@6:58 film credit: David Hoffman ... that clip is from a full documentary he filmed in 1965, which is so good, the Library of Congress requested the rights to upon his demise.
I saw this group of cloggers perform in Cherokee, NC a couple months ago at a community event in the Qualla Boundary of the Eastern Band Cherokee. this guy was a lot of fun to watch, I had 0 idea he had gone viral until this week. Clogging is basically a folk dance of the area and was born from Scot’s / Irish settlers who blended their step dances, with the Cherokee stomp dances and African buck dances to a blend of Celtic and west African rhythms now known as bluegrass. the entertainment in these forests and hills was music, dance and moonshine.
Clogging comes from the step dancing brought to the Appalachians by Scotch/ Irish immigrants. Check out Riverdance/ Michael Flatley for perhaps a more elaborate take. The' buck dancing' provided the percussion for the music, in a way.
Wish you could bring together Zeb & the gentleman who initially filmed him. It would've also been cool to have him C-Walk to the hip-hop/gangster rap music
