    Ricoh needs to release an update that adds grain slider to the color films. It's already included in all of the Black and White simulations

    I have to be honest my friend. I really love your shooting style, you take your time to do composition and not just randomly take weird off center, janky angles or just pictures of every gas station. Its refreshing to see that you took your time to take photos. I see so many people do street photography and i know pictures are subjective..... but dam some pictures are truly awful. However your style of photography and composition are on point. Please keep up the videos!

    I really love the Negative Film simulation. I usually use it with +2 Saturation. Default settings if I want that muted look.
    Here's my Recipe for punchy creamy Red/Oranges:
    Saturation: +3
    High/Low Key: +2
    Contrast (shadow): -4
    Clarity: +1
    Other settings default
    I shoot in RAW and use exposure compensation to taste

      wait... if you shoot in raw then the recipe doesn't matter right...? Recipes are just for JPEG I thought?

    • @DylanRotich
      @DylanRotich Год назад +3

      @@SpencerScottPugh If you use a Recipe while shooting RAW you can preview how it looks (it will only show on your camera but when you import it to lightroom it will look like the standard profile). You'll still have to "develop" it in the RAW develop mode which will export a JPEG. The benefit of this is you can export as many JPEGS as you want with as many recipes as you want. You also have more control over the shadow correction, white balance, noise reduction, and exposure. It lets you tweak exposure by 1 stop in either direction.
      A recipe in JPEG basically bakes in the look instantly.
      A recipe in RAW only shows a preview and lets you tweak the image before baking the JPEG (you do it after you take the picture).

      @@DylanRotich why not raw + jpeg?

    • @DylanRotich
      @DylanRotich Год назад +1

      @@SpencerScottPugh I've done a bit of that but I realized most of the time if I liked a picture I was going to develop it anyways just to see if it could be improved, so there wasn't much point in having duplicates of photos I didn't like. I have a small 16gb sd card in my camera right now just cause that's what I had lying around. I'd delete probably 70% of the photos I take so thats just extra 24mp JPEGS taking up space.
      I can see how RAW + JPEG would be helpful if you don't expect to make a lot of tweaks. That way you don't have to open up the RAW development for each picture

    7:45 The negative film has a higher hi/lowkey adj setting than the positive film. You can customize it to your taste. Helpful if you only shoot JPEG. (press Fn button while selecting negative film)
