taken off) convey are about his son; Luke. Vader thought about his family from the first moment he donned the suit until the last.
2:09 "Padme help me" 😨
Just paying attention to the smaller details and imagery this is truly amazing
3:08 Palpatine looks kind of scared to answer.
