Great tutorial, thanks! The question is in M mode, the back button autofocus only works when focus ring is locked. If focus ring is unlocked (in manual focus mode), back button focus would be disabled. Could you let me know if that's the case for your settings?

I've tried a lot of recipes over the last year off Ritchie's sheet and from other street photographers who were kind enough to share. Since I came across your first video on Jpegs I've pretty much always had "outdoor JChen and indoor JChen" handy on the camera and toggle for the BW. These are the most useful recipes I've come across and have taken thousands of pictures with those settings. Look forward to trying the tweaked recipes.

Flip screen would be epic even if it neans a bit chunkier. The Canon g7x mk covers everything but the sensor has its limits. Its so smallnwith a flip out screen i sometimes think i dropped it only to find its in my jeans pocket.

The R5m2 definitely chews through batteries, due to its new features (R5 firmware was around 60MB, R5m2 firmware is around 250MB!). Love just about everything about it over the R6m2 I traded in to upgrade to it. Normally I'd get two days of shooting (say about 3 hours each day for a total of 6+) with the R6m2, but to my surprise I burned through an entire new LP-E6P in 3.5 hours at a local museum taking a combo of pictures and 4K30 HEVC video. I haven't yet encountered the blackout issue (knock on wood) but I just got my camera two weeks ago and immediately updated to 1.0.1 and now 1.0.2 firmware, so maybe Canon has fixed the issue?

I did a preorder for this camera 2 days after it was announced. Should be here in December. Like you, I ordered several accessories thinking it would arrive in short order. I'd be curious to hear how the CPL works out over time. Looks like an interesting item.

Do you ever edit your IG photos or is it straight upload from your jpeg shot? I'm currently trying to learn lightroom, I just shot jpeg+raw last week during my japan trip. A little overwhelming not gonna lie but its quite fun.
