Just thought about it. you can get those foam speaker pads and put on each of the shelves to decouple the speakers. Primacoustic RX7 Monitor Isolation Pads 10.5" x 13", Flat
Instead of spray painting I would've done a stain for sure - and used a nicer wood.. - costs slightly more.. but would've looked a lot better.. Also - had sanding corners for roundness is always an awesome look.. - Good job for the low cost though.
Very good! I can tell that someone knows their carpentry. It's too much work for me. I use sturdy pine shelves, bricks and a solid table. It's been up for three years with no probs. It's so solid that nothing rattles or resonates which is important for recording and mixing. Took about 10 mins to set up too. If you have neither the patience or the tools/skills, grab some wood n bricks and chuck em together. Job done.
Only problem I see here is that you need to decouple the two speakers from the same tabletop. you do not want them sonically connected in anyway. Maybe rubber grommets between the speaker section connections would be enough become point but separate stands are always much better for imaging.
Zeissler Music try building your own! Well, I now see that this comment is 4 months old. I'm sure you have a desk by now! How did the studio turn out??
Hi there, overall the build cost about £60. Breakdown of materials: £20 MDF sheet £14 drawer sliders £3 sealer (a tin is quite expensive but we hardly used any and it's not essential) £20 spray paint £3 nails and glue Hope that helps.
Dude the desk part is ok But I bet your having problems with your mix's Like loud bass when you play it on someone else system or your sounds aint clear and you lose a lot of high end This happens when you don't centralize the speakers in the room you in judging by the video looks like your in a small room If you need help with this issues let me know
+Jeremy Terror interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out woodwork shop plans try Jadonite Wood Blueprints Buddy (just google it ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my m8 got great results with it.

No video, need to 're upload?
and don't forget kids if you use a sander on MDF you should wear a mask to prevent lung cancer. A bit late for these builders.
You are right , i use every time the mask when i am smoking.
blue tack? I would not trust all that nice equipment on top of a desk being held together with blue tack...
+Holly T. - LOL Don't mean to burst your bubble but the blue tack is only stopping it from sliding.
Your speakers are to big
with all the tools u have sorry u make that junk? it was better to make the hole desk come on guys!!!!
It's looks great lol what are you talking about?
this is a lot less informative when you have to convert to American measurements... damn American "standard"
I'm sorry, I know it goes both ways ;) great looking desk though!
This is a Bad Video
nice work, but I would stick to a wooden color.
