  • The Long Trail is a 272-mile hiking trail in Vermont, running from the Massachusetts border to Canada. Established in 1910, it follows the Green Mountains and is popular for both day hikes and long-distance backpacking. It is managed by the Green Mountain Club.
I hiked the first 100 miles earlier this year on my 2,198 mile trek of the Appalachian Trail. Now, I’m solo-backpacking the final 170. Let’s get it!

Very impressive run. I can tell there are times you wish you had someone to share it with in person. But know that those of us out here in RUclips Land appreciate you and thank you for sharing your journey.

Thanks for showing us the Long Trail! My "suckiest" days on the AT were when a difficult section came along I didn't know about. From that point of view, it is better to overestimate how much it will suck than underestimate.

You are certainly not the first person to think the day is gonna suck on the LT. You are still killing it!

Loving your hike. As with the ATT, I’m sorry to see it coming to a close, but it has been a real pleasure watching you. I guess if you had a chocolate bar, you could mix that coffee in the chocolate and chew it.!!🙈

Jess, I have seen you tired on here, but I don't think that I've ever seen you in a bad mood. You are one of the most even keeled people that I've ever seen. Later in the video, when you figured it all out in your head, you explained it and that alone impressed me so much. You get it! You are an incredible thinker and optimist, that is what keeps you on that even keel. You have the World in your palm.

    Hi Jess,
The algorithm took me to your site. I finished the 100 mile wilderness and Katahdin this year in June. Been section hiking the AT since 2006, two weeks each year. I still have only one section left, Springer to the NOC, which I’m hoping to complete next spring. As for finishing the LT, I’ll look at doing this next fall. Your video has been an inspiration to take this on. Old School
