3 Stages of a Witch and its effects on your witchcraft

- Did you know that there are three stages, loosely associated with the maiden mother crone aspect of any triple deity. We follow the same path and are we not all like a deity? I am in the transition period between mother and crone. This later transition period can last for several years, or can be quite quick, it much depends on the witch and how they are feeling. I don’t like the word crone, and am embracing my inner wise woman or cunning woman label instead, but some of you witches like this term so, please don’t let me stop you calling yourself this. This is everybody’s witchcraft

Thank you for offering such an inclusive take on the “parent” phase. It weighs on me when I hear about the power and gifts of motherhood knowing I will never have children of my own. I did act as the primary caregiver for my brother for many years, yet people say I’m selfish for not birthing a child to raise.
Carly, people criticize no matter what you do. If you have one child, they say it's not fair for a child to not have siblings. If you have two, they say how can you bring more children into the world to add to pollution and overcrowding and you don't have the money to take care of them properly. Live your life Carly!! ✨

As a wise woman/crone, I don’t do spell casting much at all anymore. I find all I have to do is ask for what I want /need.😊

It's interesting that I phased from Mother to Wise Woman within the past 3 yrs which is when I truly started practicing gradually and only in the past year and half truly kinda dived into it.
Yes, I agree with all the points raised, especially that relating to the ‘crone’. Wise would seem better for either female or male. However, what about about those of us who missed out on the virgin and parent phase. Not our life experience of course, but our magical or witchy phases. When I was around 7 I used to have a magical friend who was with me in my dad’s garden, so much so that I can remember her now. I, at 70, have just begun my pagan journey and so wish I had started out earlier. Thanks for the video. Peter

Well I am so excited to have found a witch in her wise-woman stage of her life with a youtube channel!. No offense to the young witch youtubers but the "been there done that, doesn't excite me much anymore" phase of my life is settled in strong. But I still love the craft, just not all the showy stuff anymore. I don't cast spells much anymore either. I was a mother but my daughter passed away when she was 20. She was my only child so I have a hard time with that part of my identity. It is a bitter sweet phase of my life. Settling into the crone stage of my life feels good in a way. I could do without the hot flashes though! Any spells for that? No matter what I try, can't get rid of them. I've had them for 10 years now already. Seriously that's enough! Now to go watch more of your videos!
I love the word Crone! I hear it and I automatically picture my Grandma and a little old lady on the edge of the woods with lots of cats and critters about, naking jam in her kitchen.
My Grandma because was so wise, loving, and nurturing. Although she was not a Witch, if you ever had a problem, Grandma would make you a cup of tea, a cup of M&M's and sit and talk you through it.
And the little old lady on the edge of the woods because that is what I would love to be. Only I will have my large wolf dogs as well. 😉
My daughter is still a maiden and incredibly powerful.... And you're right, I as a mom focus mai ly on keeping everyone safe and healthy! My mom has become the Crone.... And is embracing it!

I was resistant to the word crone as well, because traditionally, I've thought of crone as grandmother. You're a daughter, then a mother, then a grandmother. However, after both of my older sisters passed away before they reached 55, I hit that particular milestone, and started to see a crone as a strong, venerable woman who has lived through, and seen much. I actually embrace the term now, even though I'll never be a grandma, because my daughter can't have children and my son has no interest in parenting whatsoever. Anyway, I really enjoyed your take on the stages of a witch, and it rang as true to me as anything I've heard on the subject. Thanks for sharing your lovely witchery with us all.

I just remade my vision board yesterday & it included things I wanted to manifest like Clairaudience & clairvoyance and to become a skilled Medium. There was material things as well but also stuff about health and strength. I am noticing my desires changing as i get older. Great video

Ginny, I loved this. I'm almost ready to enter my Wise Woman stage. I embrace the term Crone though, I grew up around and studied a bit in Salem, Ma. which is like witch meca in the states, I always heard it's a good term.

I feel the other universe is yes on orher side. And as long as there is death there would be the other side. And it would have different dominions also.
I feel like it like having federal law in America and then state laws. In comparison with universal laws and dominion laws.

Perhaps "Caretaker" or "Steward" resonates better than "Parent?" Those of us in our middling years are so often the caretakers and stewards of our homes, communities, and workplaces; in ways large and small, seen and unseen -- with or without children.
I am in the Crone stage of life, but I feel like I lack so much wisdom. I'm so new to my education and integration of Spirit. I guess I'm slow to catch up with this stage..lol
I just turned 40 not sure when I'd be considered crone status but sometimes I feel like it because when you look back it's funny to think of things that use to get a ride out of you n I held grudges n you get to the point later in life none of that matters it's a waste of time. I consider myself still mother but correct me if I'm wrong. My son calls me a hag to bug me but that's cause he's being a 17 yr old punk n laughs it off. I thought a male witch was a warlock? I thought the difference between a magician and a warlock or witch were that witches really didn't have any rules. I thought a magician I guess cause of Crowley studies I done. I sort of jumped into it without much choice really. So I am female but thought I was more magician than a witch.
I feel that there are universal laws that stay in place no matter what even though dominions have laws.
But also believe in another universe.
So yes to me a magician would keep universal laws here or try to anyway.

Hi! I've only been practicing (or mainly learning, rather) for the past two years, but I'm well into my 40s. Would I still consider myself a Maiden, or a Mother? (I am also child-free, but a dog-mom to one doggle.) Thanks!
Here’s one for you Ginny, I am a virgin mother . (Not the Virgin Mary ! ) I had a child conceived by fertility treatment when a virgin and gave birth to a daughter. She’s 23yrs old now and I’m still a virgin by choice. Does this mix of “virginal mother” make me a more powerful witch or just a crone now I am in my fifties? Either way I’m very much a novice as new to witchcraft.

I absolutely love being a crone. The term gives me power. I feel so much more grounded and stronger in this phase. My feet on the ground feel steadier, my every step more meaningful and intentional. I can feel it better now than when I was younger. 🧙🪄😎
